Katya waited in her car for a time before deciding to walk towards the restaurant entrance. She was exhausted from working on her dongle modifications all weekend, so was looking forward to unwinding with Cyrus. Gromer's Char House was special to her because it marked the location of her first date with him. She wondered why he was late but stopped to enjoy the cool spring air. Her thoughts went back to holding his hand and time-traveling on the very spot she was standing, showing him how to use their ability for fun instead of business. She loved how his eyes had sparkled when he looked at her that day. She'd come to know she was different from anyone he'd known before. She truly did love him too. He'd been so hurt when Cathy left, and now that she was back, Katya saw a childlike spark return to his demeanor.


Her heart flipped when she saw his shiny new Chevy Maverick pull into the parking lot. She ran and threw her arms around him.
