Chapter 01

Five years later

Chaos. Shouts and screams was what Diana woke up to before she glanced at the clock rather wearily. 11.30 was the time. Too early for her and she was rather annoyed. The pandemic had changed many things for her. Her sleeping habits being a major turnover. Shooting another frustrated glance at her door she was about to pull the covers over her head to get more sleep when the door opened with a bang making her grit her teeth in anger. She heard the laughter and loud voices approach and choose to ignore them in the pretense of sleep but was not able to hold it for long as she was dragged from her bed and dropped onto the floor. Controlling the waves of anger flowing through her she looked up at the faces now laughing at her expense.

One might think that she was Cinderella and the ones laughing at her was her evil siblings but no three faces were staring at her now waiting for her to show her anger. The first face she saw was that of her sister's, for looking so innocent she was a devil in disguise. The next was that of her cousin and even though he was younger to her by more than a couple of years he loomed over her in height and now was wearing a look of mischief but the third face made her heart beat rather fast as he stared into her eyes, amusement clearly visible in them.

Her anger dissipated as fast as it had appeared for the smile on his face was all she needed for her day to brighten up. Best friend, boyfriend, lover, were all places he held in her heart as.

God, that smile of his and his hair looked so attractive that all I want now was to just run my fingers through it. For a boy he shouldn't have such features. He was too damn good to look at. And his eyes. Don't get me started on them. It was looking at my own personal version of he..

"Diana?", his voice brought her out of her thoughts and she blushed furiously at her thoughts. She had been too engrossed studying his face that she hadn't heard what he spoke and from the amused look on his face she knew that he knew what was running through her head.

More embarrassed she replied with a rather harsh, "What?" making the three of them burst out laughing again. She still had no idea what they found so funny in frustrating her. This had become such a norm for them now and she was used to it now. At least a little. Glaring at the three of them she walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day.

For the past few weeks her thoughts had been running haywire. Each time she looked into his eyes all she wanted to do was jump him but insecurities ran deep. And even if she could, she would never get enough time with him as their relationship was a secret. A forbidden relationship which if someone found out would result in a huge problem for them.

The thoughts about their forbidden relationship did nothing but add to her frustration and anger. All she wanted to do now was break something to release all that pent up emotions but that would increase suspicion and that wasn't something that she really needed in her life right now.

Sighing, she finished dressing and walked into the kitchen where the two boys were now talking and messing about. They looked up as she walked in and was about to comment on something before they chose not to after the weary glare she shot at them. With a cup of tea and a plate with a measly amount of food enough for a rat she walked into her bedroom before shutting it close.

She wished she could shut out her mind as she had done the door for as soon as she was alone all her problems came rushing at her. And the pandemic had made things worse for her. Only if she knew how harder it was about to become.
