Rai's POV: Revenge

Discreetly, Jahei escorted me to the courtyard, where he closed the gates as I undressed behind a tall tree trunk. With no time to spare, I untied the straps on my halter top and pulled the string on my shorts, unraveling the cloth entirely until I was bare. Swiftly, I folded my attire and turned my head to my son, who by now was used to seeing me transform and extended his arm to reach for the clothes. It was not surprising however, since beings like us were more frequently nude than clothed and when transforming mortal clothes were often quick to get burnt by my flames.

On the contrary, I suppose humans would find this strange, I mused while looking at my son before unleashing my powers. "Jahei my sweet boy, be a dear and put this in my room," I requested, handing him my clothes. "Of course, mother," he said in his typical nonchalant manner. After handing off my attire, I stepped back from the tree and released all tension in my body as if I were preparing to float against the surface of lake. Then, without a moment's notice, my body was set ablaze. Sparks of a burning flame, engulfed me, erupting from my flesh and seizing me whole.

As if a demon was being formed, I began to exude a black tar like substances from my chest and hip bones. It was sprouting through my flesh and engulfing my outer body. In the blink of an eye, I was clothed once again by a dark black leather like bikini. This unusual outfit was in fact, an indestructible molded armor that formed from the cells within my body. It wasn't meant to protect me from harm in the traditional sense rather magnanimous flames would instantly swirl around my body whenever I donned my leather like bikini. Those flames were a barrier that prevent anything from touching me without my explicit consent. They were hotter than the sun and not even the hardest substance on earth could touch me once I was in this form.

Not only was my outfit intimidating but like a cat my nails grew into claws. Evidently, they looked like sharp black nails several centimeters long. In a similar fashion, my eyes which could stop the hearts of ten thousand humans turned to flaming red embers glowering with passion. By the time I was done transforming into my true form, my body was laced with floral markings similar to mehndi patterns and my appearance was remarkably different. It was apparent that I looked insanely chaotic like a volcano before it erupts.

Ironically, this wasn't even my final form, at the moment I was only using ten percent of my true powers but that was more than enough to deal with those pathetic fleas. In this form, I was strong enough to destroy a planet with the flick of my fingers or swallow the sun like it was a tiny pill. To put it bluntly, I was already in an abnormally terrifying state by mortal standards.

"This is more than enough to kill a few pests," I reassured myself, flexing my wrists and preparing to take flight. "Are you ready to depart mother?" Jahei asked, his typically brown mortal eyes now silver blue like ice crystals. "Yes, my dearest winter child. I shall return before sunset so keep an eye on our little patient. I need to go punish the ones who made him cry." I spoke softly but my tone and my eyes showed bloodlust.

"Come back soon mother," Jahei begged as he normally did when we had to be apart before kissing my cheek and embracing me tenderly. "Of course, my sweetheart," I promised with a kiss as my body mesmerizingly dissipating into the wind like ashes being carried away in a fluttering gust. My body burst into an undetectable state and I began to drift into the air. In my particlized state, I traveled across the skies and through the lands like a cloud traveling freely until I reached my destination.

Majestically, I reformed my body to its solid form once I was near the hideout of that sleazy scumbag gangsters. How dare he live after wreaking havoc on this province! According to my resources, Rahu was the boss of a corrupt gang that spread around the Ningxia province. He would go to various parts of the northern regions to conducted a bunch of illegal gambling activities and setup drug dens and brothels. He was doing all sorts of vulgar things like hitman operations, kidnapping, human trafficking, opium smuggling, bribing and extorting money. To name a few… this jerk was a real piece of work that's for sure!

Basically, that filthy swine was a really crime lord and I was appalled! He was a wanted criminal and outlawed in many areas of China but he used money and worked with corrupt bigwigs to slide pass the justice system. After Jahei ruined his business, he retreated to his fortress the in Tengger desert. That's where I had landed and from what I could see there really were outlaws lurking in this dusty wasteland. "What a loser! Running away and hiding from the law after getting his gross butt kicked by my son, how pathetic! You shriveled up worm of a man!" I cursed the villain of this story with great animosity. "Now the real fun begins," I howled ominously as a devilish smirk painted upon my once gentle face.

At this point, I was prepared to strike down anyone in my path. I had no qualms about sending souls to their ruin nor did I hesitate to bathe in the blood of my enemies while they screamed in agony as I tore them apart limb from limb. My goal wasn't to just show up and quietly end things. No, I wanted more. I wanted vengeance. By no means, was I going to settle for a peaceful death sentence. Rather, to satisfy my rage, I wanted to see chaos and blood. I wanted to terrorize the ones who committed sins against the innocent and eradicate everyone in this fortress who pledged their loyalty to that vile roach named Rahu.

With a bloodcurdling cry, I screeched vehemently to declare my forthcoming attack. In a brazen manner, I raised my right hand and allowed my flames to warp and expand into a large menacing entity. "I summon the dragon of flames to do my bidding," I chanted, as fire blossomed from my flesh and engulfed the fortress walls. Menacingly, I leered from above. I was floating in the air with my dark obsidian batlike wings spreading against the blustery winds. Turning my fingers in various intricate maneuvers, as my nails grew sharper by the second, I weaved a demonic fire storm. Like a maze, I created a fiery cage to engulf to fortress while a titanic sized dragon sat above it, nailing the cage down into submission.

Impressively, my golden beast created by my flames was already scorching the entire vicinity to an ashy state. From the bottom, its tail and lower body coiled around the building perimeters and its upper body engulfed the skies. In turn, it was as if my dragon formed a beehive like prison around the fortress making it impossible for anyone to escape my trap.

At this point, there was no way out. Everything in sight was wrapped within my inextinguishable, scorching draconian flames. Forebodingly, I cackled as I sat atop the beast's forehead and watched the impudent humans run in circles wondering what the hell is going on. Not more than a minute has pasted, and my fire dragon already swallowed their puny little getaway in a sea of flames.

"Alright, it's time to go skin the roast pigs." I laughed to myself as I commanded the beast to loom closer into the fortress. Granted, the dragon was not alive. It was merely an inanimate mass of fire shaped to look like a living dragon. However, for the sake of vanity I thought a mighty fire dragon would be more impressionable than me just showing up out of nowhere to beati up these moronic barbarians. Gracefully, I commanded the flames to descend, breaking the roof of the fortress and hovering just above the remnants of the ceiling.

Cowering below, I could see a group of arrogant men who were gathering their artillery to assault me and defend their worthless hideout. "Kill her! Kill the demon, she's controlling that dragon! Quickly, raise your weapons men," a man shouted as he pointed at me with malicious eyes. Haughtily, I replied with a sharp glare. He trembled, and fell backwards but the fools that he commanded continued to shoot their arrows at me. As if it mattered, the imbeciles shot arrows while another lot of men used swords and spears to cut my dragon. Yet, much to their dismay, none of their attacks could harm us.

Mockingly, I laughed and ridiculed their weak little attempts as they were incapable of hitting me. They only thing they could do was disintegrate their powerless attacks into my flames. As it would seem, everything they threw at me burned to ashes and within seconds their weapons, their flesh and their arrows became heaps of rubble, leaving me undamaged and utterly bored. "Honestly, is that all you can do mortals? I could take a nap while fighting you stupid, reckless, arrogant fleas," I mocked them continuously with a taunting smirk.

"You there, the ugly one barking orders, tell me where is the scum lord Rahu?" I pointed the monkey who still dared to glare at me. "The name is Jin! You ugly she-devil!" He insulted me with petulance and I scowled at him. Like the fool that he was, the stupid man flinched at the sight of my rage and fell backward on the ground like an insect. "So be it Jin, you may all die now," I cursed the men trying to attack me. With words that bound their souls, they could no longer control their bodies nor move a muscle.

Tauntingly, I made a few hand gestures pointing at their chests and instantly all of their hearts exploded like a ticking time bomb. In a matter of seconds, the blood of my enemies gushed everywhere, until they all died in agony. Due to my lack of patience, I decided to end this petty scuffle so that I could return to my family in a timely manner. With a deep sigh of utter disgust, I spoke ominously. "Rahu~ come out, come out where ever you are~ if I don't see you in the next three seconds, I will dismember you and burn you alive." I sung villainously while stepping down from my blazing mount and landing on the broken fortress floor.

The ground was covered in debris, corpses, and blood. "You hideous demon! How dare an insolent demoness like you order around me!" I could hear Rahu shouting obscene words from his little basement cubby with my beastly senses. Unimpressed with his arrogance and tired of him verbal abuse, I decided to silence him permanently. Once again, I lifted my hand in his direction, I used my abilities to stop his heart by commanding it to cease function.

Then, I continued to apply pressure, crushing, and squeezing his heart until it exploded within his body, rendering him utterly useless as he always was. "Oh? Are you dead already Rahu?" I asked sarcastically. After assaulting the fiend, I engulfed my body in flames and decided to confirm he was indeed dead. With a yank, I pulled the basement door wide open and made my way down stairs.

"Honestly, what a filthy place this is," I muttered with disgust. Uninterested in formalities, I strolled up Rahu's body, where he laid disfigured and on his last bit of consciousness. "What the hell are you," he cried, his eyes were full of intense fear and his body was bound to collapse at any moment now. Boldly, I replied, "I am the Goddess Raiszadah." With that response, his eyes widened in fear and the rotten leech died instantly. Slightly dissatisfied by this anticlimactic scene, I summoned ballistic flames to engulf the entire fortress, charring everything in sight to ashy cinder.

In the end, there was nothing left but ashes, rumble, and desert sand. "I guess it's over," I said while wiping sweat off my forehead. Without much else to do, I retracted my dragon and ceased the flames now that everything I wished to destroy was destroyed. Fortunately, now one less nuisance existed in this humble little world, I thought with a sigh. "It's all over. Now Xiao Bai is free from your evil clutches and he can begin to heal from this terrible nightmare." I mumbled to myself while fading away into the wind.

After taking care of those ruffians, I cleaned myself off at a nearby oasis before I made my way back home. To my relief, Jahei was waiting for me in my bedroom with the window open so I could sneak it. "Welcome home mother," he said while handing me my clothes as I reverted back to my mortal form. Swiftly, I dressed myself and turned to my son who was politely looking away.

"Jahei~" I sung his name, while going up to him for a hug. "Did you miss me? Is everything okay sweetie? How's Xiao Bai? Are the girls home yet? I missed you," I said while hugging my son warmly. "I missed you too mother," Jahei mumbled shyly while snuggling up with me. "The ladies just got home and went to the kitchen to begin cooking dinner. They didn't notice you were gone at all. As for the boy, he's fast asleep, the medicine is working effectively," Jahei informed me while stroking my hair.

"You're such a good son. So dependable and helpful, thank you for always helping me dear." I thanked my precious son because I knew lately, we didn't get much alone time and he was the type to pretend he was fine but he was really anxious. Jahei looked at me with his puppy dog eyes and continued to report what happened while I was away. "Since Xiao Bai was asleep, I used my deity eyes, to examine his condition. From what I can tell the mermaid tears elixir is working properly. He should be healthy and well in two weeks," my dear son explained the current situation.

To my knowledge, Jahei was the most renown doctor in all the living realms. He could examine people by just looking at them by using his special sight. Easily, he was able to cross-examine anything made of water, including humans on a cellular level. This gave him the ability to examine the sick just by looking at them. He was like a living scanner that could detect any human medical condition just by looking at them, it was an exclusive ability that only the Water God could master. Moreover, Jahei was able to heal living organisms with certain bodily fluids including his saliva and tears. Those two attributes could cure any illness and heal any wounds as long as it wasn't fatal or terminal.

In the same way, his blood could revive the dead or save lives but it was only a one in a five billion chance that a human would survive if they drank our blood so it was horribly risky and the side effect was death if it failed. "You made his medicine with mermaid's tears? Jahei, did you cry?" I questioned my baby with a concerned face. He let go of our embrace and flashed me a brooding scowl as if I just embarrassed him.

"Mother... you know I can cry on command, there are no emotional reasons behind it so don't concern yourself so much," he rebutted trying to look cool. "Really? Is something bothering you?" I pressed on, trying to make sure I wasn't neglecting him. "It's fine. I just wanted you to be happy so I decided to help the child survive," Jahei confessed while staring into my eyes with a pitiful look. "Jahei my love, you really are the sweetest boy," I praised him while affectionately kissing his cheek.

"Mother, I don't want you to ever leave my side again. What happened at that lake a few years ago, I hated it! When we were apart like that, I was so lonely and distraught. Please don't abandon me again... I don't care where you go or what you do so, please take me with you. If you should find yourself drowning again, let me drown with you too." Jahei humbly spoke his mind, his words pouring out like a waterfall.

Upon hearing these words, I felt guilty and ashamed of myself for bringing him along into my selfishness. I never meant to abandon him; I was always trying to protect him. If we got too close, he could die too. If I wasn't careful with how I acted he would become another victim to my curse. Because I loved him the most in this entire world, he was my most precious son, I kept my distance to keep him safe but I realized now that I was wrong for doing such things.

More than anything, I should have just stayed by his side. Even if it was risky, I should have stayed. Because the way he looks at me now, breaks my heart even more. "I'm so sorry darling, I was being foolish and selfish. I was trying to keep you safe by doing things on my own but instead of protecting you I made you feel lonely in this cruel world, didn't it?" I cried knowing I messed up. In this moment, I realized I was wrong for leaving his side and trying to die several years ago all by myself like a coward.

"Mhm, you were wrong mother. You were absolutely wrong. But I love you. And I will forgive you if you promise to never disappear like that again. Don't let anything or anyone control your heart like that please," he begged me, holding me, and crying in despair. Unlike murdering those idiots in the desert where I felt not one ounce of remorse, seeing my beloved child cry made me want to tear my own entire heart out for his sake. "A mother's love never dies, you silly boy. I promise no matter what I'll never leave your side. I will always be nearby so you won't feel alone ever again." I swore to him with a forehead boop then we both smiled at each other. After drying his eyes with a handkerchief then my own I looked at my dear son with a humble expression before asking a random question.

"By the way, I've been meaning to ask all day, why does the boy call you Shifu?" I inquired with a bemused expression. Jahei stared off into space for a moment before going into a deep thought mode. "Something about respecting elders, I think. He was really determined not to call me Jahei. I don't know why. I just agreed to it since it seemed troublesome to argue with a child," my son replied with a bored shrug. "Huh. Makes sense but it's weird," the words slipped out of my mouth with a deadpan expression. Nonchalantly my son nodded and agreed. "Indeed, it is", he replied in solidarity. Tilting my head in a thinking manner I said, "I guess for now we just have to go at his pace huh?"

"Yes, he's been traumatized and has a lot of mental health issues so it's best not to push him too hard. It would be bad if he had a mental break down because he was struggling to adjust to a new environment with different social values." Jahei replied, acknowledging the situation with careful consideration to Xiao Bai. "I agree. I'll be more considerate since I keep stepping on toes like a moron. I'm just not used to all these etiquette things and I prefer a casual mannerism more but he's very formal so its awkward at times." I grumbled, scratching the back of my head while I walked towards the hallway to go back and check on Xiao Bai.

"I believe you will be able to help him just give it some time. Things will improve if we both work together." My son said before strolling off to his office, leaving me at the boy's bedroom door. "I hope so. I really want him to smile one day", I muttered to myself before sliding the door open. "Xiao Bai~ are you still asleep?" I asked cautiously, trying to see if he was awake or not. "Mmmm, my lady is that you?" he called out to me still in a groggy state. Steadily, I scuttled over to his bed and turned on the oil lamp so he could see my face clearly.

"It's dinner time Xiao Bai. How are you feeling? Can you stand? Abba said the medicine would make you feel weak for a few days while it heals your body. Should I bring your food to you? We can eat in your room if you prefer." I said trying to be helpful and positive so Xiao Bai could feel comfortable with my presence.

Hopefully, he will adjust and recover soon. I trusted Jahei's medical knowledge because I knew if he said he could cure someone he meant it. He was the God of Water, the God who could heal and treat any sick person that was his specialty. Of course, I knew he could help Xiao Bai. I suppose it's just a matter of time since Xiao Bai is a mortal. They tend to recovery slowly from such serious injuries. With acceptance, I stopped overthinking things and awaited Xiao Bai's response.
