Madeline’s POV
(A few days later)
“Then what’s on your mind?”
“…I’m not sure. I’m glad he took the news well, after all, that means he won’t have to drive me everywhere because I’ll be more independent, but… I’m still not sure.”
“Sure that he…?” My psychotherapist urges me to go on.
“Wants me to.”
He sighed and took in a deep breath, “Madeline, while it’s good to care about what your partner wants or likes, you also need to keep yourself in mind.”
“He is still with you for a reason. And relationships aren’t about what one half wants, the other needs to be willing to make sacrifices.”
“I know, but recently it feels like he’s doing all the sacrificing and I’m not playing a role in this relationship at all,” I explain, “It was our anniversary and he planned something, he makes an effort, he takes care of the dates.”
“I understand… but what is keeping you from planning something for him as well?”
