Two Children

Natasha was going through an old photo album. She was teary eyed as she flipped the pages, looking at the pictures fondly. Howard limped towards her and his gaze fell on the photographs of a small child who was hardly five years old.

He sighed out loud and sat next to his wife. Natasha merely nodded at him and returned to the pictures in her hands.

"Are you alright?" he asked in a gentle tone.

"I'm fine," she said. "I just miss our little angel so much…"

Tears fell on the photographs. Natasha quickly wiped her cheeks, trying not to cry but the pain in her heart would not go away.

"She is in a better place, Nats," Howard consoled her. "She is at peace."

"But I can't forget her!" Natasha wept. "My little Lina. My precious little girl…"

She trailed off. Her mind was replaying the moments she spent with her child who was snatched away from her at a young age. Even though years had passed by, her heart was still suffering from the same pain.
