" You can hate you all you want. I'm still going to kiss you." He affirmed closing the gap between us as I involuntarily closed my eyes and his soft plump lips met mines. So velvety soft, opposite to his tough exterior. He tasted like coffee. Lightly caramelized and bitter, i don't know how long it lingered for but a moment later we parted. I fluttered my eyes opened seeing his blue ones already on me as I felt my cheeks heat up. I couldn't tell if he even liked it, but all he did was give me a devilish smirk.
Milo clapped," Yay!"
He back away, " Thomas, get the car." Colton ordered as he turned his back and walked away, some of the men following while others stayed.
I turned back to my food. Damn it. My appetite is gone. I brought my hands to my lips, the lingering presences of him still there. Somehow. Someway.
Was it going to be like this every morning?
Could I live like this?
I guess I would have to figure it out.
After Colton left I let Milo finish his breakfast as I debated whether I should jump off the roof or continue living the life I was living. However, I reminded myself this was for my mother and Milo. It wasn't their fault Colton was an ass.
" Mommy! I'm done with breakfast." Milo announced as I snapped out of my thoughts turning to him as he peered up with me with those baby blues.
I extended my hand out as I slicked back his hair properly. " Okay, what do you want to do today?" I asked him as I had previously promised to do anything he wanted.
" That's easy, I want to be with you mommy!" He beamed as his eyes lit up.
Oh my god, he looked like a cute puppy! That face was so cute! On top that he just wanted to be in my company, this little boy would definitely steel the hearts of many women. Eventually leaving them heartbroken and depression because he turned out to be just like Colton. If only I could change that?
Wait?
I could! I could make him into a nice gentleman with a fierce attitude in battle and business handling but at the end of the day when I'm old and wrinkling he will be a mama's boy! Yes! Absolutely! Perfect plan! You go Lydia. I gave myself an imaginary pat on the back.
I nodded as I stood up as I picked him up as he wrapped his tiny arms around my slender neck. Okay, he just wanted to spend some time with me? But I don't know what to do? Or what I couldn't do? Wasn't he suppose to have a schedule ? Attend daycare maybe? I looked at the bodyguards who remained emotionless. Damn it. The only person who could possibly guide me was Thomas, but he was long gone wherever with Colton. So I was left as a lonely tigress all on her own to explore this madness of a jungle.
I walked up to a random man who tower over me as I spoke, " Hey, um does Milo have a schedule?"
Silence
Maybe he didn't heard me? Ha. Okay second try.
"" Excuse me, I was just wondering if Milo had a schedule? You know certain things he should do throughout the day?" I repeated.
Nothing.
He stared somewhere over my head as if I didn't even exist. Remaining stoic and with his hands folded in front of him.
I guess I would have to play the game.
I quickly covered Milo's ear as the little devil came out of me," You know me and the boss man have a little contract so if you don't answer the damn question. I'm tell him you forced Milo and I to walk out the house because you didn't want to talk to us." I menacly threatened as I saw a drip of sweat slide down his face. Oh yes. Please do fear me. I will snatch your soul away.
He opened his mouth as he began stuttering," We- well- um- um.. you see.. I don't...."
Oh gosh, this one is a slow talker. I'm going be here all day! I internally sighed as I waited for him to finish.
" Ay yo boss lady!" A familiar voice called out. Boss lady, huh? Haven't been called that in quiet a while. Bringing back the good old memories when everyone use to kneel at my mercy. But I am a redeemed member of the lord so I digress.
I turned my head to see the familiar guy. If I recalled he was the one he sat next to me in the car. And the guy Milo told that Thomas was his favorite uncle. I blinked as I realized I actually hadn't memorized his face, just his voice. How could I describe him? Well, he was definitely tall, slim built, light brown straight hair with honey caramel eyes. His skin was tanned as if he had been in the sun all day. He wore a bright smile, one out of place for his occupation. Everything seemed like he could pass a stranger test except for the scar trailed down on the left side of his race running from his cheek to his neck.
I tilted my head as I wondered how he had gotten it. Did Colton do that? Or was it an attack from a rival? Maybe I would find out if I got him to trust me? One day.
I turned my attention towards him as he called out again, " Ay yo boss lady! The boss told me to come and fetch you. Something about helping you around the place?" He repeated as he stood in front of me.
Oh Colton thought I need some help, how thoughtful. Why not call 9-1-1 ( the police) while you're at it!
I gritted my teeth at the comment as I looked at him for the answer, " Thank goodness. Do you know if Milo has a schedule? Like what is he suppose to do after Colton leaves for work?" I questioned as he scratched the back of his head.
" Well technically he just stays in the house until Colton gets back." He sheepishly answered as I blinked. What? Are you telling me this child does not get social interaction from the outside world? The hell he hugged me at the park. He wants to get out.
" What! How about yesterday at the park?" I asked.
" Well with the boss permission we took him out. But other than that no." He affirmed my exact thoughts.
Poor baby, this was my call from the higher source to help him. There must be something I could do ?
" What does he do in the house?"
" Anything, from playing with his toys, to read to literally nothing. Like the boss said before he usually doesn't interact with many people. He hates strangers to touch him. " He paused as he looked softly at me. " But I guess you the exception."
" So no schedule?" I asked like a parrot as he shook his head. No wonder a house full of men and not one could use their brain.
I sighed. Well if I was his mommy, then I was on mommy duty. I was in charge. Follow me boys.
" Fine then. I would just have to make a schedule then." I walked away as he followed. I turned the corner and his footsteps echoed. I stopped and turned around. " Why are you following me?"
He smirked, " I just told you the boss man asked me to. When Thomas is here he'll watch you, when he's not I'll be here." He replied honestly.
I mean he was right to do so. I was still a completely stranger. They still didn't know if I could harm Milo. I understood so I would just have to get them to trust me.
" Okay. Can you at least tell me your name then?" I purposed.
" You can call me Robertson, Miss Langsley." He informed as I internally winced at the fake name I had given myself. I mean I know I wanted them to trust me, but I was being a total hypocrite. For good reason, I told myself.
" Just Kaira. Call me Kaira." I suggested.
" Ok, Kaira." He restated trying to get use to the weird sounding name that escaped his mouth.
" Kaira?" Milo questioned popping his little head up from his shoulder. With a furrowed brow befuddled by the name. " Mommy, I thought your name is mommy, not Kaira?"
I smiled looked at him with such love, " My name is mommy, but just like you Milo I have a name too. So does daddy and uncle Thomas and Robertson." I explained the silly misunderstanding as I remembered the first time I heard my father's name though it was different circumstances. Hearing the name of Lucien Thornton made people shiver in fear. Hearts pulpiated, the white in their eyes were predominant, and they barely lifted their gaze to look him in his cold silver eyes. But as a little three year old girl the term father and Lucien meant nothing more than someone I knew was extremely protecting. I blinked taking myself out of my thoughts as I looked at the cute boy liking at me. " But you can only call me, Mommy okay?"
He grinned ear to ear, loving the fact I wasn't just a stranger but someone that well always been close to him, " Okay! Mommy!" He rejoiced hugging me tighter. I giggled involuntarily as the child in my arms made me feel so happy. I peered my head up as Robertson mouth was wide opened.
" Okay now let's go play!" I blurted as we went the playroom as the three of us played and fiddled with the plethora of small to gigantic model playthings, of course without thought designer brand. Robertson became a soft teddy bear as his voice being all high pitched pretending to be a superhero just to make Milo laugh. To be honest I laughed too. It just too funny seeing a mobster all tough and macho play princess.
I looked at Milo wondering what could be good for kids his age? " Hey, Robertson play with Milo for a bit. I want to make his schedule." I voiced as Robertson nodded I turned to Milo, " Hey, baby mommy has to do something. Can you play with uncle Robertson for a bit?"
" Okay, mommy!" He accepted as he surprisingly kissed me on the cheek as I kissed him back. Walking to the corner grabbing a piece of paper and pen.Mmm. How should his schedule be like? I tapped the pen against my chin. He needs his sleep and nap time. At the same time he needs to play and socialize with other people. My hands began writing down as my brain assorted the rest. A few minutes later I was done. I crawled back over to Robertson and Milo and passed Robertson the schedule.

" This seems doable." Robertson acquired as he had the paper back to me, and the day followed as so.
Soon the full moon was in motion. Milo was actually drained from the eventful list of things I had planned. Now we where on his tiny( not really tiny, made for a rich child that could fit at least four people) but alas there he was freshly bathe smelling like soft baby mint as I laid next to him. I had already told him to go to sleep however he insisted he wanted to wait until his daddy came. I wish I could give him an answer when he was coming but unfortunately I didn't know the answer to that. I fairly knew the mafia didn't have a certain time rather it was your life. Twenty four- seven , seven days a way, every minute of everyday, nonstop.
Very tiring if I do say so myself. All I could do was said okay, and snuggled close to him until he fell asleep. Examining his baby face, he was the spitting image of Colton. Definitely a clone, however as I looked closely his hair wasn't black as his, rather a chocolate color. If it wasn't from Colton, than it was from his mother. His biological mother.Come to think of it I hadn't seen any pictures around the house about her. Only Colton and Milo. I wonder what had happened? I heard rumours that the Dragon Leader had fallen in love, and even married. So what happened to her? Did Colton actually do something to her? Or did the life he lived did something to her? I wonder what kind of woman she was? Must have been some woman to handle Colton. I chuckled to myself. I bet she was a kind woman, and that's who Milo takes after, or so I wish to believe.
Then the door knob turned I slightly moved adjusting Milo's head onto the pillow instead my arm as Colton peered through the door. He still in his white button shirt but with a face that looked he had just had a business deal go haywire. I placed a finger over my lip as he looked at me and then Milo as he understood he was quiet asleep. He nodded as he walked forward moving to the other side of the bed checking up on his son. Remarking-ably he came earlier than expected.
Thomas must be working hard today. I wiggled myself to the edge as he knelled down looking at his son wishing to have seen him wake once again.
There was something about that sweet look that made my heart melt. Just this once, I would give him the satisfaction. " Milo was waiting for you to come and say goodnight, but he just fell asleep." I lowly whispered as he turned his eyes to me.
" He waited?" He asked curiously as if surprised Milo would wait for him.
I nodded as he turned back his hand rubbing his little chubby cheeks." Well good night." I excused myself walking towards the door imagining a beautiful hot shower when his voice stopped my stride.
" Wait for me outside. I need to speak with you.." He commanded as I didn't even dare look back at him as I simply walked out. Ugh, I stood by the door my legs shaking. What could he want from me? I rubbed my eyes wanting to claw them out so I didn't have to see his face.
I just wanted to sleep.
But what did he want to say to me?
Yayyy! Another chapter down! I was really thinking hard about how Lydia( Kaira) was going to adjust to this new life. Especially with Milo being so loving and cute, but Colton being dark and handsome! What could he want to said to Lydia! Well, stayed tuned for next chapter! :)
