Chapter 35: I Want Answers!

3RD POV

Running into a small dark alleyway, Little Christy bent down placing her small hand on her chest as she took deep breathes, trying her best to even out her breathing.

It has been about 5 minutes since the little girl left the abandoned hospital and her father behind, and right now after running aimlessly through the dark streets she finally found a small place to take a breather.

The girl clenched her shivering hands tightly as she cuddled her jacket closely to her small figure. It was only when she stop and looked at her surroundings did the girl realized how cold the atmosphere really was especially since it was still nighttime.

And unfortunately for her, no cars nor people passed the place very often so you could say it was practically empty especially at this time of time.

Well, who was she kidding, she didn't even know what time it was, nor does she know if she'll ever get home safe and sound.

The fear of being alone and being chased by those mysterious people slowly consumed the girl once again as she leaned against the wall, quietly reflecting on the things that had just occurred earlier.

The people hunting her down

The mysterious guy attacking her father

And their motives for doing such things

Everything just didn't make sense

Why would they want to kidnap her?

What are they planning to do if they ever got their hands on her?

But despite all the unanswered questions roaming around in her little head, one question of hers really made her curious.

How did the mysterious man know who they were?

And how come her father knows about him too??

What was their relationship? Was the mysterious man one of the rivals of her father's company? Or was it something else?

Little Christy let out a sad sigh as she just shook her head.

She knew better than anyone not to question her father's choices. If her father didn't attack the mysterious man right away earlier then he surely had something else up his sleeve. That's just the type of man her father was.

Finally peeking her small head out of the alleyway, glancing back and forth at the dark empty streets. She took one more deep breath before the girl suddenly rushed out of the alleyway and back on the run.

Worrying like that was the least of the girl's concerns, the only thing on her mind right now was to meet up with her mother, who was supposedly at the end of the street.

Feeling the cold night wind against her face as she just kept running, gave her a little deja vu of the moment that started this all.

After minutes of running aimlessly through the street, little Christy's eyes immediately lit up as her eyes fell upon the familiar city buildings and street lights coming into her view.

A sudden feeling of relief and happiness washed over the girl as she began to slow down her pace to the point that she began walking the rest of the way to the city.

However, before the girl could walk any further into the city, she could hear multiple footsteps on both sides of the building rooftops rushing towards her direction, catching her off guard.

And in a blink of an eye, 3 black-suited men stood a few feet away from her, and another 3 black-suited guys behind her.

"Look here, little girl. It doesn't have to get messy. All you have to do is come with us and no one has to get hurt"

The guy in the middle said as he reached his hand out expecting me to take it.

I took a glance behind me to see 3 other suited guys slowly approaching her with their arms open.

So they plan to attack me from behind?

The little girl frowned to herself as she stomped her foot on the ground, and in an instant, the cemented floor behind her was now completely covered in ice. Causing the 3 guys behind her to slip and fall to the ground.

The men let out a pained groan as they glared daggers at the girl, while the other 3 guards in front of the girl just stood there wide-eyed at the scene before them.

This time I'll get my questions answered. No matter what.

"I want answers! " She shouted out to them as her eyes glowed a bright gold color causing a shiver to run up their spines

"Oh, there's no need to get hostile there..." The man said shaking his head before suddenly glaring in the girl's direction.

"But I guess you leave us no choice" And just like that, all the guys began surrounding her, as they all started to activate their abilities making their eyes glow.

"Let see what makes you so special than the other failures in the lab"

Not a second to spare they all started charging for the girl who just closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

Okay, I need to keep calm and focus. Remember your training with Dad, Christy.

As the men charged straight for her, the little girl on the other hand began to recall the teachings of her father to her.

Okay...

Just take a deep breath

Listen to my surroundings

Concentrate...

...And punch!

To all the guy's surprise icicle projectiles started appearing around the girl as they started charging at them.

"Is that all that you've got, White?"

Out of nowhere one of the guys snuck up behind her and grabbed both her arms and twisting them behind her back.

The girl let out a groan as she struggled to get out of his hold.

"Ha! Not so tough now aren't you-!"

The girl gritted her teeth and kicked her leg behind her, purposely hitting the man private part making him fall to his knees groaning in pain as she slipped out of his grip. And in one wave of a hand, the man that was behind her was now trapped in an iceberg.

But as the girl was about to turn around, she could feel her small face get in contact with a fist, causing her to turn sideways and drop on the ground.

"Just as I thought, your parents may have trained your abilities. But not your combat skills-!"

As the man was distracted talking, Little Christy shot a small but sharp ice projectile, barely missing the man's face causing his cheek to bleed.

KICK!

Little Christy felt a kick to her stomach as she just clutched it tightly. Letting out a loud shout as the man kicked her in the stomach a few more times, each kick getting harder and harder as the girl started coughing up blood.

"Know your place you bitch! You won't be able to beat us all. So just give up"

The man said in a harsh tone as other pairs of footsteps walked closer to them.

"Damn, she did a good one on you bro"

"Tch, just tie her up so she won't escape again.

Just as the men were about to grab the girl, her eyes shot open as her eyes glowed a bright gold shade. Out of reflex, the guys took a step back as they just watched the little girl slowly getting up. A bruise slowly forming on her cheek as she just snapped her head towards the guys.

"I SAID I WANT ANSWERS!"

And in an instant, the temperature dropped even more as the means started to shiver from the cold.

"This little- quickly! Tie her up now before she can-!"

SHING!

The guys agape at the sharp and giant ice swords that appeared beside the girl, protecting her as she clenched her fist. Anger and confusion flooded the girl's thoughts that at this point she didn't even notice how cold it was starting to get until she noticed her fingers getting numb.

"Why are you all trying to kidnap me? And how do the black-haired guy know and my father?"

Little Christy shouted out the men in front of her as she glared at them. One of the guys just scoffed at her question as she slowly walked towards her, with a cocky smirk plastered on his face.

"Oh? And what makes you think we'll tell you- ACK!"

In a flash, one of the swords beside her went straight from the man's throat, making him shut up as the other guys beside him flinched at the sudden action.

"Look here. It doesn't have to get messy. All you have to do is answer my questions and no one has to get hurt. Right?"

Little Christy said mockingly, glaring at the man who said similar words earlier, as he just swallowed the lump in his throat.

"W-What do we do Captain?"

One of the guys muttered to the guy who had his cheek cut open.

The "Captain" narrowed his eyes down at the girl before turning around toward his team, it seemed like they were discussing something amongst themselves.

They were a few feet away so little Christy couldn't hear anything they were saying but whatever it was she wouldn't let herself get captured. And if they dare do anything fishy, she would just simply scare them just enough for them to tell her what she wanted to know.

As the men were talking, little Christy noticed the captain pulling out what seemed to be a walkie-talkie out of his pocket, using the others as walls to prevent her from seeing what was going on, but unfortunately for them, she did.

And before the man could even hold up the device up to his face, a sharp icicle came rushing towards it stabbing the walkie-talkie in his hand.

They all flinched at this and turned towards a glaring Christy.

"You can't communicate with anyone else"

The Captain just clicked his teeth before stepping forward, facing the girl.

"Alright...what do you wanna know?"

"Captain! You can't be serious! We can't answer her questions-"

"I know! But it's the only thing we can do right now."

" I agree Captain. She's just a kid-"

" A kid that possesses a higher level than us."

" B-But Captain..."

" Enough"

The man let out a sigh before turning towards the girl once again, but this time his expression held no hostility. However, on the other hand, little Christy didn't seem too convinced by this.

"How do I know you'll tell me the truth?"

She said, narrowing her eyes down at the group of guys. Eyeing them suspiciously.

"You won't. So It'll be up to you whether to believe us or not." The man said shrugging his shoulders as he crossed his arms across his chest.

As the group of men just stared at the little girl in front of them, little Christy just furrowed her eyes.

"Fine. Then answer this. Why did you guys kidnap me?"

"Our boss ordered us to"

The men behind him just looked at each other in worry as the girl raised her eyebrow.

"Why did he order you to do it?"

"It was for our latest Project experiment"

Project Experiment?

"Then why was Sam involved? Is he one of you?"

"Sam? Oh, you mean the one who kidnapped you? No, he was just in it for the cash. Someone as desperate and as weak as him didn't even get the job done properly, and he still ran away with the money."

The girl's ears perked up as the man explained about him.

"What do you mean he was just in it for the cash?" She asked with a worried but curious tone as the man scoffed.

"Look. This Sam guy you're referring to was only hired because he begged our boss for the job because according to him he needed it to support his family. But even if our boss gave him the cash, he didn't even kill your parents and only left you with him."

So Sam did it not because he wanted to, but it's because he needed to. So it wasn't his fault after all. But...

With her head hanging low, the little girl raised her hand in front of her and closed it right away. Creating big transparent ice domes, trapping the suited guys inside.

"You guys...tried killing...MY PARENTS!?"

Little Christy shouted out from the top of her lungs as sharp ice spikes started growing from all over the ice domes the guys were inside, making them sweatdrop.

"Why in the world would you kill innocent people, just for some stupid experiment?"

"TELL ME WHY!"

As Christy was walking towards the guys, who were scared as hell at this point when all of a sudden wind projectiles started charging at the girl, cutting her skin in the process as she let out a painful groan and fell to her knees, taken aback by the sudden attack.

"Took you long enough"

The captain said from inside the dome as another group of suited men came rushing into the scene as half of them went over to free the others while the rest of the guys went over and guarded the little girl as she just sat on the floor covered in injuries, making sure she wouldn't be able to fight nor escape.

"You really couldn't handle one little girl?"

"Oh, please. As if you could"

The other man let out a tired sigh before turning around.

"Joke's aside, we actually ran into someone making our way here. Recognize her little White?"

The man said, stepping to the side giving the girl a clear view of who the man was talking about.

However, as soon as he did little Christy's heartbeat quickened as her eyes grew wide. Her small cold hands began to shake uncontrollably as the girl felt chills run up her spine.

Confusion, fear, and concern were the expressions you could see plastered on the little girl's face as her eyes landed on an unconscious body covered in painfully visible injuries and were now tied up in a small corner surrounded by black-suited men.

"How...this can't be...THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!"
