Together At Last

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror, I try to scrunch my hair to add some extra waves. I put on a cuter pair of jean shorts with a nicer green top making my eyes pop. I'm not used to putting effort into my appearance, but since last night I feel extra nervous to be around Alessi. I know he's seen me in my sweats with messy hair for almost the past month, but I can't help wanting to impress him. I want to show him what he's been missing out on the last four years.

Satisfied with my appearance, I head downstairs to breakfast a little later than usual. Dria and Alessi are already at the table eating. Alessi looks up when he sees me coming into the room giving me his heart-stopping smile. I hear Dria laughing next to him.

"What's the special occasion, Em? I don't think I've see you in anything besides sweats since we got here."

I give her my best glare. I'll get her back for calling me out like that. Such a great friend. She only rolls her eyes at me sticking her tongue out.

"Actually, Dria, you might want to put on something more... suitable."

Alessi pauses eyeing his sisters outfit. She's still in her pjs with her hair in a very messy bun. She rocks it though. She is such a natural beauty with waist length black wavy hair. Her and Alessi look very similar with their beautiful skin and striking features.

"I was planning on taking you two out into town today."

I almost squeal with excitement. I haven't been out of this house since we arrived in Italy. Dria is just as excited as I am seeing as she shovels in the rest of her breakfast before running up the stairs. Alessi and I laugh at her abrupt exit.

"Rose."

I look over at him and shiver at the intense look in his eyes.

"You look beautiful as ever today. I don't know if I've told you, but your hair suits you very well."

I feel myself blush under his gaze.

"Thank you."

My voice comes out almost like a whisper. Gosh what is wrong with me. I shake my head at myself earning a laugh from Alessi. I watch him as he gets up from his chair making his way to me. I feel his arms wrap around my waist as he dips his head down. He kisses me so softly before pulling away leaving me wanting more. He smiles at me knowing exactly what he is doing.

"You should eat. We leave in an hour."

He kisses my head before leaving me alone in the dining room. I take my seat and clear my mind to rid myself of my thoughts about Alessi. It gives me a headache how fast my emotions have done a 180.

Breakfast consisted of bacon, hash browns, and eggs. I love food so much and his personal chefs definitely know how to cook. It doesn't take me long to clean off my plate and head outside.

I plan on sitting in the garden until it's time to leave. I've always enjoyed being outside, but the scenery out here is breathtaking. I spy a beautiful blue bird flying to its nest with a worm in its mouth. I continue watching as the momma bird feeds all her babies. I then divert my attention to the ground watching as a couple squirrels run to and fro before farting up a tree. I don't know how long I'm sitting here before I feel someone jump up beside me yelling boo. I nearly jump out of my skin clutching at my heart.

"Oh crap, I'm sorry. I forgot about your anxiety issues. You okay?"

Dria sits by me with such a concerned look on her face. Once my breathing slowed down, I busted out laughing earning a look from Dria.

"You sure are weird. You know that?"

I playfully shove her arm as we make our way back into the house. We head to the garage and hop in the car. Dria volunteered to sit in the back so I climb in next to Alessi.

It's only a thirty minute drive into the city, but unfortunately it's enough time for Dria to blare her music giving us a show in the back. I turn my head to see what all she's doing to make the car bounce around. She's singing and dancing in the back meaning she doesn't have her seatbelt on. Suddenly I feel panic creep into my chest as images once again flood into my mind. Alessi notices my discomfort as he puts his hand on my leg.

"Emilia? What's wrong?"

I shake my head at him and focus on my breathing. This gains Dria's attention as I feel the car stop shaking. She sticks her head in between the front seats looking at me worried.

"Please buckle up."

My throat feels tight as I force the words out.

"Crap, Em. I'm sorry."

She quickly sits back buckling her seat belt. Alessi doesn't take his hand off my leg the rest of the trip. We drive in silence and I feel bad for bringing the mood down.

The rest of the day goes off without a hitch though. Alessi took us to different stores buying me way too much even though I refused. We ate at a small cafe that had amazing pizza. We are all exhausted by the time we make it home. I have no idea how I'm going to drag all these bags upstairs. Luckily, Dria is thinking the same thing I am. She drops her bags at the bottom of the stairs.

"Yep. Not happening. I'll get them tomorrow."

I chuckle at her as I follow her up to our rooms. It's already past ten so I tell them both goodnight before I go get ready for bed. I shower and slip on short shorts and a thin tank top. I sink into the comfy bed and it doesn't take long to fall asleep.

I jump up panting. My body is covered in a cool sweat and my heart is racing. Once I've calmed myself down from the nightmare, I look over at the alarm clocking seeing that's it's two in the morning. I know I'm not going to be able to go back to sleep. Even though I'm calmed down, I still feel uneasy. Before I realize what I'm doing, I'm halfway to Alessi's room. I know he can make me feel better. I knock gently before sticking my head in.

"Alessi? Are you awake?"

I hear him shifting in his bed before his sleepy voice fills the room.

"Rose? Baby, are you okay?"

I smile at how sleepy he sounds and at how much he cares. I slowly make my way into the room before climbing on the bed.

"Can I sleep in here?"

"Of course. Nightmare?"

I nod my head at him before I snuggle into his chest while he wraps his arms around me. I fall asleep after I feel him kiss the top of my head. I've never felt safer.

Alessi POV

I feel the sunlight hitting my face. I groan opening my eyes before I feel something snuggle into my side. I look down to find my Rose cuddled into my side with her head on my chest. I recall last night's events smiling at myself. I'm so happy that she felt comfortable enough to come in here. I pull her closer kissing her head.

"Mmm. Morning."

Her voice thick of sleep is music to my ears. I want to wake up to her every morning.

"Good morning, beautiful."

She rolls over climbing out of bed. She is facing away from me as she stretches and heads towards the bathroom. Her shorts leave nothing to the imagination as they ride up. I enjoy my view before the bathroom door blocks it. A few minutes later, she heads back towards the bed and I gulp as I notice her tank top might as well be see through. She notices me staring before she looks down at herself. Her cheeks turn bright red as she tries to cover herself. I let out a loud laugh at her embarrassment.

"It is a very nice morning indeed."

She chuckles at my words before slipping under the covers with me. I pull her close and lean in meeting her lips. It doesn't take long for us both to come out of our clothes and have a replay of last week's drunken moment. I'm thankful we are sober this time, so I can remember everything about it. About her.

I kiss the top of her head feeling her breathing heavy as she's laying on top of me. I feel her mouth tug into a smile as she traces her fingers over my arm. I run my hand up and down her back before dropping them lower and giving her a squeeze. She laughs at me swatting my shoulder.

"Hey, Rose?"

She raises her head letting her eyes meet mine.

"I wanted to know if I could take you out tonight?"

I watch her face break into a smile as she nods her head.

"And would you do the honor being my girlfriend?"

I smirk at her as she laughs at me.

"It would be my pleasure."

She leans in and gives me a kiss letting her hands roam. I hear her moan into the kiss encouraging me to flip us over for round two.
