Warmth

After the meal, Madam Yang leads Yang Zi to her room. Which is located on the second floor of the house. The Yang Household is a two-story house. It was not that big, but it's not small either. It is 3500 square feet and it is very luxurious.

"Wow, nothing changes here." Yang Zi was surprised as she looked around her room. It was the same room 5 years ago. She feels nostalgic. She regretted staying away from home for too long.

Madam Yang just smiled before saying, "Of course. I know that you will get angry if I turn this into a pink room just the way I like." She joked.

Yang Zi pouted and chuckled. It's not that she doesn't like her mother's idea, but a simple yet elegant style of a bedroom gives her some peace of mind. Unlike those fancy and well-decorated rooms, she prefers the simple one with minimal colors.

"All right. I will leave now so that you can rest. I still have scores to settle from your father." Mother Yang winked as she closed the door.

Yang Zi smiled and slumped her tired body on the soft comfortable bed.

"Ahhhh! It feels so nice and warm here."

A little while later, her phone suddenly rings. Yang Zi checked her phone and wondered who was calling. It's an unknown number. She is not the type of person to answer calls from unknown numbers, but her curiosity urges her to answer the call right now.

"Hello?" Yang Zi answered the call.

"How are you doing there, wifey?" A man's attractive voice was heard from the other line.

Of course, Yang Zi immediately recognized the owner of the voice, it's Li Jin. How could she forget when every time they meet, he is a total parrot, so talkative!

"How did you get my number?" Yang Zi asked.

"Of course my dear, I have my ways. Just like how I made my way to your life. And my next target is your heart." Li Jin teased.

"Did you eat corn today Li Jin?"

"No my dear. Why?"

"Because you are so corny!" Yang Zi exclaimed. This man, how could he simply say those lines.

Li Jin chuckled and said, "Don't be shy, wifey. I know that you like that. I can imagine you're blushing right now."

What the h*ck! Are CEOs supposed to be the cold and aloof type? Is he some sort of half-clown half-person? Or is he normal at all?

"Hey, stop acting like that. You are a CEO of a big company. You should act like a scary person or else your employees won't be afraid of you. Just like the cold and ruthless type in the novels." Yang Zi complained.

"Wifey, of course, I am but I am different towards you. How can I bear to act cold and indifferent towards my wife? I must be asking for a death wish." Li Jin said honestly.

Yang Zi sighed, but she felt warm inside. Of course, she does not want a husband who is like a piece of wood.

"Stop calling me wifey. What if someone will hear you." Yang Zi warned. Especially right now that she is not yet ready to announce their marriage. She can't imagine her family's reaction. Everything is too sudden. Even her, she still can't digest it.

"Fine, you're the boss, my dear." Li Jin countered. Of course, what his wife says, he will do it. But she did not say that he can stop calling her different endearments.

Yang Zi sighed helplessly. She really can't win against him. Well, maybe it's not bad at all, too, so that she can slowly get used to it.

"I'll hang up now. I guess you are tired, so you need to rest. Save my number, okay? I'll call again later." Li Jin said.

"Hmm, okay. Goodbye." Yang Zi hung up the phone and closed her eyes.

At the time that Yang Zi woke up, it was already nine in the evening when she checked her phone. She stretches her arms and walks towards the balcony. Her room was specially designed to have the best view of the house. She can see the whole garden of the entire place and it was even more beautiful this time because of the luminous light coming from the moon.

Her phone suddenly rang and it was Li Jin calling. Without a second thought, she pressed the answer button.

"You're awake. Did you sleep well?" Li Jin asked.

"Hmm, I did. How about you? What are you doing right now?" Yang Zi asked.

"I'm still at the office." Li Jin answered.

"You're still working? It's already late. You should not exhaust yourself." Yang Zi casually said.

Of course, this statement made Li Jin's heart flutter. His wife is concerned.

"Of course I am done working. I was about to go home." Li Jin said, making Assistant Leng beside him shocked.

'My dear boss, lying is sin.' Assistant Leng thought as he watched all the piled documents on Li Jin's table.

Li Jin immediately noticed his reaction and warned him to keep silent. Of course, Assistant Leng was immediately overcome with fear from his almighty boss. He's terrible when he is angered. Better to keep his mouth shut.

"I see. Then you should head home as soon as possible to eat dinner. Work is important but health is more important." Yang Zi said.

Another wave of attack was sent to Li Jin's heart.

"Okay, I will hang up now. You too, you should fill your stomach."

"Okay." Yang Zi said.

The call ended and Li Jin immediately picked up his coat.

"Let's wrap for today. I'll be heading home." Li Jin said calmly.

"But President, you need to sign these papers today." Assistant Leng said worriedly.

"No buts. My commander said that health is more important." Li Jin said as he headed towards the elevator.

Assistant Leng scratched his head and followed him. Well, maybe it's not a bad thing having their lady boss, their President will pay more attention to his health especially to his meal. Unlike before that he will only eat once a day and drown himself from work.

After hanging up, Yang Zi went downstairs to see if her parents were still awake. And indeed they are still awake including her Grandfather and Brother.

"Oh, Xiao Zi, you are awake. Come, mother and father are competing for each other." Yang Feng enthusiastically said.

"What are they playing this time?" Yang Zi asked excitedly as she hops towards the sofa.

"Ah, you won't believe it but they are actually playing with snake and ladder. This is such a childish game." Yang Feng said.

"Don't be surprised. Your parents are childish." Grandfather Yang immediately added.

Yang Zi laughed and asked, "What are the odds?"

Grandfather Yang and Yang Feng shrugged their shoulders. Only the two elder couples know.

The three of them watched Xia Yuling and Yang Ping being totally focused on the game like they were competing for a national competition.

"Ha! I win! Yang Ping, you sleep on the couch tonight." Madam Xia exclaimed energetically.

"Wifey, come on. Don't be like that. Can you make another?" Father Yang pleaded.

Madam Xia crossed her arms and raised her right eyebrow, "No. Either you sleep on the couch or outside the house."

Father Yang opened his mouth but he immediately closed it back. He admits defeat. His face right is so pitiful that the siblings can't help but laugh so hard. Five years ago, they were like teenagers, especially when they were bantering. Nothing really changed five years later. Still as silly as ever.

"Hey Mom, why are you doing this to Dad?" Yang Zi asked while smiling.

"Hmm because he painted the wrong color on my painting earlier. He's ridiculous. Now, it is ruined." Madam Yang said. Both of her parents actually love art, especially painting and her mother graduated with a degree in arts and design while her father does whatever her mother does even if he is a graduate of a business-related course.

Yang Feng immediately laughed and said, "Dad, don't fight anymore. You know, this is the turf of the queens. Haha!"

Father Yang sighed helplessly and smiled, "Fine, just tonight. I'll sleep on the couch tonight. I will buy your favorite red velvet cake tomorrow."

"Yieehhh! Come on! Stop showing off your affections!" the siblings immediately teased their parents.

Madam Yang's face immediately flushed and said angrily to her husband, "It is also Xiao Zi's favorite. Hmph! No matter what you are sleeping on the couch tonight. You can't bribe with anything."

"Buy some pu-erh tea tomorrow Yang Ping. Xiao Zi loves tea." Grandfather Yang added.

Father Yang nodded and said, "Yes, Father."

Yang Zi feels so warm inside. No one can care for her just like her family. They are so attentive towards her that she wishes they will not grow older. She can't bear losing one of them.
