Italy

The sunlight pouring through the windows burns my eyes as I flutter them open. I remember feeling arms around me as I slept so I roll over expecting to find Alessandrio. Instead, I find the bed looking neat and feeling cold. Disappointed, I get out of bed and head towards the bathroom. I must have made it up or dreamt it. I curse at myself for feeling disappointed. I shouldn't want anything to do with him yet the thought of him holding me makes butterflies explode in my stomach. I do my business and try to avoid my reflection. I quickly throw on a hoodie making sure the hood hides my hair. Opening the door, I make my way down the hall and down the stairs towards the kitchen. Once I get there, I'm even hungrier than I was thanks to the endless number of stairs.

The kitchen is full of men fixing their plates and making their way to the dining table. I stand outside the doorway waiting for the crowd to die down before making my way in and grabbing a plate. I can feel eyes on me making me shiver in discomfort. I quickly fill my plate with some eggs and fruit before attempting to head back to my room.

"Emilia, make sure your bags are packed and place them outside your room. We leave in an hour."

My eyes snap up and I make eye contact with Alessandrio.

"Where are we going?"

My voice comes out barely a whisper and I'm not sure he heard me until he replies.

"Italy. I'm taking you home. You'll be safe there."

I scoff at him as I watch him get back to his breakfast as if he was discussing the weather with me.

"I will not be going anywhere with you. Certainly not Italy. I have my parents waiting for me and I will have to go home soon. Speaking of them, I really need my phone. I haven't spoken to them since I got here."

"I don't care what you want. We will be leaving in an hour. As for your parents, I have had my men communicating with them for you. They think you're having a nice time in New York. Plus you still have what... 10 days left on your trip? So you have plenty of time for a trip to Italy. I'm sure you'll love it."

He smiles up at me while I glare down at him. I abruptly turn around and leave the room after I throw my full plate in the garbage. Childish, I know, but if he wants to keep treating me like a prisoner I'll make it hell for him.

Once I'm in my room again, I decide to shower and get into some more comfy clothes to travel in. Before hoping in the shower, I take out the scissors again to try to even up my haircut. Satisfied, I step into the warmed up shower and let the water run over my body. I close my eyes allowing myself to relax and try to let the water wash off the hatred for Alessi. I hate him so much it hurts and I don't want to give him the satisfaction that he has any impact on me. When the water starts to get cold, I hop out and towel off. I opt for a pair of leggings and a big T-shirt and throw a hoodie on over it. I don't bother with the hood since my hair actually doesn't look that bad. I feel like the short hair makes me look older. Perhaps it's just because I look different, but I'm enjoying the change. It doesn't hurt to look into the mirror as much since I don't look just like Ady anymore.

I gather the rest of my belongings to take them downstairs ignoring the fact that Alessi told me to leave them outside my door. I'm more than capable of getting my own things and I don't want any help from him. By the time I reach the bottom, I'm worn out from lugging my suitcase down four flights of stairs. Sighing, I make my way outside to find several black SUVs lined up out front with several men loading up luggage. I make my way to one of them to ask where to put my stuff. He quickly grabs my bag before I can even get a word out. Before I can give him a piece of mind,I hear Alessi talking to me.

"You will be with me in the second car. Go ahead and hop in. It'll only be a twenty minute drive to my airport."

"Let me guess. You have a private airport with loads of private jets. What kind of work do you even do anyways?"

"I'm a businessman." His smile doesn't falter as the lie tumbles out. I know what he is, but he doesn't have to know that yet. I nod my head at him.

"Right. Must be some kind of shady business you run."

I tilt my head at him watching his face change slightly. I guess he thought I was going to drop it with his answer. Businessman, my butt. More like mafia boss or whatever they're called. I'm standing in front of one of the most dangerous men in the world and I don't feel scared of him at all. In fact, I want to get under his skin and make him regret ever meeting me the first time. I bare my teeth at him giving him a hateful smile. I hop in the car and look out the window avoiding him as he gets in beside me. The cars soon start moving as we head towards the private jets. The twenty minutes pass excruciatingly slow and I know this flight to Italy will be torture.

When we board the jet, I quickly take a seat beside Dria so Alessi can't sit beside me. I pull my hood over my head to avoid his looks and get myself as comfortable as I can. Eventually sleep takes over relieving me from the tense atmosphere.

The rest of the flight to Italy wasn't as bad as I thought. Dria and I talked a lot and I find myself liking her more than I thought I would. Maybe it won't be too bad to have a friend here.

Once we land, we are packed back into more SUVs to take us to Alessi's home. Thirty minutes later, we pull into a beautiful driveway lined with trees. As we near the house, the sight takes my breath away. It looks like a castle from a fairy tale. This house seems to hold more charm than the one in the states. Maybe Italy won't be so bad after all.
