On the eve of the Li and Huang families' plan to get their children Bao and Jia engaged, Liqin develops an insecurity for his long cherished feelings for Jia. Bao on the other hand faces an assault on the snow-capped peaks of Cervinia. As the families get together to unravel the truth behind the assault and protect their children from the danger lurking in the darkness it opens up and heals past wounds of betrayal, hurt and grudge of the elders as they seek to forgive each other for the sake of their children.

The Storm That Stilled The Surging Sea

The next morning the security team along with the police officials visited the hospital to take Bao's testimony.


Liqin handed over the new phone to Bao and said, "The display of your old phone has been broken, let's check whether the video has been auto backed up."


The whole team watched as Bao keyed in his password. The backup retrieved the video. The security team immediately transferred the video to the laptop, and they watched the events of that morning in awe.


Two ladies were having an emotional argument as Bao approached, and said, "What was that noise all about?"


The girl in coffee brown hair said, "There's nothing to worry about. Let us leave this place before another storm. Be quick."


"I think we should get inside the villa first and have a cup of coffee first. My team is on the way."


"We can have coffee later. The helicopter is still waiting for us."


The girl in the black hair walked ahead, reached out for his hand, and said, "I am sorry but we are leaving now. There are no buts and ifs about that decision."


As she pulled him by the hand, three strangers walked in their faces covered with masks. One of them had a huge scar on his face. The other two were Han Ru and Cao Shan. The man with a large scar walked ahead, held the girl in coffee brown hair at gunpoint, and said, "Wow it's nice to view this romantic moment, the only concern is, that it might not last long."


Cao Shan added, "I don't think we should get ourselves muddled into this again."


The man with the scar said, "I have lost much, to not get even with him. There is no turning back now. If you guys turn away, I am sorry I'll have to dig into your caskets buried away."


He then hurled the girl in the brown hair towards Cao Shan, and said, "Hold her tight while I deal with him."


As he walked towards Bao, he said, "Do not make any futile attempts, else your friend might not see the day's progress. I have nothing against them, other than with your father; I am going to make sure he feels the emptiness, that I have felt all these years."


Bao turned to the brown-haired girl as she struggled in his grasp and replied, "What do you mean?"


"I have been waiting for years now, for a day like this. I thought things would end on the day he lost his firstborn, but his wife survived to bear him an heir. In my attempt to wipe out his family, I even accidentally ended up slaughtering the Chang family, but he still survived. If you do not want the lady to be hurt you better not resist, or she will lose her life."


As they were talking, the sound of the rotor blades of the helicopter filled the snow-clad terrain.


Cao Shan looked up replied, "We need to get out of here. Let us forget and bury the hatchet. So much time has already passed."


The man in the mask turned around and said, "You guys have not lost your inheritance, family, and identity; hence you do not know the feeling of it."


Han walked ahead, held his hand, and replied, "Now is not the time to discuss the past, we might even lose the present, and our children's future if we don't leave this place now."


As they were arguing amongst themselves, the girl in the brown hair in a quick reflex action kicked the man who was holding her tight, and pounced upon the masked man. In the struggle that followed her fingernails scratched through his neck. He immediately hit her hard on the head and she tumbled down the snow below.


The man then turned to shoot Bao, but the girl in the black hair pushed his hands aside, and the bullet hit the legs of Bao. As Bao struggled with him to get the gun from his hands, Han Ru, hit him on his head and chest with a strong blow, and he fainted.


At this point, the video blackened out.
