Inside

The children running through the halls, the sound of their tiny feet against tiled floors could be heard as they passed by.

Although mistreated they were able to run rampant when the head's focus was off of them. Seven had thought they were soaring through the air as they flailed their arms and graciously took off towards a future separate from his. He didn't often speak to the children or even interact with them. Well- he didn't speak at all but that's beside the point. Seven made it a point to keep his distance from the noisy children that interrupted his sleep. Especially the babies. Oh, the babies. He thought of the newborns as something he could never have. Something that was never meant to be his.

Innocence.

The innocence of a baby is recognized as one of the purest things on this planet. They have no regrets, no hatred, no cares. They cry though oh do they cry. That is one thing that Seven hated. The cries of a baby were like a song that wouldn't end. A song both terrifying and bittersweet. Seven sometimes wondered if the babies resented the world for being brought in so unfairly and given away even quicker. He would and he does but forget that thought because the babies are completely different from him. Not yet tainted, not yet destroyed.

For now, they were pure.

...........................

It was yet another day Seven was awoken yet again by the loud bell the head lady used to alert the children of the child services ladies' arrival. Almost every month a lady from the Child Services Protection Program would report to their glorious orphanage in order to review it and check on the children. As well as delivering the head ladies pay for all her hard work. As one of the oldest kids in this glorious institution he was often overlooked by these women which is why the head lady tended to leave more untreated treated scars along his body although out of view because of his clothing since you weren't foolish enough to get caught that easily.

After a 13 minute visit, the Child Services Protection Program lady saw herself out of the gloomy Institute and into her white car to a much more sunny environment But not before giving Seven a sweet smile. One that often reminded him of the officer that found him on that day seven years ago. They both had unforgettable faces which often left a bitter taste and Sevens mouth. Would he be forgotten after his death? Was he even worth remembering? Did anyone know him enough to remember him as a being that once walked this Earth? questions ended up flooding Seven's mind before he was inevitably snapped out of his troublesome mind and back into reality.

Another day
