All it took was everything

Lydia was a 10 year old girl who lived on the planet Isula, which was isolated at the time in a dimension outside of reality. The elders would do a daily ritual so light would come upon them, each village seem to have their own time zones, some having a bit more than the usual 24 earth hours a day. The reason for it was the elders had seen in visions all the other descendants of Yggdrasil have been destroyed, and the last living one was their own, Salutis. They then communicated with all the elders of the planet, and took part of a 3 day ritual which allowed them to hide from reality until Salutis would be ready to fortify itself and Isula

In her village, Lydia was in some manner like those of her village, content with her life and thankful for every living day. What made her stand out from those of her age and still older, a passion to study texts and passages of the old worlds, including earth. Due to the planet abandoning reality near the end of the 18th century, they were limited to what was known then. Nonetheless, she studied all she could and was allowed to, spending quite some time alone and reading.

One of her usual days, she learns of the stories told within Norse Mythology, especially how her planet was one of the remnants of Yggdrasil as was Salutis. Curiosity peaked, she decided to go and visit the young tree. The people would not dare approach it, claiming it was on sacred ground, and feared contaminating it and bothering it. Lydia knew not of this, making her wait to the sacred grounds, ironically enough she went without sandals as if respecting the claims about the sacred grounds.

Once arriving, the little girl saw Salutis, the only tree in miles, yet it was only at her height, barely taller. Yet, it's root went deep through the planet, connected with the soil all around and under. Lydia started talking to it as if it were a person, and although it didn't talk back, it spread a branch towards her. Lydia then knew it was listening to her, and for once she was happy, as she didn't really have people to talk to. She was there for hours, and when she was about to leave, the young tree dropped a round red fruit and shiny fruit. When she tasted it, it was sweet to the tongue, the best thing she ever tasted in her life. She only took that bite before walking her way home, where a few were looking for her. When they spotted her, they were all relieved and ran to her, making sure she was OK. That's when they say the shiny red fruit, one they never seen before. Once the elders saw it, they were in shock, as the fruit was part of their prophecy; "and alas, the fruit bright as the blood of man, will taste bitter to all, yet the one who is chosen will have a taste sweeter than honey".

After that day, the elders granted to Lydia any scroll and texts that she wished to read about. Lydia was never told about the prophecy, as they all agreed that she was far too young to take on that weight on her shoulders. Lydia would never learn about it before shadows would come and attempt to destroy what was left of the reborn Norse world. She would visit the tree now and again, almost a daily routine for her.

Yet no one would notice that their planet was taken out of hiding, not until it was too late anyway…

"well, check it again"

"it's the third time we've done it! It won't stop shrinking!"

Two celestial-like beings speaking an unknown language were discussing the sudden and rapid change of the black hole, which held something even darker within the inside. Suddenly one of them, a being of black matter, would rush towards it. Once within a short distance, it attempted to stop its sudden shrinkage to no avail. No amount of energy would stop it, and it would only be time before the black hole would disappear, only for a portal to appear in its place, which started to grow. As soon as it was visibly big enough, all sorts of demons started to fly out of there, delighted in the joy of finally having freedom after being locked in for so long. The two celestials would have no choice but to fight however they could, yet it seemed like they would be overwhelmed on the spot. Soon enough, they both would be surrounded, but that's until one of them spoke up.

"Well, looks like they somehow know you're it, don't they?"

"well we don't have a choice, let's give it our all"

"you won't survive this, you're still weak"

"I can still fight"

"not this you can't" and as he says this, his hand starts to glow

"no, don't you dare!" he counters, trying to stop him

The other being, similar in appearance, shakes his faceless head. It knew the demons would kill them both. "I hope you can forgive me, Xilas"

"Fugaci, don't!" but it was too late, as suddenly as he said it, he was sent nearly at light speed out of there, passing a few galaxies before he could manage to slow down.

Fugaci, as the being had been called, knew these demons wouldn't follow, as they couldn't travel at such speed. The demons would overwhelm their target, up until they opened way for one demon in specific, the chants for a "Δαίμονας Βασιλιάς" was understood. A few demons had already grabbed hold of Fugaci when he made himself visible, quite larger than most of those around. His appearance was much humanoid yet he had long bat like wings on his back, retractable claws for fingernails, and his skin gave the appearance of freshly mined coal. While he had a small beard, his hair was long curls which were all black also, yet his eyes were bloodshot red. He then simply asked "one chance, where is the Warrior?"

Fugaci didn't even bother to answer, to which this supreme demon lord shook his head, knowing he wouldn't get an answer. That's when he would end it on the spot, then his next orders roared even through the dark matter of space

"find me the one man army, I want em alive!" and as soon as his words escaped his lips, his army swarmed in legions towards different trajectories in order to find the one who just escaped from them…

Behold, Daímonas Vasiliás has been set free, and wo-

"we meet again, fucker! Never thought I'd see you here" said a voice coming out of the portal. This monstrosity looked more like a shadow, yet the only one that seemed to speak as much more like him were also coming out of the ever expanding portal. While different forms, they all were shadow like with purple auras, and still could be seen through.

"Puer Umbra Summa, chaotic shadow, why don't you return where you came from or I'll obliterate you myself" Daímonas responds with a cocky tone, crossing his arms as any of his demons nearby were attentive towards any possibility of combat.

"I'd like to see you try" Puer answered as the shadow figures were also keeping focus if they had to rip anyone to shreds.

The two shared a long stare of death, either along with their army to ensure a maximum massacre if necessary to accomplish their goals. They both knew they were only delaying the inevitable encounter, the clashing of both their armies, some still coming out of the portal. And all it took was Puer to quickly attempt a strike at his opponent, yet Daímonas blocked it with his foot, adding "first to strike, yet last to win". This was all it took before the two started to go all berserk on one another, their loyal soldiers following as they went onto their enemies. A smaller army of the shadow figures had been assigned a different mission from the beginning, and went off, avoiding the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, Xilas, who was sent off and away from the battle against his will, was ever floating until arriving into the solar system.

The demons that made their way towards Isula, known in translated terms as Hallow Shadows, had merged themselves together into a come darker then the night. Soon, they found the planet Isula and pierced through the atmosphere as the wind through a net. As soon as they hit the ground, they dispersed from the comet they made themselves into and started to swarm the planet. No one could predict this happening, to which why very few would survive this. Lydia's village suffered greatly, having almost no warning, terror came only from one side yet thier numbers overwhelmed. Lydia saw as they would obliterate everyone she knew, having no mercy of any, kind, tearing out the very life out of their flesh.

Salutis couldn't even save them, but seeing Lydia running the line of life and death, it gave all its strength to use vines, plants and other trees to keep her out of the shadows' sight. Even then, the poor tree felt as all over the planet chaos spread like a disease with no cure, the demons not allowing any life to survive. After what seemed an eternity, Lydia had made it to the Sacred Plains, where the tree was, and alas, it had lost most of its strength, and it seemed as if hope had been lost. Lydia, being the little girl she was, hugged the young tree. Salutis felt the monsters approaching, and knew it would have to fulfill its purpose early, even though it might kill Lydia. Never less, it proceeded, using the last of its strength to grow roots out of the ground, entering Lydia's body.

Lydia couldn't stop the screams of pain, the torture as the roots embraced her veins and arteries, changing her literally from the inside. Lydia couldn't describe the very transformation that was taking place, but all she could do was let her pain take the skies, as her tears slid to the ground. Soon enough, Salutis had entered her body beyond the physical form, as now their minds have been merged into one, yet each their own spirit as they shared the same vessel. Her body had physically matured years older, yet mentally stayed the same. As soon as it finished, Lydia almost collapses to the ground, breaking her fall with her hands. While still having a headache, Lydia realized that everything she had, her family, her scrolls, friends, all the living and important, gone…

Salutis soon realized that it had been corrupted by sorrow and a thirst for revenge, but it was too late. Lydia had these corruptions also, plus what she felt lost, she didn't understand why, why would anyone do this to such good people. She started to lose her mind, her sanity, her beliefs, she was losing Lydia…

She made a promise to herself, and that was to clean out her world of the wickedness that had corrupted it. She didn't know how, but she would eventually, now being able to feel one with Isula. Salutis attempted to bring Lydia back to sanity, but somehow, she managed to force Salutis to sink deep within her so she wouldn't have to listen to it. She was most upset with Salutis, as in her weakest, it brought her all the pain in the world and more and somehow survived…

She didn't know yet, but she had been reborn, with a thirst of blood of those that made her suffer…

Sanguinea Illustrad had been brought to reality…
