Chapter 44

"Is it snowing?" Idris asked Nash, who was already waiting outside for the others.

"A little," As Nash spouts a word, a smoke comes out of her mouth. "Let's go now! Leader! Why are you so slow!?"

"What's so fun going to the market? There are lots of people there." Kane asked. His face shows disapproval of going to the market.

'This guy said he didn't want to come, and now he's coming? But, of course, I won't say that. He might change his mind. It's more fun if you're in a large group.'

They make their way to the town's center, where market stalls are located. Because of some merchants from another town, the town has more stalls than the other day.

"Nash! Stay close, you might get separated." Yjhan said. Nash nodded and grasped Jaxael's clothing. It didn't bother Jaxael.

"Nash! There's a donut!" Idris shouted pointing at the stall quite a distance from them.

'Woah... deja vu.'

"Really!?" Nash let go of Jaxael's clothes and was about to run off when Jaxael caught her wrist. "Why? Do you want one as well?"

"You might get separated."

"Idris is there too."

"Tell Yjhan."

Nash pouted and looked back where Yjhan was. He's currently looking at a stall where gemstones are sold.

"Leader! I'll be buying donuts with Idris, okay?"

"Don't go too far with Idris. You both are troublemakers, so behave as much as you can or else we'll return home!"

"Yes, leader!" Jaxael let go of Nash's wrist, allowing Nash to go to Idris, who was waiting.

"Woah! It smells good!" As soon as she stood in front of the stall, she asked, "Do you have any more chocolate-dipped ones?"

"I'm sorry, but this is the last one," said the lady vendor. Nash pouted.

"I'll take that one, please."

"This one has strawberry fillings, taste it." Idris let Nash take a bite. "How is it?"

"It's good! I want one too!" The vendor laughed at how bright Nash is.

As the vendor prepared the strawberry filling donut, Nash was ready to take a bite of the chocolate one when a yell was heard close to them.

"Thief!" A thin voice shouted, "Help! The thief stole my money!"

"Nash! Behind you!" Nash hears Aerie's voice, and then an arm encircles her and points a knife at her side.

Nash was shocked and at the same time was about to burst.

'My donut!'

"The donut..." Idris said. He's looking at the donut which fell when the thief pulled Nash and stepped on it.

"Move or I'll stab this young lady right here!" Nash looked at the guy with a blank face. "What are you looking at?"

'He's trembling.'

"The donut..." Nash whispered.

"The what!?"

"The donut! That was the last piece! It fell and you stepped on it!"

"Shut up! I don't care about that donut!"

"Well I do!" Nash attacked the man with her head. She kicked the thief in the face as soon as she was free of the thief's arm, and when the thief collapsed, she stepped on the wrist where the knife was, causing his hands to lose power.

'It's not your average knife... I had no idea this was invented right here...'

"Nice, knife. Mind if I have it?" She grabbed the knife and performed tricks on it. 'It's a butterfly knife, or so as we call Balisong.'

"That's mine!"

Nash scoffed. "What about the money you stole? Is that yours?"

The thief didn't say anything.

"Tsk. Give me that money pouch, and I'll let you go and give you this back." Nash received the money packet from the thief.

Nash grinned, "Kidding."

She moved behind him and smacked his nape, causing him to lose consciousness.

"Thank you very much, young lady!" A woman in her forties, clutching a bag of chocolate donuts, stated. Nash smiled as he handed her the money pouch.

"You're welcome. Please take care the next time you go out alone."

"Nash... The donut." Idris said as soon as he got close to her.

"Haa..." Nash picked up the soiled donut and tossed it in the trashcan before looking at the vendor. "I'm sorry I wasted your food."

"No no, it's fine. Come again tomorrow and I'll reserve you some. Here's your strawberry filled donut."

"Thank you," Nash pouted as she munched at the donut.

"Young lady," Nash looked behind her and saw that the lady she helped was still there.

"Oh? Is there something wrong?" the lady shook her head. She asked the vendor for a bag and put three doughnuts from her bag into the bag she requested from the vendor and gave it to Nash. "It's the chocolate-covered one..."

"Yes, it is, and please accept my gratitude," the lady says sincerely.

"No! It's fine. You can have it back!" Nash kept implying that the lady would accept it back, but the lady continued to reject her. "Then I'll simply take one."

"It's fine, I have a lot with me, so take it. Take care, young lady." Before Nash even stops her once again, the lady walks away, fast...

Literally fast...

"Well, that was fast." Nash mumbled.

"Are you hurt?" Aeries asked.

Nash inspected her body and saw no scratch, "Nope."

"What is that? Did you steal that from the thief?" Yjhan asked.

Nash looked at her hand, holding the butterfly knife.

"This one is called butterfly knife, why? It's because it looks like one," she performed tricks she saw on youtube before.

"Let me try," Idris snatched it from Nash's grasp and began doing stunts, but each time he failed, it fell to the ground.

"Idiot! It's like this!"

"I'm older than you!"

"That doesn't change the fact that you're a moron." Nash tucked her tongue out before teaching Idris the basics.

"Give that to the guards," Yjhan ordered as the knight guards approached.

"Ehhh..."

"Nash."

"Fine. Fine."

Nash hands the knife to the knight guards and watches them flee.

"Let's go," Jaxael grabbed Nash's wrist.

"Where are we going?" Nash asks as she prepares herself to take a bite of the donut.

'It's delicious!'

"I'm just following Yjhan."

Nash simply nodded and continued to eat.

They went to town and got a few things they might need in the future. Of course, Idris and Nash will not be pleased unless they purchase additional foods.

Nash's hands are occupied while she eats a BBQ.

"Let me hold that." She turned around looking at the guy who spoke.

It was Aiden.

Nash gazed at him for a moment before handing him all of her bags. She began to buy more after giving the bags to Aiden because her hands were now empty.

Nash went by an accessories stall as they continued walking.

"Buy now, young lady. If you purchased one of these hairpins, you could get one more for free." Says the old man vendor.

"Really?!" The old man smiled and nodded. "Then I'll pick..."

She looked at the hair accessories, 'Maybe I should buy Katherine and Marais.

But I don't know Marais' dress...'

"We also offer other jewelry crafted with high-quality diamonds. Despite the fact that it is commonly used, we nonetheless supply a one-of-a-kind structure for an accessory."

"Then, I'll take this headpiece and this necklace."

"That'll be 2 copper, young lady."

She paid for the accessory she bought before following the others.

Their town expedition comes to an end as soon as the clock strikes 10 and the snow starts to fall heavily.
