When she was woke, she and Jero had an ear blasting from their teacher. "You little brats, now you see that stubbornness doesn't pay... ", The teacher kept talking but Ariel tuned her out.
At one point though, Jero nudged her. She took that as a signal and they apologized in sync," Sorry ma'am" ,they said with their heads bent. The teacher puffed up in selfimportance and they secretly snickered.
"I'm also sorry for pulling that stungun on you", a deep voice said behind her.
Ariel turned and behold, it was the strange boy in the crater. "Hold on, hold on, hold on, did you say stungun?, what kind of stungun affects someone 15 feet away?", Ariel asked shocked.
"He's not from here", the teacher said with hearts in her eyes.
'Okay, it's settled, this woman is crazy. The poor boy looks my age', Ariel thought.
"I'm from Saturn, I'm Chad", He replied smoothly. Ariel rolled her eyes,'No wonder, another alien, wonderful(!)'.
She was very wary of aliens ever since her personal encounter with one 2 years ago...
She was walking to her home when an alien jumped in front of her and tried to take advantage of her.
He would have succeeded had it not been a strange force that attacked and disabled the man.
She was still reeling in shock but was delivered home safely by the same blur.
Aliens were now becoming citizens of earth and traveling seemed relatively easier for them now.
"You guys don't have me fooled, I know you're waiting for the right time to eliminate us". She accused.
Chad put on a puppy face that absolutely contrasted with his ruthless features. "Is this the face of a killer", Chad asked and then turned the the other girls in the room. He licked his lips and put his hand on his chin, "Amarite ladies?".
About five girls screamed in blatant adoration. He smirked, "The ladies obviously love me", he said. Chad leaned towards Ariel and she scowled and walked away.
Jero ran after her to try to cool her down.
After school, 15 year old Jero and 13 year old Ariel did a quick study session and leisurely strolled home at around 6'o clock. When they reached Jero's house, it was already 7'o clock. "Are you sure you can go home alone ?", Jero asked worriedly.
"Oh come on, I'm a big girl already", Ariel laughed. She never told Jero about the 'incident' because she knew he would throw up a fuss.
"Really? ", he asked skeptically. "Of course", she answered and to make a point she started walking away. "Fine, fine you're a big girl, Goodnight then", Jero said.
"G'night",she replied.
She was one block away from home when she felt someone following her. She picked up the pace and walked faster, the person followed.
She started panicking now and broke into a full run. Then she heard footsteps behind her, signifying that the person was running after her.
The person was very fast and had almost caught up to her.
Suddenly, the footsteps stopped. "Ariel calm down, it's me, Chad", her pursuer said.
Ariel didn't stop immediately but she slowed down enough for him to fall in step beside her.
"Why would you follow me? ", she asked annoyed. "I'm addicted to good-looking people like myself", Chad said.
Ariel rolled her peculiarly shiny blue eyes. 'What a narcissist'. He looked at her seriously "Do you hate me, Ariel?", He asked. She looked at his face and just couldn't resist. She sighed.
"Listen Chad, I barely like people on earth, much less aliens... Plus, I stereotype all aliens now, so I don't think that means I hate you as a person", she said.
Chad breathed heavily. "Can I at least follow you home?", he asked. She considered her possibilities and him following her had more pros than cons. She nodded and Chad smiled halfheartedly.
She parted ways with him at her house.
After dinner, which mostly consisted of explaining to her parents and her 5-year old brother how she met an alien, Ariel reflected on her day.
'Wow, I have an alien friend', she thought.
Then she thought about her protector two years ago and her thoughts drifted into the direction of the guy with green eyes.
His broad shoulders helped to complement the white overcoat he wore over a woolen white shirt and his trousers framed his long thin legs and his sneakers were white too.
The boy was probably a color coded fanatic. The boy's dark chocolate brown hair was shaggy and ruffled. He was Chad's opposite in that aspect. He was taller than Chad, which undoubtedly meant he was taller than her.
He had hard features but that somehow made him look cute. If he had been the one to pull Chad's puppy face, she would have definitely screamed. Finally, his eyes... they were on the same dimension as hers but they were brighter, shiny-er and rounder. The green was
a vibrant one with a tint of blue at the edge.
She was shocked that she remembered what he looked like after seeing him for just 5 seconds.
She sighed and went to sleep, resolving that she would find him at school the next day.
