War IV

That was when he realized the hairs on the back of his neck stood up, before he knew it, he was blown back by a sudden force that he couldn't see. His body was badly blistered and was bleeding from several different places, without the halo's full regeneration ability, the wound would be severe.

Ena could feel some of her chi depleted but that didn't stop her, the damage she's done on Alex could be seen and there was no point in wasting this chance.

Gathering all of the invisible energy once again, Ena pushed herself to exert as much as she could to hurt Alex and help out her forces. The invisible energy was transparent even to Ena's eyes even though she's the only one who could see it.

Alex couldn't dodge the attack since he didn't even know there was an attack coming at him. His arms and his right leg were blown off by the invisible orbs that came at him. Alex dropped to the ground with excessive bleeding from his limbs.

Ena took a deep breath before focusing back on Alex, he wasn't a threat at the moment due to the severe injuries she caused but she couldn't let her guard down, there was no telling what type of tricks he still had up his sleeve.

"What was that attack? I'm truly shocked and amazed by it, just what type of attack was that?" Alex asked.

Ena frowned, even with his limbs blown off, he didn't bother to pay attention to them but instead was focused on what type of attack she performed.

"Don't give me that look, I want to know what type of attack was that. I couldn't even feel it coming or even see it coming, just what was that?" asked Alex.

Even if Alex got onto the ground and begged, she wouldn't tell him. The information was bound to get leaked, Ena, knew the halo could give telepathic signals to the mutants. Who knew what type of information was already leaked.

Before Ena could take a step closer, three mutants got in her way and blocked the path. Her reaction went from surprise to disgust, while the first mutant was in her away, the other mutant started to cut up the mutant into different pieces. It was as if someone was butchering meat for another person to eat.

But that wasn't the disgusting part, the disgusting part was when the mutant gave the meat to Alex who cooked it with his fire magic and started biting it. Ena felt like throwing up right there, thank goodness she didn't eat anything before the battle.

The next thing was shocking, the blown-off limbs Alex had grown back. But it wasn't a normal arm, it was green with veins popping out. It was as if he was a mutant in a human's body but there was a high possibility that was the case.

The mutant there as in front of her was killed before it could do anything, Ena had no time to deal with nuisances, she had a bad feeling about the mutation of Alex.

"Ahh, that was one delicious meal," Alex said licking his lips.

Ena cringed at the sight, copying Alex's magic, she created a chiball, a fireball but it's made of chi, and used it to block the incoming attack.

*BOOM*

Right, when the two attacks collided, Ena switched over to martial arts, she needed to replenish her used chi in the meantime. When her fist met Alex's fist, she felt pain shock through her arm and jumped back.

"With this, my true abilities will be released," Alex said with a grin.

The pressure in the air suddenly increased, win started swirling around Alex's body, his entire right arm projected flames, his left arm was covered in ice, and his halo turned bright golden.

Although it was a mesmerizing scene, the situation wasn't pleasant. The wind swirling around Alex made it hard for Ena to get closer to him, she didn't think Alex had something this abnormal in his sleeve.

Suddenly, the sensation of her cheek started burning. Ena widened her eyes when she realized Alex wasn't even in the same spot anymore, his flaming fist connected to her already injured cheek and sent her flying to the ground.

"Damn...that hurt," Ena muttered rubbing her burned cheek only to make it worse.

Moreover, why couldn't she sense the attack coming? There were a lot of possibilities running through her mind, one of them was that Alex evolved into something different to the point where her cultivation level couldn't trace him. Once again, her jaw was now broken and the healing process was slower than usual.

Ena's mind was still fuzzy when she tried to get up, before she knew it, she was kicked at the abdomen and was sent crashing into a wall.

Who knew how many times she was sent flying into the wall, she was wondering how she didn't break her back yet.

"I'm the one surprised now, I didn't think you had this in you. *Cough*." Ena said as she coughed out blood.

"As I said, you puny humans will stay in this lower realm while we with the power of the gods will ascend to the higher realm."

As Alex said that, fire, ice, wind, and earth magic gathered around him. It was as if the magic was following the orders of their master, it flowed too naturally.

Ena was snapped out of her trance when magic was coming towards her, there wasn't even enough time to process what types of attacks there were, all she knew was that the attack was bright and dangerous.

Leaping out of the way, the mixture of fireballs, ice-shaped knives, air slashes, and ground spikes all broke down the wall revealing a 50 feet tunnel. Fear filled her, it wasn't that she was scared of heights, it was what would happen if she was hit by several attacks. Just by looking at the impact, it definitely wouldn't be good for her.

However it didn't end there, even more, attacks were coming at her. When Ena tried to move, she couldn't, it was as if her legs were stuck on the floor.

'Is this fear? No...it isn't.'

"PRINCESS!"

Right before she was about to get hit...
