Acceptance

The grandmasters looked at me before magnus spoke up.

"You have 4 elemental alignments as of now. Fire, darkness, grafity and death. Spells from those schools will be easier to learn, also once youve developed your atunement to those elements you can begin to learn the skill elemental release, it has three stages, the first is force, which lets you make the power of your spells a little stronger. Then you have balance, which provides stability for those elements letting you push more mana into a spell of that element and finally you have power. The final stage granting you the ability to forma sort of elemental soace around you enhancing that element for you and weakening it in your enemies, as well as softening the strength of other elements in that area, the more opposing the elements the stronger the effect is, with darkness affecting enemy light spells and abilities more than say their ice abilities. Anyway, take your seat again, we shall discuss everyones results."

I walked out of the barrier and as i did i heard the commotion outside. Everyone was talking about the darkness i spread in the arena during the test, as well as the colors in the elemental gem and weather i passed or not

"What was that?"

"How did he do it?"

"What was the purple element?"

"What about the grey one?"

"If he doesnt pass what will become of us?"

"Will he get all six classes?"

Amidst these comments i could also head the various guides trying to hush them all. After what seemed like forever trying to ignore the comments i reached out and grasped kleeks hand.

"I hope i passed… i think i did…" i whispered to her.

"I know you passed… ive seen what you are capable of, i know you can do it…"

Before i could respond the sound blocking of the barrier was dropped and the grand masters began listing names in unison. Of the 100 applicants they called 24 by name, mine was not on the list.

Palus then began speaking alone, "You 24 have all done remarkably well and we applaude your efforts. That being said you did not meet the minimum requirements for the test, some of you barely missed it, some of you were not at all close. Please return home and try again in the future. Please stop by the front desk to get your next available date to apply. To the 6 second years who tested today, congratulations, you all passed. You may now go to the second floor to exchange your robes to represent your multiclassing. To the new students who passed, 76 of you to be exact. You will be divided into 4 classes, of 19 members each. You will follow your guides to the second floor acter getting into first name alphabetical order. Classes will be randomly assigned to you and your guides will get your class info. This tower has 40 class floors in total with 2 dorm floors inbetween. One above and one below, including above the highest class floor and below the lowest class floor. You will be assigned a private room on your respective floors, for first years, as you will now be refered to as, you will start at the top floor. Whenever you progress to the next class level you will move down. Also note that there are cafeterias imediately below each class floor. For acess to librarys, each library level below the cafeteria houses copies of the book on the floor above and new books for your class year, the first years will have access to basic skills and spells. In order to gain access to learn more advanced skills and spells you must earn merrits by preforming well during class and on class trips outside the tower, though the latter wont happen until you become third year students. At the end of each quarter we will have month long competitions as well, the first week of which will be between classes of your year, the second will be between your class and the one above or below depending on year, the third we will divide the 10 years into 5 teams of two and the last week will be all years against each other. Points will not be modified in any way for any reason during the compition. If you first years go against 10th years and win, you would earn the same points as if you beat second years. Each weeks win is worth 100 points, the best year will earn certain privilages for the next quarter, the best class of that year will have the best privilages. You are all now dismissed."

I followed sylvian to the line with kleek by my side as i asked, "will kleek stay with me during my time here or will she have to leave?"

Slyvian looked at me as she replied, "acomidations will be made to provide you andyour lover adequate space to house in. Note that intimate relations on academy grounds is prohibited, so even though you will share a bed do not do anything. If you wish to do anything intimate rent a room at a local inn during your days off. She will also not be present during the class as to avoid distractions though when you goto the cafeteria or library after class she may accompany you then."

"Ok…"

Once everyone was sorted in the line we went up to the second floor to get our new school robes. Everyone got robes in relation to what class they tested for, the handfull of multiclassers who passed both aspects of their tests were issued dual colored robes matching their multiclass. When it came time for me to get my robes, mine were solid white.

"Is this because im going to study all 6 classes?" I asked the clerk who gave it to me.

"Yes, and also because you will become a secondary instructor in the future to the lower classes for their multiclassers. That will be one of the aditional tasks you will be required after you become a 4th year, providing you show the aptitude for it. As a 5th year regardless of your aptitude you will be assigned as a guide for new students when they get here and will be their goto for their first 3 months here. At which point once they have completed their first academy compitition you will no longer be required to maintain contact."

"Ok then…"

After being issued my robes sylvia walked me to the stairs again and there she recieved a piece of paper. She read it then handed it back to the clerk who gave it to her.

"Sylvia, why do you have green robes if you are a mage? Let alone they do not even match the green of the archers…"

"I am top of the academy right now… the first competition i was in had a bonus challenge where those who wanted to, could volunteer their names to be sorted into a bracket and fight their oppenents to be the victor. I ended up winning. This happens every 5 years and will be part of your first academy compitition as well… if you decide to join i will not go easy on you should we face each other. I may now have as much mana pressure as you, but my elemental affinity is not something to play with, let alone i have grown my elemental releases to the second stage and can use them together."

"How many elements do you have?"

"Two."

"You know i have four right?"

"Number of elements matters less than how you use them. And if you can use your elements together propperly… well things become less of a challenge. You have also been assigned to class three. You will be the upper dorm room for your time here. I will show you your quarters so you can change into your academy robesand after we will go to the class floor to meet the rest of your class. A good thing to note is acedmy classes are identified by 2 numbers, if they call for class 1-3 is your class this year. When you progress to second year you will then be class 2-3, and so on, the first number being your year and the second being the class."

I nodded my head in acknowledgement and asked a few other basic questions about the academy such as if there was a faster way than stairs to get up or down the academy tower, there was not. Rules i needed to be aware of which were pretty basic, don't kill anyone, don't hurt another student outside of sparring, and respect the teachers. When we got to the room i changed and kleek stayed behind to unpack her travel gear and store it. We went down to the class floor which was divided into quarters, at the center where the lines met, there were numbers that matched the class number. 1, 2, 3 and 4.

Once the rest of class 3 came down i began talking to them learning their names and the like but only 2 of them stood out to me and i knew we were going to be friends here.

Jessie Wraith, a rouge, his family a long line of rouges and known in the kingdom for their unmatched stealth.

Hellena Prideheart, a paladin mage, her family being a long line of paladins most serving as captains of the guard for different nobles as their lead commanders.

The three of use began to chat up a storm, mostly just them talking about their lives leading up to this point, jessies family wanted him to join the family history and make a name for himself, and helena having her parents require that no matter what she ensure she becomes a great paladin, and though upset about her multiclassing, they accepted it with strict requirements that she be the best at both even amongst those who were only one or the other. She needed to be the best paladin, and the best mage. As for me they already knew i was going to study each class and that i had no memory of before the last 2 months. With all the members of the classes present, 24 masters showed up, 4 from each of the 6 physical classes, warrior paladin mage geomancer archer snd ranger. They divided into 4 groups, one for each different class of the year and introduced themselves. Most of class 1-3's master level teachers seemed fairly relaxed, while the rest of the year 1's masters seemed tense.

It wasnt hard to understand why. Everyone knew i was going to be studying all 6 of the phyical classes, and when they told us the current year rankings for us based upon our initial assement, i was first of the year overall. I scored a 59/60 leaving me at 98% score. They broke down the scoring system and each physical class was scored on a 10 point scale, and that single physical classes were rated on a scale of 1-10, duals were 1-20. To pass and earn a physical class during the initial assessment, you needed to score at least 4 of 10 points, which means you essentially have a basic knowledge of that specific class and can use it to assist in battle, for warrior it means swinging a sword, mages is casting a spell and so on amd so forth. To graduate at the end of the year we would be taking an evaulation test, and must score a 6/10 on each class or we can choose to progress wothout the failing class or stay behind an extra year. Each year the scoring requirements to graduate remain the same, but the requirements to score well increase as well. Of everyone then next highest rated member was Helena, scoring 18/20 over all for a 90%. Below that was 7/10 for the single classers and that was pretty much it, everyone below me and helena were rated between 40% and 70%. Most of the higher scorers being in 1-3. On paper based on the intial we had the strongest class with an average of 70% flat, class 1-2 being next and fairly close at 65%, 1-4 coming in 3rd with 58% and 1-1 being dead last at an average score of 45%.

The masters began with their expectations during the week amd quarter as well as general information. After they were done they opened up for questions and comments at which point out guides all left and returned to their home class floor as we bagan the introductions of students to teachers.
