Lex and Mio became a Team as their promised before, they took a Mission to subjugate Monsters, their target are a pack of Lightning Deer, it was a normal deer which mutated by Mana, their horn become able to transmit lightning, one touch and you got paralyzed for the whole day, their weakness is that they can't shoot out the lightning which mean Lightning Deer bad at ranged combat. Lightning Deer is an Upper Rank E Monster.
This weren't Lex and Mio first time in cooperating together, it's been a few Months since they became a team, they had already honed their cooperation quite a bit, once they found the Pack Lightning Deer without any hesitation Lex and Mio stood on their position, Lex the vanguard and Mio the rearguard, it's a tactic they had done more than hundred times
The Pack consists of four Lightning Deer with one bigger than the others, Lex had learned all he can learn about Scout in this Crimson Eagle because of that he able to find the Lightning Deer first without being noticed by them
When Lex gave his signal, Mio immediately activated her Magic
Then as they expected they easily succeeded their ambush, The Biggest Lightning Deer got hit by Mio Intermediate Magic
This is according to their plan too, at this time Lex had readied himself to greet The Lightning Deer's Charge, one in front and two right behind it, Lex threw four throwing knives two at each hand, his aim was the two Lightning Deer on the back

While the one in front charged straight to Lex, on this one year Lex had never neglected his training, Lex ran straight to the Lightning Deer it's a forest terrain usually it's really hard to run on this kind of terrain, But Lex on Scout Path has learn to adapt any kind of terrain, Like the deer he didn't have any kind of difficulties to run,

At this distance the Deer lower its head to head its horn this too had been expected to Lex,
(in the end it's only a wild animal without any intelligent) Lex crouched lower than the Lightning Deer's horn without losing his balance then and he tackled the Deer from bottom, even if it's mutated it's only a slightly bigger than normal deer, with Lex < Mana Skin> he can tackle the Lightning Deer Charged without any damage on him.
Lex threw back the Lightning Deer and without missing his chance he slashed the Lightning Deer's Neck with a small Dagger Lex's prepared on his waist.
"phew…" Lex breathed out
(with this we finished today's Mission…hmm?) Lex thought then he surprised when he saw there's only one Lightning collapsed on the back, Lex quickly scanned his surrounding
"Ah!" He found out that he failed to kill one Lightning Deer with his Throwing Knifes, Lex Missed the throwing knifes slightly missed The Lightning Deer vital, Now the injured Lightning Deer ran on the opposite direction of Lex it's trying to escape "sorry Dear, I miss -" before Lex can end his sentence

Lex whistled at Mio's timing and skill "as always what a terrifying Accuracy" He praised "it's like you already know what's going to happen"
"kukuku, you jest, I only prepared my magic beforehand then when I saw it's still alive I shot out My Magic" Mio said as she walked toward Lex
"yea, yea, I understood so stop with your logic answer" Lex looked at Mio exasperatedly "anyway" He put out his Fist

Mio fist bumped Lex's fist
"we succeeded our Mission today too" Lex said with a bright smile
Mio replied with a small smile too "then what we gonna do with this" Mio pointed the four Lightning Deer's Corpse
Unlike Pure-Created from Mana Monster, which only left a Mana Stone when they died while sometimes left their best Magic part of their body when you lucky, in other word it's like when killed a Monster in the game and their normal dropped item is Mana Stone and sometimes you can get a rare drop too. While a mutated Monster left a corpse when they died
Mana Stone, it was a stone made of Condensed Mana, it was the reason why Monster being hunted other than harming the civilian, like electricity Mana Stone is the energy source of Magic Weapon. And it's can only be found on the body of Monster the more dangerous the Monster is the purer and bigger the Mana Stone is.
When Lex saw the Mana Stone for the first time
(hmm… somehow I felt like I seen this kind of stone before….)
(ah! I'm remember that! It's the stone from that bear I killed on the Survival Exam! Damn! so that bear was a F**king Monster no wonder its skin as hard as a steel! I was crazy at that time to face it without knowing about Mana)
"haa~" Lex sighed "as always Mutated Monster is a pain the ass, let's take the horn and the Mana Stone, and request the Black Suited Men to bring back the rest to the Main Hall"
It was impossible for all the children accepted by the Crimson Eagle to awaken their Soul, and those Black Suited Men were those who failed to awaken their soul but still one of the Crimson Eagle members so those who awaken their soul are Elite member while the Black Suited Men are normal member their job is to support the Elite Member, and there's rule "Elite Member are prohibited from attacking Normal Member without any proper reason" which is to avoid the normal member being harassed by the Elite Member

"with this…" Rae, the blonde receptionist on the Main Hall who's had been helping Lex since Last year, she stamped a 'completed' seal on the pack of Lightning Deer's subjugations Mission
"And then… Congratulations!!" she smiled warmly toward Lex "with this Mission, Lex Ranked up to D Tier Crimson Eagle's Member!!"
"Whoa!!! At last I'm the same D-Tier as you, Dear!" Lex in happiness.
"well, you're the slowest among your peers thought"
"Ugh!" Lex felt like he was splashed by a cold water by Mio's Words
"but it's still faster than me" Mio said
"well, Mio had the ability but there's no one who's want to team up with Mio" Rae cheered up "there's many Monster Subjugation Mission which only available for Team, so Mio who didn't have team at that time can't take it . While Lex had Mio as to team up, he was able to take Monster Subjugation Mission, which speed up his Rank-up, after all Monster Subjugation gave more merit than other trivial Monster"
"Yeah! Rae's right! Dear" Lex followed up
"it's okay, I knew that, you two didn't need to cheer me up as I'm not feeling down"

"then will you two take an Outside Mission?" "un" Lex nodded "we will take Outside Mission but not now… we're not ready for that…I'm sorry dear" Lex apologized, delaying this means Lex delaying his growth too, which is delaying his unspoken promise with Mio
"what are you sorry for?" Mio patted Lex's shoulder "I thought the same thing too, dear we need to be careful, there's only one life one chance no need to rush" Mio eyes become blank when she said 'only one life' and immediately back to normal in the next moment
But Lex didn't miss Mio's changes (I don't know what happened to you, but I don't want you to make the same kind of look again, I will do my best!) "now then, we finished our task here, let's go back, oh as always thanks for the advice Rae" Lex said
Rae become happy again when she heard Lex and Mio decision "it's my job" Rae replied with a warm smile like usual
Mio too didn't have any objection, the both of them went to the cafeteria as it's almost time for dinner

When Lex and Mio arrived at the Cafeteria they met their old friend
"Arthur! Aria! Long time no see!" Lex greeted them as he waved his hand up high
"long time no see you two, back from Mission" Mio greeted them too
"Oh Lex! Mio! How are you?" Arthur replied cheerfully with his bright teeth handsome smile
"yes, we just got back today" while Aria replied seriously as always
Arthur and Aria had become D-Tier Member since last year unlike Mio, both of them had started to take Outside Mission since last year too
"we're fine" Lex replied "what about you two?"
"ha ha! We're fine too "let's have dinner together, it's been a month since the four of us talked to each other" Arthur suggested
"Ah!" with Arthur word Lex reminded of the time "I'm sorry I can't I had something to do now, let's talk again later" Lex said his goodbye to Arthur "Dear and Aria too see you later" Lex then left the three of them
"where is he going?" Aria asked
"the same place" Mio replied
"well I don't expect him to change in a month too, it's hard for you Mio"
"it's ok, it's not like he neglected other things, he went there on his free time"
"Wow! that place? He still going to that place? It's been a year" Arthur said
