Madeline’s POV
Andrew?
I hit the brakes as he comes crashing down onto my windshield. His face contorts under the impact and his spread-out arms grab hold of my side-view mirror. The honking grows even louder in protest, but it doesn’t seem like he cares.
I drove away to avoid him! Why is he here?!
My whole reality changed no more than a few minutes ago and it’s like I’m meeting him for the first time all over again. My anger consumes me and I find myself rolling down the window to shout at Andrew.
“What are you doing?! Get off the road!” He jumps.
“Madeline? I- Okay, we can pull over in another area, I just lost my cat and-”
“You have a cat?! What else do I not know?”
Andrew scoops down to lift the supposed cat and makes it across the street just as the lights turn green. I drive heatedly after him and barely park my car before storming out. I don’t bother to shut the door behind me or stop the engine.
