THE EXPANSION OF EZE EBUBE'S KINGDOM

Remember, Eze Ebube took the decision to Meddle into the case of Ezi Obodo and Umueze alone after consultation with Ikenna(the divine child) without consulting the cabinet. Now message has come to him from the king of Ezi Obodo accepting his offer but the mighty king of Umunkata is so worried. The has always carried the members of the cabinet along in decision making since he ascended the throne, so he was concerned on how to relate this message to the cabinet.

Ikenna noticed his father the king was worried and lost in thought, he approached Eze Ebube, "what troubles my father the mighty king of Umunkata" he said.

The king replied, "I am troubled in my heart for the king of Ezi Obodo has accepted the offer to be subject under the throne of Umunkata, but the problem is cabinet are not carried along in this whole offer and acceptance"

Ikenna told the king to be calm for he has find favor with the gods and the gods has decided to expand his kingdom. In his words "no king over Umunkata, not even your father or your father's father has found such favor with the gods, that's why the gods has chosen to expand your kingdom.

Father! You shall conquer Ezi Obodo without a fight for the gods has put your fear in the heart of all other kings including the wicked king of Umueze, call the cabinet send a message to king of Umueze and watch the gods fight the battle"

Eze Ebube summoned cabinet and to his amazement they were all happy and proud of him for the kingdom expansion move. There in the meeting they sent delegates to the king of Umueze asking him to withdraw his warriors from Ezi Obodo or face the warriors of Umunkata as Ezi Obodo is now subject under the throne of Umunkata.

They equally summoned the king of Ezi Obodo before Eze Ebube the mighty king of Umunkata and Eze Ebube said to him, this noble assembly of Umunkata has accepted to adopt Ezi Obodo as a clan in Umunkata and you shall represent them in the cabinet. We have not taken Ezi Obodo as slaves for slaves has no place in the ruling council but we have taken Ezi Obodo to be one of us, we shall all strive together and win together but never in history shall Ezi Obodo rule over Umunkata.

The king of Ezi Obodo appreciated Eze Ebube and has this to say "if only Umunkata join forces with us and defeat our enemy it will be a privilege for the people of Ezi Obodo to be part of Umunkata, for us to win together for I am convinced that Umunkata is indeed full of noble men, for you have not taken us to be slaves like other kingdoms would is a pointer that you are indeed a mighty king who delight in the welfare of his people and agree that never shall Ezi obodo rule over Umunkata, not me, not my offspring or any man of Ezi Obodo.

As both parties has come to compromise, they all agreed to seal there agreement with an oath, they agreed to meet by mid night at the boundary between Umunkata and Ezi Obodo.

Eze Ebube told Ikenna (the divine child) about the scheduled oath taking and he promised to be with him. The king of Ezi Obodo on the other hand has related the out come of the meeting to his cabinet and they were all happy about it.

The said day for the oath taking has come and the men were already gathered at mid night just when they were about to start the process, behold Ikenna appeared from no where with a calabash in his. The men were all shocked as Eze Ebube called on him to take them through the process.

Ikenna stood in their center and asked both the men from Ezi Obodo and the men form Umunkata to pierce their thumb with a sharp object in the calabash he is carrying and allow their blood to drop inside the calabash. All the men did as he instructed including the kings and they handed over the calabash back to him.

Ikenna: this is the blood of the covenant between Umukata and Ezi Obodo, from today Ezi Obodo shall forever be under the throne of Umunkata.

The men: Isee (so shall it be)

Ikenna: And never shall any man of Umunkata treat Ezi obodo like slaves rather like brothers bound together in blood covenant

The men: Isee (so shall it be)

Ikenna: Never in history shall Ezi Obodo rule over Umunkata, not now not in time to come

The men: Isee (so shall it be)

Ikenna Poured the blood on the ground and covered it with the calabash. To the surprise of everyone both the blood and the calabash disappeared.

He told all the men to return home for the gods has sealed their covenant and told them to tell not what happened here to no man.

And that was ikenna's first public show of divine powers.

The king of Umueze on getting Eze Ebube's message withdrew his warriors from all the territory of Ezi Obodo and Ezi Obodo enjoyed peace under Umunkata.

The gods has expanded Eze Ebube's kingdom and he is the greatest king that has ever reigned over Umunkata.
