Unaware of their shared connection, Lillian is initially fearful of the Demon of the Underworld.

But soon, she finds herself drawn to her husband, like a moth to a flame while the darkly dangerous mafia lord cannot resist the irresistible charm of his wife. 

She is his light. He is her doom. 

What will happen to this complicated love? Can they overcome all obstacles and live a happy life? Or will their nightmares ruin their newfound happiness?

 “What will I get if I win?” Lillian demanded. He put a finger under her chin to make her meet his eyes.

Trials of Fire & Love

Hannah was peering at Lillian with interest. For the past three days, Lillian was a little too happy. She hummed to herself and was more energetic than usual.

For her part, Lillian had been sleeping well for the past few nights. There was a nagging feeling in her that she was hugging something warm and comfortable every night but whenever she woke up, it turned out to be a pillow.

"You're glowing," Hannah noted. They were in the school's auditorium where the children were rehearsing for the play.

"You're really happy for some reason," Hannah said with a smirk. "Is it him?"

Lillian gaped at him. "I'm always happy!" she mumbled, looking away from Hannah but the latter only laughed.

"I'm sure that it's because of him!" Hannah claimed. "Come on! Tell me who it is!"

"I can't! And I'm just happy because it's a nice day outside!"

Hannah turned to check the cloudy weather outside. It was going to rain that night.
