"Hello Miss Soleil-Venetia. Sorry it took us so long to get to you with the interview process. Thank you for your patience. We have had an unexpected amount of people apply for the fall semester this year." Professor Ozpin would say, giving the young black haired woman sitting before him a small smile.
"It is alright Professor. I saw the line when I arrived. And I was even a good hour early." Lilac would say gripping the water bottle she had brought with her tight in her hands. She was jonesin from not having had a chance to fix one of her more prevalent addictions for the last three hours.
"So from what I have read about your resume. You are from the kingdom of Atlas. What made you want to come all the way to Vale to pursue a huntsman education here?" Ozpin would ask sliding a coffee mug her way.
"I love the atmosphere of Vale, and the people who reside here. I would come here every summer to visit my dad. So it kinda became a second home for me." Lilac would say taking a sip of the coffee that was given to her. It wasn't necessarily the fix she needed. But it was one that would somewhat help her forget about the other one.
"You want to be closer to your father coming to this academy?" Ozpin would ask in an inquisitive tone, taking note of the look she got in her eye to the question.
"Yeah…Something like that Professor." She would mutter gripping the coffee cup in her hand pretty hard. Any harder and she would've broken the cup in her hand. But luckily if that happened. It wouldn't really do any real damage to her since she had plenty of aura to go around at the moment.
"I could also see that your mother donated a rather large sum of money to the school along with your application. Did you know about that?" Ozpin would ask the young girl. Getting quite personal with the questions that he was asking her. Personally he wanted to see whether or not someone like her should even attend a school like this. Even one that typically could lead to the possibility of death if she weren't careful.
"I didn't know about that, no…But that probably explains me getting accepted for the interview as quickly as I did." She would say before taking another slow sip from her glass of coffee.
"Well worry not my dear. Just because she did that doesn't mean we are going to view you any differently than any other of our top ranking applicants. Without the donation, you are still a part of." Ozpin would finally set his glass down, removing his glasses and wiping them down with a cloth before glancing back at the girl. "However, are you sure you want to become a huntress? Amidst the increase of grimm activity?"
Lilac's initial response in her head, would be so she could stay away from her mother for a while longer. But that wouldn't be a good answer to give the headmaster of the entire academy. It surely wouldn't do anything for her if she wanted a satisfactory response from him either.
Taking a deep breath. She would think back to the time of her life which was a rather dark period. How she was wasting away, until something caused her to change, to look at things a bit differently. And it helped her figure out what she wanted to really do with her life. Which was helping those who truly needed the help, and to make at least the world around her a better place than she had it. So that others can have it better.
"I want to make better use of my life. And I thought the best way of doing that was by becoming a huntress. So that I can make a difference in the lives of others." She would say loosening her grip of the coffee cup in her hand. "So that I can make my dad proud."
Ozpin sat there for a moment in silence, taking in the words that she had said. And the amount of time it had taken her to even formulate her response. He would have to see how she performed in the setting of the academy, in order to get a proper read on her. For a special consideration if the need be arisen.
"Well you have definitely taken the first step in making your father proud Miss Soleil-Venetia. I do hope you enjoy seeing the campus from the eyes of a student rather than from the eyes of an outsider." Ozpin would say giving the girl a small smile before standing and making his way out of the office, leaving her with her thoughts. And possible shock.
