"I don't think I should be here."

"What do you want?" Amber asked when her eyes adjusted to the lighting, seeing a smiling Sage in front of her.

'What's her problem? Last time I checked she completely came at me at the cafeteria.'

"Heyyy Audrey, were you asleep, I'm sorry to wake you." She smirks her hand on her hip.

Amber deadpan, "It's Amber and yes I was asleep, what is it? Am I in trouble?"

"Of course not, Amber...I just wanted to see you."

'See me?'

"That's surprising…"

"Come on now—" Sage placed a hand over Amber's shoulder, "Don't be like that, actually that is what I wanted to talk to you about. I'm sorry Audrey for how I've treated you, I guess it was just I'm incapable of being cool with bad manners...also it's not only you I treat that way." She blinks her eyelashes.

'How could someone be so open with that?'

"Oh…" Amber gave her a keen nod, "Thank you, I guess, then if that's all, good night Sage—" She was about to close the door when Sage stopped it.

"Wait!" She pointedly shouted and Amber raised an eyebrow at her tone.

"What I meant was, I wanna make it up to you." Her face goes serious for a minute," My friends and I are taking a little night out, you know have a few laughs. I can also show you around a bit, I'm sure you're curious about the outside." A mischievous smile edged on her lips.

"I...don't know Sage I don't think I should just wander off without anyone's permission—"

"I mean, you know I have authority too, right? You'll be with me, there's no problem there."

"Yeah but—"

"Come on, I'll even let the others know when we're back," She nudged her, "Relax a bit, I could tell moving to a new place has been hard on you. Also, it'll be much harder next week. You might as well exercise those joints now, right?"

"I guess…" Amber exhaled a deep breath, Sage said it won't be a problem and she was one of the elite's so…" Okay, I'll come." She shrugs and Sage's smile widens.

'She's sure smiling a lot today.'

"I'll go get ready then." She says and Sage stops her once again.

"Make sure to wear something good." She explains, "You're gonna have to look your best."

"O...kay." She then closed the door in a smiling Sage's face and looked to get dressed.

She has to look her best?

***

"Okay I'm ready." She says when she exits the room and Sage nods, inspecting her outfit.

"Uhm...is that your best?" She cringed.

"I don't have a lot of options."

 "Whatever I guess it'll do."

She wore a beige V-neck sweater vest, with a loose blouse shirt underneath and a short white shirt, with small white boots. Her hair was pulled back in a messy bun.

"Let's go." Sage walked through the halls with Amber stalking behind her.

The academy was quiet and dark with dimly lit lights. No one was in the halls nor were they in the usual meeting area.

Sage didn't pass from the front, instead she made a suspicious turn down another staircase where they walked out of and ended up in the garden.

"Why didn't we take the original exit?" Amber asked, and Sage quieted her.

"Shh, just be quiet and keep your head down, we do this all the time…" She peeks out the bushes at the guards and then grabs Amber's hand, "Besides this is the more fun way."

"Whose we?" She questions and Sage groans.

"Can you stop with the questions and follow me?" They then made their way past the guards at the front and to the gate but stayed at the end in the dark.

"Pst…" They stayed low as Sage called out from over the gate, and with a signal, a little distance of the gate was cracked.

Sage then pulls Amber's hand so that they can crouch through and once on the other side, she then gently closes it back and turns back to Amber.

"Boo!" A hand snakes around her mouth, stopping her from screaming as she fights against the person. Sage just laughs when a guy reveals himself from around her, "Oliver stops playing."

Oliver turns to face Amber who was still shaken up, "Calm down sweetheart, afraid of a little scare?"

"No…" She fiddles with her hands once again as the guy stares down at her, he then lifts her chin, a cocky smile on his face, and lowers his head to observe her, "Damn you're hot…" He grins, and at the same time two girls emerge from the darkness.

"Leave her alone, Oliver." One of the dark figures scolds him on the shoulder.

Once the two were out of the darkest, their faces were revealed. They were really pretty but on the level of overly fancy.

"Rosie, Isabelle, this is Amber, the girl I've been telling you about."

Rosie had a short cut style, curving to the edges on both sides of her jaw. She was shorter than Isabelle next to her, and wore bright red lipstick, with a little glitter. Her skin was like a pearl, tan and shining. She wore a black sleeveless crop top with red high heels white flare pants that suited her small figure and a scarf.

Isabelle had long hair which she wore a ponytail, her features were slim and defined, with perfect cheek structure. She wore black flats, with a matching long black shirt cut on the sides with a long sleeve brown turtleneck and a purse on her shoulder.

"She's the girl who's been telling us about?" Rosie asked and both of the girl's eyebrows furrowed for a second but then returned to normal. Amber decided to brush it aside,

"Are you guys ready to go?" Sage removed the long black jacket she was wearing to reveal a whole different outfit, she wore black tights slightly over the knee, a white heart-shaped crop top with straps, and a black blazer over.

'Why are they dressed so fancy?'

Before she could ask where they were going, Oliver rushed off onto the stone bridge road, "Last one there—" He jogs off and Sage rolls her eyes, slowly walking behind him as well as the other girls.

Amber took time to watch the area, she leaned her arms on the side of the bride and looked down to only see black.

"Trust me when I say you don't want to fall down there," Isabelle warns and Amber immediately moves from the edge, continuing her scroll behind them.

Oliver was already out of sight when they made it to the town. The same town where all the nice people greeted Amber. It was quiet, apart from the few people who wandered in the roads, the rest were already inside and maybe asleep.

There were lights along the road so that they could see where they were going but a shiver still crawled up Amber's hand. Though Sage claims she has the authority to do what she wants, why did she still feel so wrong and the further they walked the more uncomfortable she got.

They turned a corner where there were more lights and talking could be heard. She passed some men sitting at the side of the road sharing a cigarette and eyeing her as she walked

"Pretty lady." The drunk man told his friend and Amber immediately quickened her steps.

"We're here," Sage told her when they stopped in front of a lighted house. Music could be heard quietly from the outside and the front was badly designed, with a crooked wooden door, and an upside down sign with words written in a language she couldn't read.

"I don't think I should b-be here." She turns to Sage worriedly but she just dismisses her by opening the door.

The music could be heard louder and Amber shrank at the sight that beholden inside.
