Concerns From McGonagall

I look at the report and see Mr. Aevum has skipped almost all his classes today. However, the essay he turned in for DADA is quite impressive. His description of the weaknesses and strengths of Hags is pinpoint and accurate.

He's lucky other classes didn't assign homework for the first years today. I stand up and make my way toward the door. I'd like to have a private conversation with Mr. Aevum.

As I'm leaving my office and entering the hallway, I see Albus down the hall. Looking at me and has been waiting.

I make my way toward him. I notice that his clothes are slightly dirty for some reason.

"How may I help you, Albus?"

He nods at me to walk with him, and I do. He takes me to his office, and once there, he takes me to a unique mirror that allows him to watch over Hogwarts.

The images change to the library, and we see Mr. Aevum sneaking around and casting spells to test the strength and weaknesses of the Restricted Section.

I'm about to exclaim that something needs to be done. However, Albus chuckles as he watches Mr. Aevum systematically test the Restricted Section.

"He's quite gifted, isn't he..."

He lows his head slightly and stares into the mirror. I look at what he's looking at, and to my astonishment, Mr. Aevum has made it into the Restricted Section. Albus himself put up those Protection Charms when he became headmaster. No one has ever gotten past them.

Mr. Aevum leaves the Restricted Section as soon as he's found what he's been searching for.

A weakness to get in.

"Minerva... Please, let me handle Alex. If he skips class, let him. He knows the consequences if his grades slip."

I look at him hesitantly, and he pulls out The Elder Wand and lays it on the table.

"The Elder Wand has a connection with him, one more powerful than I've ever seen a wand have with another wizard. Once he becomes more aware of magic, he'll notice it too."

I don't know where this conversation is going, but it's important. I nod for him to continue, and he takes another breath.

"There will come a day I'll pass from this world."

I don't like talking about such things, but it's necessary.

"When I die, I want to ensure Alexander gets The Elder Wand."

After nodding my head, he lets a sigh of relief out. I have concerns to voice, and this situation allows me to bring things up that need clarification.

I clear my throat, preparing to speak.

"How come you're doing this, Albus? If other students learn how Alexander is being treated, he might be ostracized. Not to mention that many noble and pure-blood families will complain."

He gives no immediate reaction or answer. Only watching as Mr. Aevum navigates the halls back to the Gryffindor common room.

The mirror continues as Albus stands up and heads to one of the bookshelves exclusive to the Headmaster's Office. He tosses me a book about Ancient Wizard Families and Prophecies.

"The Aevum family and Death..."

With a wave of his finger, the book opens. Showing the title of the chapter.

This book is old and decrepit. I look at Albus after reading the title of the chapter.

"What does this mean?"

I've never heard of the Aevum family. Obviously, this has something to do with Alexander, but Albus has yet to say anything.
