The simple life of not so simple boys

- A beautiful city ... - I drawled, when we arrived at about noon where our temporary companions were striving.

- Great, isn't it? - Emma smiled. - Actually, the festival itself, when guests and all sorts of tourists will come, will be in a month, in August. And now we are preparing and rehearsing. We are volunteers, and we will also help our friends with theatrical performance and procession. But now you can see everything calmly, without crowds of people. And Edinburgh itself is a very interesting city. This is why we have been coming here for the second summer. And the hotel will be quite inexpensive. Many of our people spend the night in a tent camp, it's more fun. At this time, the main rehearsals are held, which can be viewed for free, and volunteers are still entitled to various discounts in museums.

Harry chuckled oddly when Emma mentioned the campground, but didn't add anything.

- You didn't know about all this, did you, Nart? - Jess squinted slyly. - Yes, RJ?

We changed our names a bit because Harry said that the name "Naruto" is difficult to pronounce in English. I don't know how "RJ" came out of his "Harry", but he introduced us that way, the guy learns quickly, he didn't get burned up in front of "Muggles" either.

- Blew it, - I sighed with a fake smile, smiling broadly. - Yes, you are right, girls, we just went with you, - it occurred to me that here, too, women can be insidious and very clever. - When else can you meet such beauties? And if you succeed, then catch your luck by the tail. RJ and I just had nothing to do, and stifling London was sick of it. So it seemed like a great idea to hit the road in good company to change location.

- Okay, - Emma adjusted her hair. - Then accompany us, we will register as volunteers, and then we will walk with you in Edinburgh.

* * *

Despite the fact that the festival had not yet begun, preparations for it were in full swing. They hung all sorts of posters on which I understood only the numbers "1996".

When asked about Harry's numbers, he said it was a year designation, and I found it a little strange. There is a completely different time frame. And Harry also added that this is "the time from the birth of Christ", which completely confused me. In our country, everything is considered differently and much simpler: a year is signified by a twelve-year cycle and an animal in this cycle, everything is clear, for example, I was born in the year of the tiger of the sixth cycle of the era of the Hidden Villages. And here it is somehow too confused.

The people were having fun and having fun, sang songs, danced, and Harry and I looked at all this with all our eyes. There were also holidays in Konoha, but here everything is on a large scale, and this is just a rehearsal, not the festival itself. But there were really not as many people as in London, and mainly only in the center at the so-called "sites". And we also met seemingly military men, mummers in some kind of bright uniforms, who walked in formation and played brilliant musical instruments, completely strange melodies, it was unusual. I found it funny because I imagined such "warriors" in the Konoha's forest with their "music".

With Emma and Jess, we walked along the streets of Edinburgh, and the further from the center, the calmer and more peaceful it was.

Harry figured out in a public toilet to call Kreacher and ask him to exchange his gold ryos for local currency. The house elf did not appear afterwards, but I had a bundle of banknotes in my pocket. It's funny, as if the old dwarf didn't trust his master's spending, or maybe he didn't want to break my "magic", since Harry and I were still wearing my henge. I gave him the money, but he told himself to leave half of it just in case.

Our girls chirped incessantly, telling and showing local sights, it was funny. We visited a stone castle and a museum, I liked the kind of crap that turns everything upside down. Harry cheered up and in general somehow relaxed, sometimes he even began to laugh. From time to time, referring to Jess, he began to hug her, she did not seem to mind. And Emma almost hung on me like that. It is a pity that there are so many people and the city ... However, it is perhaps not accepted to take girls into the bushes here. Plus, in Konoha, I would prefer a normal bed or a futon.

- Let's go to the cafe, - Jess suggested, pointing to a bright red corner. Above the door, which resembled thorium, was a gilded three-word inscription. In general, I have already noticed that the first short word of three characters is often found, not that I decided to study the local writing, but natural observation takes its toll.

- What is the name of? - I asked Harry.

- The Elephant House**, - he read and explained: - An elephant is such a big animal.

- Do you, Nart, do not know who an elephant is? - Emma smiled, looking inquiringly at me.

- Why, somehow I have never met him, - I laughed.

- Guys, you're kidding us! RJ, are you kidding? - jerked Jess Harry.

- Yes, we are joking, but I haven't really seen the elephant, what it looks like, this elephant of yours? - I giggled, making fun. We went to a cafe, it was pretty cozy there.

- This is what an elephant looks like! - showed Emma on a wooden chair in the form of a fat, nosed and lop-eared animal on four pillar legs.

- Then, mind, I'm sitting on an elephant! - I laughed, sitting down.

We made an order and the girls went to the toilet. By the way, there were a lot of elephants and their images, so I understood why the cafe has such a name.

- Listen, Naruto ... I mean, Nart, - Harry leaned closer to me. - I ... I don't know, should I kiss Jess? I'm not sure and ...

- Have you never kissed? - my eyebrows went up by themselves.

- Kissed, - Harry sighed. - But when it happened, that girl burst into tears ...

- Are you kissing so badly? - I was amazed. I have never heard of such a miracle. Or is it such a manifestation of magic?

- Well ... - he looked down. - I just liked her, and she ... liked the guy who died because of me a year ago, we kind of dated, but ...

- Nine tails in my liver, - I could only mutter. - You are ... Do not worry. I don't think the problem was you and your kissing technique. - I patted him on the shoulder. - Of course, the first experience is very important ... Hmm ... When I was small, we accidentally kissed Sasuke in front of the whole class. Then almost killed each other, and then became friends. Now this teme has dumped the village and it haunts me ... Maybe it's because of that childish kiss? - I became thoughtful.

- Did you kiss a guys in front of everyone? - Harry wondered. - You were not teased afterwards?

- A guy, - I corrected. - It was once and by accident. And Sasuke is my friend ... But actually girls are closer to me, however, with shinobi it ... is considered normal. Missions, tasks are long, anything can happen. People relieve stress in different ways. Whatever the ninja amuses himself, as long as he doesn't cut his own people. So no, they didn't tease, only his fans beat me a bit because I took Sasuke's first kiss.

- But still ... I don't know what to do, I'm a little unsure, - Harry changed the subject, somehow suspiciously looking at me from under his dark red bangs. It seemed to me that he blushed, or maybe not, under the henge it is not visible, especially if it is applied to you.

Emma and Jess returned, they brought us the ordered noodles, only of a completely different taste than in my homeland. We ate supper with gusto and sat in a cafe for a long time and chatted with the girls. From the large window there was a view of the castle we visited during the day.

A middle-aged woman was sitting at a table in the corner, scratching something in a thick notebook, glancing absently at us a couple of times. I drew attention to her, because the owner of the establishment came up to her and brought tea, and also talked to a little reddish girl, about three or four years old, who toiled at her table, playing with a doll, and often looked at me. Probably because we laughed and smiled, the girl, apparently, was a little sad.

- We have to go to camp, - Emma said, looking at her watch. - And you take a hotel. There are quite a few of them nearby.

- We can meet tomorrow… - Jess suggested, embarrassed. - There is a cool beach here ...

- Okay, - I nodded. - We will escort you.

It was not far to go, we handed the girls over to their friends and went back.

- Well, maybe really stay overnight here? - Harry suggested. - There is money, and there are really many motels and hotels here, near the castle.

The streets were almost empty, most likely because most of the people were closer to the center, where they were still rehearsing something and playing music.

- Are you a wizard after all, Naruto? Once you know how to do all sorts of magical things, - Harry asked me as we, enjoying the silence, walked down the street.

- Well ... We call it "chakra". And I, according to the classification that you gave, is more of a battle mage. Potions, that is, poisons and poisons, I do not know how to make. And to treat, we have medical ninja, that is, the Iryonins, who do. What you called mental magic is our genjutsu, my friend Sasuke is well versed in it, he also has special eyes ... So he can confuse anyones head ... - I sighed. - Ninjutsu is most likely what you called "enchantment". Perhaps only taijutsu, kenjutsu and fuinjutsu you did not mention. I don't know, maybe this is not in your world, or maybe you don't know.

- And what is it? - Harry asked.

- Taijutsu is the art of hand-to-hand combat, the body is saturated with chakra, which gives high speed, impact power, impenetrability in some cases. Kenjutsu is combat with a weapon, most often with a sword, katana, or tanto. But few ninja use pure kenjutsu, it is ineffective against shinobi. Sasuke, for example, can send his lightning element through his sword ...

- Wow, are you also elemental magicians? - Harry stared at me.

- Well, yes, everyone has an affinity with some element ... - I scratched the back of my head, remembering the instructions of Kakashi. - There are five main ones: lightning, water, earth, wind, fire. And some especially gifted, to whom I do not belong, have the ability to combine the basic elements, forming new ones. I met a guy who made ice, and one of my captains, combining water and earth, could grow trees ... I also heard that someone in the land of the Earth has the element of lava - the union of fire and earth.

- Wow! - Harry said again. - Your world is incredible!

- There are constant wars in my world, - I sighed. - Shinobi are made to kill. And we sow hate forever. We take revenge for the dead comrades, and then they take revenge on us ... Eh, let's not talk about sad things, okay?

- Okay, - Harry smiled. - I would like to see what it is, this chakra of yours ...

- Well, this is easier than easy, - I chuckled, releasing chakra in my hand and forming a ball of a simple, almost non-combat Rasengan. - Just don't touch.

- Wow. - Harry's face lit up with a bluish light.

- It's pure chakra, but it's shaped like a ball, - I explained, pulling the Rasengan back into my palm.

Something rustled in the bushes, and I could hardly resist the urge to throw a shuriken there. The cat that ran out was lucky that weapons were in my backpack.

- Well, are we going to the hotel?

- Yeah, let's go.
