Trip to Japan (4)

Lillian stepped out of the bathroom, feeling refreshed. She was wearing only a bathrobe and was about to change but the view of the river distracted her. They were given the largest cottage in the hotel which had a spectacular view of the river and the hills near it. She beamed at the view, idly watching a boat rowing on the water. The clear sky was brightened by the sunshine and the leaves on the trees swayed in the calm breeze.

The cottage they were living in was no less than the one Emperors lived in. It had an open kitchen attached to a dining room. The walls were made of jade while the floor was made of pure elm. Every step felt as if she was walking in a palace. Their room consisted of double beds, to Lillian's slight disappointment. She had gotten used to holding Lucas in her sleep so she was surprised that he ordered twin beds.

Then she shook the thought out of her mind.

"I shouldn't get used to it!" she told herself. "But where is Lucas?"
