Seeing the expression on Solis's face, Noir was rather taken aback. Then he remembered something (thanks to all the books Butler Hans had given him, and some from Auntie Fiona as well).

"Ah," Noir said, understanding dawning on him. "You were being a gentleman? You were waiting for us to get married before we take the final step to affirm our mutual affections?" he asked.

Solis rubbed his face and drew back. "I feel like such an idiot now," he murmured. "I thought you wanted to wait until we were married – I – I didn't want to disrespect you and I didn't want you to think that I was only lusting after your beauty and I thought that…"

Noir chuckled and pulled Solis into a hug. "We were both being idiots, my silly love," he said with a laugh, and kissed Solis on the cheek. Then he moved his lips to Solis's ear and bit lightly. "Besides," Noir added. "We are going to spend our entire lives together – what's a few days here or there? Isn't that right, my love?"
