Li Jie was told to carry out some task to build his system like lifting heavy rocks, doing pull up, balancing on a tiny stick which he kept falling from, going into combat with master Li Jie and more.

Daiyu was being trained with her powers as she made a huge fire lighting up the candles on every corner, she took a deep breath and turned her fire into a ball, Li Jie happened to pass at that moment, she smirked and sent the fireball his way.

Li Jie noticed and caught the fireball with his leg playing it like a ball then sending it back at Daiyu who also caught it and made it even bigger sending it straight at Li Jie but he was prepared and he only raised a finger up to stop the fire mid air, it rolled against his palm as he made it even bigger and his golden eyes lit up, for the first time he could sense his fire and tried his best to control it, the fire grew bigger but he tried to keep his focus on reducing the flames which rolled like a ball against both his palms.

Mei jingjing watched from a corner with hope in her eyes.

"You can do it Li Jie, try to control that fire." she whispered hopefully to herself.

Li Jie felt hot on the inside and tried to keep his focus, it was actually draining his energy but alas!

He controlled it and the huge flame died down.

Mei jingjing grinned at the victory, Daiyu ran up to him.

"You finally did it master Li Jie." she grinned looking even more pretty. "How about we celebrate with a little game of fireball."

She made a ball out of fire as it rolled against her fingers.

Li Jie was utterly confused. "Is that safe?"

She chuckled. "Of course, with us actually, humans should never try this."

She sent the ball towards Li Jie who caught it with his foot and kicked it her way, she did a flip into the sky and kicked the ball down at Li Jie who also caught the ball with a smirk making it bigger and sending it her way but she saw it coming and controlled the fire with her legs as she remained in the air sending it back at Li Jie, the two played a game of fireball.

Mei jingjing couldn't help but feel a tinsy bitsy jealous. He always carried a serious expression when he's around her but is having fun with the new girl.

Daiyu noticed her watching and an evil smirk crossed her face, rather than sending the fireball to Li Jie, she directed it at Mei jingjing.

Mei jingjing's eyes grew wider as she saw the ball heading towards her.

"Aaaahh!!" she screamed and got out of the way but the fireball bursted through the walls nearly smashing into her but she fell to the ground which saved her from getting hit by it.

Li Jie felt his heart stop seeing Mei jingjing on the floor.

"Mei jingjing!" he ran to her and crouched beside her, Daiyu faked concern and also crouched beside her.

"Oh no, Mei jingjing!"

Mei jingjing slowly opened her eyes and met Li Jie's worried gaze.

"Li Jie?"

He felt relieved after hearing her speak. "Are you alright?" he asked with concern.

"I am so sorry Mei jingjing, I had no clue you were here, this is what happens when I can't control my powers, please forgive me."

Li Jie carried her in arm leaving Mei jingjing baffled.

"W..... what are you doing?, I can walk on my own."

"Be quiet and don't speak further."his tone was final, Mei jingjing didn't dare to go against him when he spoke like that.

Daiyu watched him take her away and felt a sudden sting, a familiar one which she didn't like at all.

Li Jie took her straight to the room, Chao Xua and Haorang who were standing guard saw him enter the room with Mei jingjing. Chao Xua looked confused.

"Why was master Li Jie in a hurry?"

"Let's check it out."

Li Jie dropped her gently on the bed as he raked his eyes over her body.

"Are you hurt?, are you in pain anywhere at all?" he kept on asking with a concerned look, Mei jingjing kept her gaze on him and shook her head.

"N.... no, I'm fine."

He was suddenly glaring at her. "What were you doing over there, what if you got hit by that thing, then what?"

He scolded, the guards walked in. "Any problem master?" Chao Xua asked.

"Why don't you ask her?" he sounded annoyed.

Mei jingjing didn't know why he was scolding her right now, does he always have to be so mean towards her.

"Did you get hurt princess?" Chao Xua asked with concern, Mei jingjing smiled at him.

"I'm fine."

"What happened to you?" Haorang asked.

"It's nothing."

"What do you mean nothing, you almost got hit with a fire!" he scolded.

"What are you scolding me for, I don't see you scolding Daiyu, she's the one who sent the fire to my direction."

Li Jie sighed. "You heard her yourself, she can't control it yet."

"If she can't control it, why play such dangerous games then?" Mei jingjing wasn't going to let Li Jie scold her for nothing.

"Is it wrong for her to have fun now?"

"I never said so, but playing such games when she knows she can't control her powers can be life threatening for the people around her."

"Wait what were you doing there in the first place?"

"Doesn't matter, all I know is she shouldn't play such games when she hasn't mastered it yet."

She said stubbornly which got Li Jie even more annoyed as the two glared at each other.

"Do as you please Mei jingjing but I told you before, I won't be blamed if you end up loosing your life."

He stood up and walked out leaving Mei jingjing to herself as tears swimmed in her eyes, he's so heartless and scolds her all the time and now he's even defending Daiyu.

Chao Xua wasn't happy after watching their argument, Haorang walked out leaving Mei jingjing and Chao Xua alone in the room.

"May I say something princess?" Chao Xua asked softly, Mei jingjing wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone but Chao Xua has been really sweet she couldn't say no to him.

"Tell me."

"I know master Li Jie might look heartless and hot tempered but he only acts that way cause he cares for you."

"No he doesn't, I don't want his care anyways, he scolds me all the time like everything that happened was my fault."

"If master Li Jie doesn't scold you, he doesn't care about you then."

"What a crazy way to show care."

"Think about what I said princess, you should know master Li Jie by now."

Chao Xua walked out after those words leaving Mei jingjing to herself, tears welled up in her eyes but she didn't let them drop and blinked them back instead. She suddenly felt a little sting in her arm, she raised her sleeve up and saw she had a burn in her arm.

Li Jie stayed on the terrace trying to calm himself, she's so stubborn and doesn't want to understand what he's saying.

He doesn't want to see her get hurt but she thinks otherwise.

Daiyu showed up looking pitiful as her long red hair hid her face.

"M.... master Li Jie."

Li Jie glanced at her, he doesn't want to talk to anyone right now but he didn't want to make her feel worse than she looked right now.

"Any problem?" he asked.

"I'm so sorry for hurting your wife, I didn't mean it, from now on, no more fireballs, I hope you can forgive me." she sounded sincere.

Mei jingjing just happened to step out to look for some herbs and spotted Li Jie with Daiyu.

"It's alright, it wasn't your fault, even I have made mistakes like that." he consoled her.

"But..."

"Don't think about it, go to bed." he said softly.

Mei jingjing frowned, she was the one who needed consoling but he only yelled at her instead.

She walked out feeling sad and Wondering why it hurt her so much, it's not like she wants anything to do with him, so why does it suddenly hurt?

Mei jingjing stayed in her room to apply the herbs when Li Jie suddenly walked in making her hide the herbs immediately, he gazed at her curiously, something seemed off.

"Are you alright?" he asked but his question made her even more angry. "None of your business." she eyed him, he ignored her words and walked up to her making her tense up as she hid her injured arm behind her back.

He studied her face and noticed she was trying hard not to show her pain, something was off with her, he noticed her hand behind her back and his gaze turned serious.

"Let me see your arm." he said firmly, she shook her head stubbornly.

"Your arm Mei jingjing." he said again.

"What do you want from me, just go away!" she said in vexation but he ignored her words and forcefully brought her arm forward, he saw her injured arm, Mei jingjing winced in pain due to how tight he held her hand, he quickly reduced his grip on her and gazed at her injured arm but Mei jingjing forced her hand free from his hold.

"You're hurt." he said softly but she glared at him.

"So what, I'll get it treated, just go!."

He didn't like the way she chased him away like he was some kind of unwanted dog or something.

He frowned and made her sit on the bed.

"Give me your hand."

"No!"

He grabbed hold of her hand and looked into her eyes.

"Stay." Mei jingjing was confused by his words, he took the herbal ointment and gently rubbed her wounds with it.

Mei jingjing found herself not being able to move, she wanted to stop him but she froze like a statue and couldn't even move like she was being held down by an invisible force. did Li Jie do this to her?

He applied the ointment to her wounds and Mei jingjing could do nothing to stop him, what upset her most was the fact she liked it, he treated her wound with such care and his touch was surprisingly gentle.

After applying the ointment and wrapping her wound up, he looked into her eyes.

"Be free."

Mei jingjing found herself moving again, which means Li Jie was the one who froze her.

"How do you feel?"

"Like removing this bandages and throwing it at your face!!" she glared at him but his facial expression still remained the same.

"Sleep tight." he said softly and stepped out of the room, Mei jingjing was on the verge of tears again and she couldn't understand why?.

Daiyu was back on the underground, Chaoxiang smiled at her.

"Oh my, I actually thought you've forgotten all about us."

Daiyu smiled. "Missed me?"

"Maybe, what news do you have for me?"

"Um why didn't anyone tell me the one with the three seals was strikingly good looking?"

Chaoxiang chuckled. "Are you starting to fall for him?"

"He has a wife who I can't literally stand, she seemed suspicious about me from the start." she smirked.

"But I'll make her suffer gradually."

Chaoxiang rolled his eyes. "As long as it doesn't ruin my plans, do as you please. now tell me, what have you heard?"

"Alot."

Chaoxiang had a malicious smile on his face.
