Just as Jimmy had said. The tall call center changed appearance. It transformed into an sinister castle, like something from a fantasy movie. The walls were now like dark gray stones. Red and blue thunder flashing occasionally at the top. It was a strange and eerie sight. Police and s.w.a.t units surrounded the building. News reporters stood by the sidewalk. They were held back by s.w.a.t teams with riot shields. To Spencer's surprise, they let them pass.
"I hope you all die in there." One of the officers said. That made Spencer feel horrible, but he ignored it. The fear of the dungeon was stronger than feeling hurt. Once inside the former office building. They saw a small room. The walls were made of stone and it smelled like foliage.
There were two other champion parties making them twelve in total. Each group's leaders met at the center.
"I'm Flash, my team has no name or faction." Flash said as he looked at the next champion. Flash looked like a knight with silver armor. His ears were pointed like Link's from The Legend Of Zelda. Flash nodded his head as if gesturing the next person to introduce themselves.
"They call me Rose. My team is new to this whole thing..so. I hope we can all get along. We just want to survive." Rose said.
Rose was armored too. Her armor was made to show her feminine curves. Her helmet was strange, it was like a cylinder. Smaller at the bottom, larger at the top. So Spencer couldn't tell what race she was.
"I'm Princess..and no I don't have a royalty complex. My title is The Vampire Princess." Spencer felt the need to clear that up.
Maybe getting a new name would help, but now is not that time for that, he thought.
"No worries. Nothings been right since they showed up. No point in trying to be normal." Flash said.
Spencer noticed a little figure with big black eyes standing at the doorway. Spencer had seen alien greys in holograms and in live government debates, but this was something else.
"The dungeon is now closed off. The trial will begin soon." The alien said.
"What the fuck? You God damned bastards!" Flash leaped and thrusted his sword at it. The sword went I into its head, but there was no blood. It stepped aside as if his sword was a hologram itself.
"You thought you could kill me? Well, shit, Thats like a caveman trying to beat up a tank with a piece of wood. Any further attempts will be punished." The alien said.
"Shit..this is awkward." Flash said as he dropped his head and walked back to his party. Spencer was speechless. At both the fact it didn't die and Flash's assasination attempt. Killing the alien didn't even cross his mind, despite hating the grey things.
"The rules of dungeons are simple. Defeat the boss and reap the rewards. Halls have lesser rewards, but bosses carry a higher teir reward. What could it be? Maybe a fancy sword? Or maybe a leveling potion? Who knows! Thats your job to find out." The alien said.
It looked rather eerie to see it speak with its creepy slit mouth. Even worse that it speaks with emotion while making no expressions at all. It almost looked like a puppet or doll.
"Oh, yeah. And only one person gets the high tier drop. The rest of your party can suck it. And the opposing teams can suck it even more. Let the trial begin." The alien vanished.
Spencer noticed a flashing sign on his hud. PVP allowed it read.
Everyone in the room was staring at one another.
"Alright. Lets clear one thing. No pvp. We'll do a mini game to see who gets the high teir drop." Flash said.
"A mini game? What is this? Mario party? I say whoever does the most work should get it." A tiny fairy girl said.
Spencer's eyes went down and he felt his heart sink. This wasn't going to end well. At the end of the dungeon, shit was going to get complicated.
The teams split up and went seprate ways. Spencer stood before what looked like a door. It seemed more like a slab of stone than it did a door though.
"How do we open it? Blaze, maybe you can punch thru…" Before Spider could finish. The door slid upwards revealing a room.
The room itself was dark, but Spencer could see torches with blue fire on the walls.
"I'm getting Zelda temple vibes." Spencer said.
"Who's Zelda?" Blaze said.
"Don't worry about it. Lets go in." Spencer said. They entered the room.
"Hey you!" A voice called.
They quickly noted a jail cell alone he left and right walls.
"What the Hell..how did you…" Spencer's face went pale as he saw an alien grey. Shackled to the cell.
"It's an alien!" Spider exclaimed excitedly.
The voice of the alien announcer spoke, but Spencer couldn't see the orb or the halogram.
"You have discovered what you call an alien grey! These guys are one of many super powered alien civilizations. Just so you understand. You humans are like caveman standing before a god. Unless you become an outcast like this fellow. Then you become a dungeon asset. Champions can either save these guys or kill them. They are free game."
The "kill them" part left a bad feeling to the whole thing.
"These guys are savages." Blaze said.
"I know. Lets get him out. Maybe he can help us." Spencer said.
"I can help you. Thing is, you can't get me out yet. You have to find the keys." The alien said.
"Why are you in here?" Spencer asked.
"I ugh….I'd rather not talk about that.you don't wanna know.." The alien said.
That was oddly suspicious, Spencer thought.
"That's suspicious! We can't trust you." Spider said.
The alien turned and facepalmed.
"Fine…I started an alien cult here in Earth. Then I married a crazy religious lady who worshipped me like I was some god. It got kinda out of hand..a few years later. A Pleiadian star ship arrested me. And here I am." The alien said.
Spencer's eyes were wide and his brows were up.
"Ookaaayy. Thats weird. How do we find the key?" Spencer asked.
The alien grabbed the bars.
"So theres this monster. It looks like a pocket pussy, but its not. Its like a worm."
"Woah, Whoah. What are you..how do you even know what a pocket..whatever is?" Spencer felt very uncomfortable even bringing it up. He had to though. It was important to pick at its head to learn more about the greys.
"We've been watching humans since the dinosaur era. And no, you were never monkeys. We actually created monkeys from humans…but thats off topic." The alien said.
"So back to the point. So we just need to kill this worm and hope it drops the key?" Spencer said.
"Yeah. These worms have a name, but I never bothered remembering it. I just call em the pocket pussy." The alien said.
Spencer cringed this time, but he didn't interrupt the alien this time.
"These worms eat all the trash and items they can get. They can even eat champions, take their armor, gear, weapons, and spit them out butt naked." The alien gestured with his hands. They moved like if he was selling an awesome product.
Spencer looked back with a look of disbelief.
Blaze raised his shoulder as of saying 'I don't know'
Spider was holding her mouth trying to to laugh. It wasn't working well, because she was giggling.
Spencer looked back at the alien.
"You're serious?"
"I'm dead serious about all this. I just want to get out and go home. My days of hitting ass are over." The alien said.
Spencer took a deep breath. He couldn't take this alien seriously. This whole dungeon started to feel like a joke. The alien greys had serious debates with congress. In once instance, they debated about the poor circulation of wealth. In another, about their black projects being a direct trigger for war.
They've made many serious speeches that aired to everyone. But the champion games were silly. Like some immoral joke that disregarded life and the value of living. Even the announcer alien sounded like this was some football game speaker.
"Fucking Hell…we'll help you then." Spencer said.
