Well, last week was truly really interesting. I got my period and it felt like hell but that wasn't what was interesting. Alexander had helped me through out my period, he always checked in on me, brought my food, held me whenever I felt a wave of pain, even kissed my forehead sometimes. We watched movies and let's not talk about his television, it was so huge, I just had to touch it. I haven't seen Samantha since I got sick, Xander said she had some personal things to deal with at home.
We're going to the city again and I'm so excited, I wonder if we'll go to the fun side of the city or maybe we'll see that CEO again. Skipping down the stairs I ran outside smiling at everyone outside. I've noticed there are always people, no, men parading the premises, like the house is a prison, they are always so stoic, always dressed in suit, black suits to be exact. I also met two different guys, yeah they were not statues like the others, especially Damon. Axel is like the commander of the crew, he's always talking to Xander. Damon, well he's the head of security team, we talk a lot and he's funny and cunning too.
He brought up this weird game called silent game. He said I mustn't make a sound and if I did he'll take my pancakes and I agreed, the next thing he did made me yelp. He'd tap my thigh rather harshly. He eventually took half my pancakes saying and I quote. "The boss would have my neck, if I took your food."
I could never get used to this. This scene, this scene of nature. My black crop top hoodie blew with the wind, caressing my exposed skin, making me close my eyes in delight.
"Are you gonna stand there all day?" Xander asked and I snap my eyes open, turning to him. There he stood, his hands in his pockets, hair disheveled, looking like a wild bush, making me want to run my hands through them, to tug th-
"Are you done day dreaming?" He asked with a cocky smirk. I could feel heat rising to my cheeks. A car came in view and the driver stepped out, handing Xander the key. Xander held the door open for me. We soon left the premises.
'Arghhh!!' I groaned internally. It's happening again. This coat of silence, blanket of misery, choking scarf of awkwardness. We've been in this car for 30minutes and none of us has said a thing and it's killing me slowly but surely.
That's it, the last straw. I can't take it anymore.
"Why do you have your house far from the city?" I blurt out, staring at him. He looked at me before turning back. "Because I like my privacy." He stated. "Hmm," I hummed in understanding before another random question popped. "Why are there guards around the house?" I questioned. He didn't bother to look at me, he just replied with a straight face. "My personal reason."
'I guess I touched a spot.'
"What's your favourite colour?" I asked and he seemed to be thinking before he answered. "Black," I almost laughed. 'I guessed right.'
"Your favourite food?" "I don't have one." He replied. I asked a more questions which he answered with curt answers or "None of your business". I had no idea where we were going to, I just sat there and welcomed the scenery in front of me. The city is quite huge with people moving like ants, cars driving slowly, some cars driving recklessly.
"What city is this?" I asked Alexander. "Alberta." He answered. It was a few minutes before I spoke again.
"Do you think they are here?" I asked with a distanced voice. Xander looked at me confusingly. "My family." I explained. He looked lost in thoughts but his face still remained the same. 'Stoic.'
"I don't know." He said after 3minutes. "Do you think they are looking for me? Probably they don't know I'm gone. Do they even care?" I asked, getting scared that I might never see my family again. I felt a huge hand on my right shoulder, making me look up. Alexander looked at me then at my cheeks before he sighed, he wiped a traitorous tear and gave me a small smile. "You should smile often." I said and he chuckled
"Only a few lucky people get to see me smile." I laughed. He got out of the car and that's when I realised we've reached our destination. A hospital. 'Why are we here?'. He opened my side of the car and I stepped out. The place was huge, it had a lot of trees and there were nurses walking around with some patients.
"Why are we here?" I questioned once we started moving. "For checkup." He said curtly. "Are you sick?" I asked, my voice laced with concern. "No. It's for you." He said and I exclaimed
"I'm sick?!!" I shouted and people turned to look at me, making my ears red. 'Great Ash. Just great.'
We went to two different doctors. One older, who Xander was rude to and this young one, who Xander was also rude to. I don't remember their names but we mostly talked to the young doc. He said I needed to eat more, I had low immune system and that I should be careful with my skin and what I put in my mouth. Well, we left the hospital with me carrying a huge lollipop in my hand and Xander telling me to be careful with 'what I pit in my mouth'.
We got home in no time and Xander excused himself saying and I quote "I have some work to do, I'll be in my office." I had no idea your office could be in your house. I got upstairs, went to my room, jumped on the bed, got tired and then decided to take a long shower and also wash my hair. Honey and coconut, that's all I could smell, I even smelled like honey and coconut. I got out of the bathroom, feeling all relaxed and fresh, I wore a black leggings with a crop white and black hoodie.
"Hey, Samantha." I greeted once I walked into the kitchen. She smiled with a nod.
"Um... I was wondering, do you know how to make a smoothie? A chocolate smoothie." I asked. Ever since I tasted that thing, I just couldn't get my mind off it. 'Like Alexander.'
"Hmm. Sure, anything for you." She said , making me hug and squeal in her ear. I went to the living room. After looking for a channel for 15minutes, I finally settled for sponge Bob the movie. "Here's your smoothie." I heard Samantha. "Thank you." I smiled at her. The smoothie looked exactly like the one at the mall, Samantha started walking away but I had to ask her a question that has been bugging me. "Samantha?" She stopped.
"Why don't you call me by my name?" I asked
I watched the colour of her face drain. 'What just happened?'
"Samantha? Are you alright?" She snapped out of whatever trance she was in. "I can't. I can't call you by your name, vestra celsitudines(Your highness)"
"What's vestra cel-cel..." I asked, trying to recall what she said. Her eyes grew wide that I thought they'd roll off her sockets. 'What's wrong with her?'
"I need to do something in the kitchen." She said dashing out before I could call her.
'Urghhh.' The house is so boring. I'd just finished lunch which was amazing but still I'm bored. Samantha is no where to be found and so is Xander and I'm tired of staring at the massive television. I sighed staring at the ceiling like it's one intriguing thing until an idea just popped into my head. I looked at my outfit, it was a black-white crop hoodie with a black leggings and a white canvas. I smiles at myself before bursting out. 'This is peaceful.' I thought as I walked around. The area was really spacious and I took my time to examine everything, from the flowers to the trees, I can't believe Xander has a garden. A freaking garden. He didn't look like one who'd like flowers.
I kept playing around in the garden, giggling every time a butterfly perch itself on me, tickling me. I left the garden promising myself to see it again. I soon got to a part of the backyard where no one stood. No guards. It was just me and I wondered why. I kept walking while my shoe kept making soft clicks on the cemented ground. I came to a halt, staring at something laying on the grass, it was dark, no, it was black, black as midnight. It looked like a dog, a rather huge dog, it had its fore hands in front of it, eyes closed, ears stood at attention. I have no idea when I left the cemented lane heading towards it, I tip toed towards it, my shoe crushing the small grasses softly. I did this for the next 60seconds till a little branch decided to ruin my progress by snapping. It wasn't loud but it was able to make its ear twitch slightly. I sighed, closing my eyes when it didn't move, when I opened them, its eyes were fixed on me.
We kept staring at each other till it rose ever so slowly still keeping eye contact. I knew my jaw was touching the ground. It wasn't even a dog, it was a wolf. A fucking wolf. It growled lowly and I just stood there letting fear grip me tight. I wanted to turn around and sprint from here but I just couldn't, my legs felt like noodles. They were shaking so bad that I wondered how I'm still standing.
It took a step forward and I did the opposite which caused it to snarl and that was my cue to start running. I ran past the garden like a mad woman. I've never ran so fast in my entire life, I ran without looking back, gasping for air in the process, my chest hurt as fuck but I just couldn't stop, I didn't want to end my life shredded by a Big Black Wolf. A WOLF. 'Why the hell is there a wolf in the premises? Why does Xander have a wolf? Why didn't he say anything about it?' I got lost in my thoughts while running which was a bad combo, I soon found myself leaning forward, face heading straight for the ground. I shut my eyes, bracing for the hard fall that will result to multiple bruises.
I was jerked backwards really fast that I thought my arm would loose from its joint. My face slammed into a hard chest, I still didn't open my eyes but I knew it wasn't Xander. The person didn't have that ashes smell, didn't have strong yet soft arms, didn't send weird sparks through my body. I opened my eyes and was met with a white shirt. 'Xander doesn't wear white.' I thought as I raised my head to see who caught me. I was staring at a guy who had a small smile on his face, he had a dull brown eyes, short brown hair and a little subtle. He had this look in his eyes that I couldn't decipher, his hands move up and down in a soothing way which wasn't soothing. I soon realised the awkward position we were in. I had my hands on his chest while his were on my waist, I cleared my throat and he finally paid attention to me.
"Um..." I started pushing his chest slightly. "Thank you for catching me before I fell." I stated while he nodded. We stood in a awkward silence with my head down, when I looked up he was already staring at me. "You have a beautiful hair colour." I heard him say. "I think red's my favourite colour." He said making my ears red. He chuckled and I almost ran to the house.
I closed the door behind me and was startled with a very pissed Xander.
"What the hell happened back there?" He yelled. "What are you talking about?" I asked furrowing my brows.
"You and that pest." He said. "He just saved me from falling." I answered 'What's with all the fuss?'
"Which required compliments, which required blushing, he was flirting with you Ash."
"Look Alexander, I don't understand your anger but why do you have a wolf at the backyard?"
"What does that have to do with you flirting with 'that pest'?" He shouted, emphasising on the word 'pest'. "If you didn't have a wolf at your freaking backyard, I wouldn't need saving from falling." I raised my voice, getting frustrated. "That still doesn't explain why he was flirting with my girlfriend!!!" He yelled back. "Well, probably you sho-"
Wait what??! Who's his girlfriend.
"What did you say?" "You heard me. My girlfriend. You're my 'girlfriend'." Those words excited me for some odd reason but that wasn't the issue. The issue was that I don't remember him asking me out and me saying yes to him.
"I'm not your girlfriend. I never said yes to you and you never asked." I said staring at him. "I don't need to ask neither do you need to say yes. You're my girlfriend and I'm your boyfriend. And I don't not appreciate the fact that, that pest was flirting with you "
"I'm not your girlfriend." I persisted. He laughed. He fucking laughed. It wasn't any type of laughter, this one was so humourless, taunting and dangerous. I gulped. The atmosphere turned dark and it frightened the shit out of me. I didn't notice that Xander was close to me till he whispered in my ear.
"What did you say?" He asked. His voice so calm that a shiver ran down my spine. I couldn't reply, I think I lost my voice. "What did you say amor(love)." He asked as his finger touch my skin. Goosebumps exploded all over my body just with that touch.
"I thought so." He said as he walked away. I released a breath I had no idea I was holding. Once he was far, I mumbled.
"I'm not your girlfriend."
