"haha, aunt Layla you can't joke something like this you know" I've said with a laugh, with my reply aunt Layla hugged me tightly into her, I felt something gripped my heart too.

At that time aunt Layla froze, she gasped when she saw what's inside, some others came into the room looking from their uniform they must be the doctor in this hospital, the doctor talk about something to the shocked aunt Layla but I don't care about them.

Step by step, my step becoming slower and slower as I approached the two figure-like person in bed, the smell becoming more and more unbearable, but I've already numbed even If the smell so disgusting I can't feel it anymore, I stopped beside the bed, I don't understand what I'm thinking about anymore, everything feels hazy

I slowly bring my hand to the cloth that covered the head of the person-like figure there, I grasped the cloth that covering the head of the person-like figure, when I tried to pull the cloth, other hand stopped my hand from behind, when I turned back I saw Aunt Layla holding my hand, she stared into my eyes, with that I slowly released the cloth I grasped

Aunt Layla take me back a few steps, I once again stared at the person-like figure, then I realized one of the hand of the person-like figure fell beside the bed

The hand I saw was pitch black, ahhh I understand now… even if I saw what's inside I wouldn't recognize it at all

I slowly look at the doctor "are you sure they're my parents?" it was toneless voice without any inflection, I don't know I can make that kind of voice

"no they-" the doctor tried to say something but stopped mid words, maybe because my gaze I'm not sure but the doctor remake his words "we checked the DNA, it matched with your parents DNA" He said softly but clear.

"oh" the only voice that came out form my mouth, after that the hazy feeling becoming stronger, I don't remember what happened after them when I realized it I've already on top of the bed in my room

I woke up by the usual alarm in the morning, I've used to living alone in this house which became colder than before, like a robot in auto mode my body moved on it's own preparing breakfast and I alone eat breakfast in the kitchen, before I know it I've already sat in the living room waiting for time to passed with my uniform on

When the time came, I stood up and goes to Bentley house like usual

"Big bro morning!" the first one that came to me after I entered the house was Ella Bentley with blonde one side tail in her school uniform, she smiled cheerfully greeted me,

"morning Ella" like usual I stroke her head with a smile, which I don't understand if it's genuine smile or forced smile

"morning Kate" I said when I saw Kate hiding behind a pillar, she flinched when she heard me and immediately run away from there

"big sis? What's wrong?" Ella titled her head when she saw the unusual behavior of Kate

Then I saw Aunt Layla ran into the entrance she looks like rushed of something "good morning aunt and uncle" I greeted I saw uncle Paul came behind aunt Layla

"Lex... you..." Aunt Layla tried to say something but uncle Paul stopped her

"morning Lex" uncle Paul replied

And like usual the 3 of us plus one Aunt Layla goes into the first Primary school, Aunt Layla look at me with worried look the entire journey to the school while I entertain the two lady.

"hah?" when I turn to look who's shouted my name, it was Alice, we're ate our lunch at our usual place the four of us.

"geez, don't ignore me again ok?" Alice protest as she pouted

"sorry" I replied as I stroke her head as usual, I don't remember when the morning class ended, I don't remember when I came here with them, when I realized it I already here with them

"Are you alright?" I turn to see the Dia asked me with a worried look like aunt Laya

"I'm okay"

"Really?" followed by Alice, the exchange between me and Alice disappear like an act maybe its truly an act by Alice to cheer me up? I don't know, now she look at me with a worried look as well, Kate too gave me the same look, but maybe because she's still embarrassed she didn't say anything

The school ended, I went to Laven hospital once again, my parents had been cremated already, the ash were put in the funeral home beside the hospital, that's my destination after school.

When I came into the room designated for my parents, there's no one inside, it was only a small altar, I saw some ceremonial thing on the table, I'm sure some priest or clergyman already visited this place.

I sat in front of the altar which have my parent photo, no one coming to this place, I've only realized it now I've never saw my parents with others other than Bentley house, even my parent's colleague do not come to the funeral I still don't know what their job is

even me their son goes to school, can I ask them to come? never

Haa~~ they're only acquaintance in this life, even if I called them Mom and Dad in the end they're still only an acquaintance maybe that's why I still went into school without minding their death…. Or maybe I wanted to escape from this reality

I gripped my chest with one hand and make a fist on top of my leg with the other hand strongly, Its only an acquaintance we've only live together from ten years, I'm alright nothing wrong with me, they rarely at home too, I remembered my parents from my past life too

When I tried to retract it, Kate soft hands once again hold my hands, she brought her face to my hands, with that I successfully clear her tears but replaced with blood in her cheeks.

We didn't say anything at all, Kate bring her head closer we stared at each other as our forehead and nose touched each other

Then I realized my every cell of my being trying their hardest to make their death something not important to me, maybe this is what I needed to escape from something that I unconsciously did not want to see
