A Piece To His puzzle

I watch Minerva finish reading the last page and see the worry in her eyes. I've discovered very little about Alexander's family since I've known him. The little I've come to know is from that old book. She looks at me as she removes her glasses to massage her head.

"What does this all mean, Albus..."

Frankly, I don't know. I've never read such a vague and strange prophecy before. Nothing like it has ever come up in all my years. She lays the book on my desk and leans back in the chair she's sitting in.

The knowledge in that book about Alexander's family is little. It only talks about the prophecy. The only talks about the Aevum family are how they're ancient and secretive.

"Alexander is the subject of the prophecy... I can't find out the connection between him and The Deathly Hallows... The only thing I've found is this prophecy and the tattoo on the back of his neck that can't be removed... Not even by magic..."

The tattoo on the back of his neck perfectly matches the insignia of The Deathly Hallows. His connection to The Elder Wand also supports this.

Minerva has a worried look spread over her face.

"So that's why you want him to inherit The Elder Wand when you pass... How long do you think until the prophecy starts?"

It started the day he was born. If only I could learn more about the Aevum family. I need to find a way to uncover the truths that are being hidden. I'll have to send out some feelers and hope something pops up.

Minerva is still waiting for me to respond to her question.

"It started long ago, the day he was born, maybe even when his parents conceived him... But for now, we'll proceed as if nothing is wrong. With Harry Potter attending Hogwarts now, You-Know-Who is bound to return."

Minerva nods her head and stands up. She leaves my office, and I look back at the mirror as I stand. It changes to an overhead view of Harry and Ronald.

Laying on the couch, I stare at the ceiling. The nice warm fire in the fireplace heats the massive room as people relax for the day.

Some of the upperclassmen aren't around. Many have snuck off to some party to celebrate the new year or something. Since the common room is almost empty, I pull out my wand and twirl it in my fingers.

The Pine and Phoenix Feathers are a familiar sense to me... I'm becoming more aware and sensitive to magic now that I have a wand. Not to mention my practice with Albus.

He held back in our duels today. I couldn't land a single spell, and he'd send me flying repeatedly. After a little bit, it didn't happen as much, but I can tell there is a gap massive between us that'll take years to overcome.

"I have some questions for you."

My thoughts are interrupted by Granger. She doesn't have the book with her, so that means she must be taking a break. I look at her as I lay on the couch and continue to twirl my wand. I raise my eyebrows for her to continue.

"I'm sorry... That was really bossy of me..."

She suddenly apologizes and relaxes a little. It's not a typical conversation opener for kids our age.

She must've been reprimanded by several people lately. She has a bossy streak, but that doesn't bother me, mainly since she recognizes that I don't need such treatment.

"I want some advice on how to handle people like Draco Malfoy..."

Ahh, a very reasonable request. People like Malfoy can only be dealt with in specific ways. I can tell her and help her.

I'll be up to her to follow through with it, though. I can tell by how she carries herself and speaks that she has certain principles. One of them being the dislike of inflicting harm.
