Boston, Massachusetts, June 17, 1775
Cyrus woke up to the sounds of musket fire and men yelling. Katya was looking down at the ground.
"Are you alright, hearts?" he asked her.
"I don't like war. Why do men have to fight each other? I mean, I understand why it is necessary sometimes; in this case, especially. England didn't want to give up her colony, and Americans have always fought for their freedom, but I don't like it."
"I know, people die," Cyrus said as he checked his data collector.
Katya snuggled in close to Cyrus as the Yanks fought valiantly to secure the hill, gunning down countless British regulars. But in the end, it was a British victory, and the hill was taken. Historians, years later will record the battle of Bunker Hill as an American victory because of the loss of lives on the British side and the American's steadfast attempt to maintain control of the hill.
Tears streamed down Katya's face as happy men rejoiced atop Breeds Hill.
