Divorce?... what was he planning?

As fast as a bolt of lightening. A dark blue car sped through the road, angering a lot of road drivers and narrowly escaping a few accident. Sounds of angry horns from drivers who had sensible swerved out of the road to avoid being hit by this driver, echoed in the dark night still who so ever was driving this sports car was less concerned.

What would have taken almost am hour ended in fifteen minutes, at the suburbs of the city in front of a medium quality condo. The car door opened in a hurry and Devon stepped out. His expression darker than the night sky and a frightening murderous intent in his eyes. He looked like Yama appearing at his enemy's door wanting to take their soul.

His brows knitted the more when he saw the fully clothed men in Black suits and black shade standing outside of the condo.

"CEO Devon" The men greeted when he got near. This caused him to even frowned further, their expression showed they weren't surprised to see him. If they knew he would come how then were they still able to go against him like they are now?

"Leave this place immediately!" He ordered.

A complicated look showed on the faces of the men in black. One of them stepped forward. "I'm sorry CEO but we have been ordered to not leave her... Even if you were the one that ordered it" This was not the truth, they were told to not leave there ESPECIALLY if he was the one to order their departure.

Devon frowned and took out his phone. Their company's tag was attached to their suit so he knew who just to call and get these people away. The line rang for a long time and just when it was about to bee disconnected, it was picked.

"Hello Mr Devon" An elderly voice rang out from the receiver.

Devon went straight to the point "What is the meaning of this?!"

"Hehehe" the man chuckled. His tone carrying a hint of his slyness "Mr Devon, it's business"

"Withdraw your men and I'll offer what ever price you ask for" He offered.

The line went silent for a few minutes. Surely the man in the other side was enticed with the idea of asking for anything. He could even ask for 50% shares in MX corporation and this desperate young prince would surely fork it out for him. How enticing indeed! but even as enticing as it was, the man did not dare agree to this offer. Agreeing to it was akin to swallowing a delicious delicacy wrapped in poison.

"I'm sorry Mr Devon but business rule are meant to be kept. I can only reject your offer but I advice, perhaps seeking out your grandfather might get him to take back the contract he had given to my company" definitely one know better to respect the cub and fear the mother. Between this young man and his grandfather, he feared the old man more. Devon can only tred on places his grandfather allows him. Old man Hugo could destroy him in more quicker ways them Devon would so why would he reenact on their agreement to sign am agreement with Devon.

Grandfather?

As expected his grandfather was once again helping his daughter-in-law behind the set. Devon was not surprised, he had guessed that was how Gisele had managed to hire such high end Security company that many elites could not afford.

His grandfather...

With a cold expression, he turned and stomped back into his car. Like it had come, the car sped out of that district. Flying across town once again but this time not in the director home but on it's way to the Ancestral house.

It didn't take long too and Devon arrived at the Ancestral house.

Grandfather Hugo was just have his night routine completed and was intending to head off to sleep but he was eventually dragged off bed to meet with Devon.

"He's here?" He asked the Butler who had come to seek his audience.

"Yes Patriarch"

Old man Hugo sighed "Get him settled in the sitting room, I'll be there in a minute"

The Old man already knew why Devon was here still he could not avoid the young man. He left his room and went to meet with him.

"Why did you do that?" Devon asked angrily. If the old man wasn't his grandfather, he would have held him up by his collar already.

"I didn't do anything, Your wife did" Old man Hugo said tiredly. Gisele had called him hours ago and asked for his help, she wanted to use his influence to tackle Devon in his own game. Naturally he was more than happy to help her. The girl was considerate enough to make him promise he would not take credit for any blame and would attest to it all being her plan. He kind of understood what she was trying to do.

"She's not my wife!" Devon roared angrily at the Old man. Thin veins starting to appear on his head from how much he was gritting his teeth.

"A piece of paper in my room proves otherwise"

Devon frowned then took a deep breath "Take back those bodyguards"

"Believe me or not, I don't have a say in this. Only your wife's signature can take them back, perhaps just agree to her terms, it's not like there is any loss in that for you. Why are you so keen on monitoring her movement? It's not like you're suddenly interested in her right?" Hugo said indifferently. His words sounded nonchalantly but his tone seemed to be hinting on something. He had personally drafted Gisele's terms and there was really not any loss for Devon in it, it was just that he would lose all control over her. She would still be his wife and live under his roof but She was free to go anywhere, sleep out and even have a lover if she wanted. Obviously there should be no problem with the terms unless this ignorant young man was starting to consider her truly as his wife and thoughts of such cases infuriated him.

"Is this a joke?" Devon asked icily.

"Does it seem like one?" The old man asked back "Return your wife's freedom and she will return your wh*re's freedom. It's a win-win situation. Don't tell me this is hard for you to do?"

Devon suddenly scoffed "It amazes me how you bend your principles when it comes to her. But this is the height of it. Helping her frisk? Aren't your cheeks hurting already?"

"You're doing it so what's the difference? You're married yet you keep a mistress outside. Surely I'm not in support of it but this once I'll let it slide. After all she would need someone to fall back on when you both finally get divorced" Old man Hugo said with a matter of fact tone.

Divorce?

The Old man's words shocked Devon. He could only frown his brows deeply. Few weeks ago, this Old man had clearly stated that he would absolutely not let them get a divorce ever, but now he was the one mentioning them getting a divorce. Just what was he planning?

His mind could not help but go to Alan...Could it be?

Wordlessly, Devon stood up and straightened his suit. He gave the Old man one last glance then turned and left without saying anything. Perhaps there were no words he could say. He didn't was to agree to the Old man's words nor did he want to refute them. His confliction left him speechless.

Old man Hugo sat there and watched Devon's figure slowly disappear from his sight. An amused smile appeared on his lips. He was not angry with Devon rather he felt him to be kind of funny. This grandson of his was not only confused but he was complicated in a way that made him appear naive and ignorant. It was because of this that that vixen had been able to manipulate him for so long, but thankfully her antics were about to end. With a llittle push and a little tug, his grandson would be brought back to his senses.

"Let's go back" He signalled the Butler to lead him back to his room.

"Yes Patriarch"

At the same time. The door burst open suddenly. Old man thought it was Devon who had returned for another reason so he said and turned "Why are you back now?"

Just as he turned he saw the face of another young man. Dark and dripping what seemed to be like droplets of the rain that just began to fall.

"Alan?" He called out surprised. The young man looked like he had gone through some kind of trauma.

"Is it true?" Alan asked with a blank look. He seemed to have thought about his question cause he rephrased it the next second.

"Little G... I want to see her face. Do you have her picture?"

Old man Hugo paused a bit before nodding casually. He didn't know what was wrong with the young man but he was willing to listen "Let's go to the study" He urged then turned and began walking away. Alan was left with no choice but to follow him.
