Chapter 2: Training with a bit of trouble

"T-training?? But didnt I just get into this world why're we training already????" I yelled.

[#1 We are training now because the earlier you start the better it will be in the long run and the quicker you can get adjusted to using a sword. #2 Don't raise your voice at me again or there will be consequences. Load the game into the VR headset and set-up your character. I need to make some modifications so I can send your physical body into it instead of just your consciousness.]

"But why my physical body, wouldn't that mean that every time I die and get hit I would feel actual pain?" I asked in a lightly distressed but polite tone.

[That's the point, you need to be able to fear getting hurt and killed. Enough so that your body will begin to react instantly in a fight to avoid getting hit by fatal blows or just dodging and attacking in general. Basically I am training your body to instantly react as if each limb has its own mind. So that even if you lose your sight you'd still win the fight.]

"That's- kind of cool." I said

[Oh? Cool? You'll probably regret saying that later but okay. First I'll teach you basic sword moves so you don't instantly die but you need to load into the game first.]

I nodded, then I grabbed the VR headset, plugged it in and typed in the code for the game.

My surroundings changed and I was in a black room. There was a podium with a hand shaped cut out, in the center of the room. I decided to put my hand inside of it since I assumed it was what you were supposed to do.

The handprint started to glow and I retracted my hand. Then there was a mechanical female voice and it said.

After it said this a keyboard appeared in front of me. I decided to use my first name.

Soon enough the surroundings shifted and my clothes changed. I was wearing black hakama trousers with a white shirt that had long sleeves.

And I was standing at the top of a stairway, looking back all I could see was clouds. Looking back up at the entrance to the village I decided to enter.

As I walked into the village I decided to look for some information.

"Oh hello! You must be new here, I am Xian Lao. If I may ask, what could your name be?" Xian Lao asked me.

"My name is Asriel. Could you please tell me where we are specifically? I'm new here so I'm afraid I don't know much." I asked humbly

[Oh? You've never spoken to me like that.. Could it be love at first sight?! I could make that happen if that's what you really want.]

'Wait for real- I mean NO! But then again he is kinda~ NOPE, I'm good, master.'

But the worst part is they can turn you into a eunuch if they want to, and you can't complain." Xian Lao said.

"Interesting…. I guess I'll just have to win." I said with a confident voice.

"I mean, you could try. But don't blame me if you become a eunuch" Xian Lao said while sighing.

"Oh? You doubt my skill? How about we test your assumption, hmm?" I said provocatively.

"Well, this will be good practice for me since i've never held a sword before." I said out loud on accident.

"Y-you've never even touched a sword and yet you're being so arrogant?!?!? Are you looking down on me or something??" Xian Lao said with an angry look on his face.

"Ah- that- I-" I couldn't even form words.

"No no, I understand. I will come at you with full strength then." Xian Lao said to me, staring me straight in the eyes with a glare.

"But- I-"

"PREPARE YOURSELF."

"But I don't even have a sword- '' Before I could even finish talking I was interrupted.

"Yuan Sect sword style: Basic Technique: Thrust of-." Xian Lao yelled.

I know this is shameless, but my first move was to hit him while he was talking.

*BANG*

I punched him in his left cheek as hard as I could. He stumbled back and tripped on his pants. He fell to the ground and his nose started slightly bleeding.

"You shameless bastard!" Xian Lao roared.

He tried to get up but I was already above him.

*BANG*

I kicked him in the chest when he was about to give up, he was vigilant this time though. He caught my foot with his left hand so I went to hit him in the temple with my left and the right at the same time.

*WOOSH*

He grabbed my left fist with his right hand and tried to move his head in the opposite direction of the right fist. But I still hit him since I'm flexible.

I soon noticed something was wrong, my fist didnt hit him, only air. And for some reason I was on the ground looking up at the sky.

Somehow I was flung away, all I remember is hearing a 'DING!' sound, then everything went black.

"Oi! Get up kid!" Someone yelled in my ear.

"Wh- Where am i?" I asked with a strained voice.

"You're on the ground about 30feet from where you were fighting. You were embedded into the wall when you got flung by a senior." The man said.

"Senior? Who?" I asked, trying to say as little as possible since my whole body was in pain.

"Senior Xian Tian, the older brother of Xian Lao. He came when he heard his disciple/little brother was being challenged. He was there during the beginning of the fight and decided to throw you away once he saw you were aiming at Xian Laos temple." He said.

"I see, well thank you for telling me this sir." I said.

'hitting temple can cause death if it's hit at the perfect angle. Or just hard enough'

The man started walking away when a thought popped into my head.

"Wait! Isn't Xian Lao a cultivator? So wouldn't he be perfectly fine even if I hit him?" I asked in slight confusion with a strained voice.

"Ah well you see, Xian Tian is… A bit of a.. Super overprotective and overbearing sibling. So you may want to watch your back when you enter the sect." The man said.

"Enter the sect? What do you mean? The fight never finished, I got flung away." I said.

"Well, Xian Tian interfered to 'save' his brother. So that disqualified him and made you the winner. It's quite lucky since you managed to go that far without him using his sword. You'd be down in one swing if he used it." The man said while walking away laughing.

'Huh, that's pretty interesting… WAIT did he say that I.. Won?'

'Sy- Master, did he say that I won just now???'

[I dunno, did he? What would be the most logical thing to do if you wanna find that out? Idiot, half brained piece of shit.]

Explanation Time!!

HP = Hit Points, which is how much damage you can take.

STR = Strength, which is how much damage you can deal.

DEX = Dexterity, which assists in weapon mastery. Basically makes you use your weapon or weapons, better.

CON = Constitution, which affects all stats besides INT, and QI. Basically a + however much is in the stat.

INT = Intelligence, increases reaction time and decreases skill CD and launch time.

QI = Qi, basically the cultivator version of MP. (Im lazy and don't feel like explaining)

SP = Stamina Points, the points exhausted when physical skills are used, such as [Dash], [Slash] Etc Etc.

Your probably like, 'Why are his stats like this?'

They are this way because each level brings up each stat by 5, there are no stat points.

But stats can be raised through working out as well. So pretty much if you want a specific class/occupation you must work for it and get the required stats.

[Dexterity] Can be raised by repeatedly practicing with a weapon, the system will stimulate your nerves and muscles making it easier for you to learn when your dexterity stat increases. (At least it will do that for Asriel, for normal players it just Increases the chance for a critical. By .1% Each stat point) As long as you train with your weapon, or use it in general for a set amount of time you can increase the stat. Otherwise it will stay as 0.

[Constitution] As explained earlier, it can increase every stat except QI, and INT. As long as you exercise your full body for a set amount of time you can increase the stat. Otherwise it will stay as 0.
