W-W-W-W-W-W-What is happening here? Why are they ignoring us? WHY THE HELL WOULD AWAKENS IGNORE US???

They all again sat on their bikes and started driving. Quicken up their pace.

As they passed by, the number of Awakens started to increase.

Don't know was that because the night was coming or was that because the deads were walking towards Carin City.

Either way. It was bad news for them.

Very bad.

After driving the bike continuously for half an hour, they finally entered Carin City. But what they saw there nearly made them piss their pants.

"RUN!!!" All three had the same thought and without thinking, Ashton started the bike and at a full-speed ran towards the mall.

Sam was the same as he followed them from behind.

Awakens. They were everywhere. The whole city was filled with them.

Too many to count.

Roads were crowded by awakens as they just stood there, not doing anything.

But what made them shocked was that no matter which awakens saw them. It just ignored them and ran towards Carin City.

Not doing anything to them. And without any hitch, they entered the mall.

The mall was empty. No one to see except the remains of the dead.

"W-What is happening here? Why are they ignoring us? WHY THE HELL WOULD AWAKEN IGNORE US???" Matt yelled as he looked at the awakens from the mall.

Awakens were walking like they were humans. Not hitting anyone, or biting anyone, they were just walking as fast as they could and ignoring no matter who got in their way.

Even when he fired and killed tens of them while coming towards the mall. They still didn't do anything.

They just ignored him.

Nobody stopped.

Before if awakens saw humans, they would become like crazy freaks and start biting and killing indiscriminately.

Not to say, when they killed any awaken in front of them.

But right now, no matter how much he killed. No awaken give a damn about them.

"I-I don't know, nor do I care. We need to get to my house. Right now, this instant." Sam stuttered as he fearfully looked at all the awakens from the mall.

The number of awakens passing from the road was so many that the road was now nearly crowded.

½ mile-straight road was filled with awakens and was still crowded. This was only what they could see. Other than that, there might be even many more.

But the thing that made them even more fearful than the awakens was the thing from whom the awakens were running.

Yes.

Running.

All the awakens were running. Even if they had to kill their own on the way.

They didn't even mind if humans killed other awakens in front of them. At least, they didn't mind them killing other awakens.

The number of awakens passing by them was so many that now the road was literally crowded.

But still, no awaken attacked them. Ignoring them and running in the opposite direction of them. Like they were fearful of someone or something.

"You are kidding, right? I mean, look outside. What do you see? Can you even see a fucking road to walk? How the hell do you want us to go? I know we got some powers now but that doesn't make us superhero."

"Stop deluding yourself. Right now, the most important thing is to know where the hell these Awakens are running to. Why the hell are they running for? Who the hell are they running from?" Matt spoke and spoke and spoke but never took his eyes off of the road.

"I need to get to my house tonight. P-Please, Matt. My sister, she is just 12 years old. I don't even know if she is alone or with Chris. Pleaseeeeee." Sam begged. His eyes were now red and teary.

"I can understand you, Sam. If it was me, and Matty was alone, I would've lost my mind too. But we can't leave here, neither you nor Matty.

"Until this herd passes by, going outside is nothing more than suicide. And as long as your siblings stay inside their house, nothing will happen."

"Awakens didn't even attack us even though we were the clear target for them. Right now, they are afraid and are running from something. Or to somewhere."

"But whatever it is. It's the real danger. So let's wait, and when we get the chance, we will leave." Ashton, who was silent from the start, spoke and finalized the argument.

"Ash is right, Sam. We aren't saying we won't go. We will. But when the right time comes. We need to be patient right now."

"Only alive we will have any chance. Dead. We will have nothing. So, you better get ahold of your emotions right now. Think with your brain, not from your heart." Matt calmly spoke.

Sam just looked at Ashton and Matt and sighed. He knew they were right.

But he still couldn't calm himself down. Especially not after seeing such a big herd of awakens.

The more he saw them. The more fearful he became. But he just took as many deep breaths as he could to calm his emotions down.

"Crush all the cards you got, Sam. Ash and I will do the same. Looking at this herd. I don't want to leave anything to chance." Matt spoke as he pulled cards out from god knows where.

Sam hurriedly nodded as also pulled his cards out.

Matt sorted out all the cards in his hand.

There was a total of 372 cards. Including the ones he had left from before. There were 329 cards that were green, meaning they were stat cards.

21 Purple cards that they had never seen before. 20 black cards. And 2 golden cards.

Out of 329 green cards. There were 119 Strength cards, 101 Intelligence cards, 67 Endurance cards, and 42 Agility cards.

"Here, you take 70 Strength cards, 50 Intelligence cards, 37 Endurance cards, and 22 Agility cards," Matt said as he passed the cards to Ashton.

"Why are you giving so many to me? What about you?" Ashton asked as he worriedly looked at Matt.

"We don't have time for this. You are the one who can use the guns most professionally here and also have the most types of guns."

"The more powerful you are, the better it is for the group. Anyway, these cards are enough for me. My stats are far above yours. No big deal." Matt explained as he looked at other cards.

Ashton nodded and crushed all the cards altogether. And again, he felt that comfortable feeling all over his body. Then his muscles started to tighten, his body started to feel light, his brain started to lighten up, and he felt relaxed.
