Madeline’s POV
(A few weeks later)
I’ve started reading “Every Crowd Has a Silver Lining” to better understand Julian and his vague message I can only assume is meant for me. So far the book is enthralling and deep yet humorous… if that makes any sense.
The overall plotline is rich and intriguing, but Julian tells it in a comedic format. And, if I’m being honest, each page makes me feel a mix of emotions such as pride that Julian accomplished his dream and has become a writer. But also guilt because no one was there to support him during that process. Admiration for how he carved his own path all by himself. But also more overwhelming guilt that we never stayed in touch.
Well, not to the best of my faded knowledge.
My phone probably holds more memories than I do, but the only way to unlock it is by understanding past me. Who knows, his contact could be saved on that jinxed device and I could never know.
No, I will solve this.
