The pages of the tome closed on its own after Ma Hao walked back through the rift. Flap, flap, flap, flap thud. Zekith was on his back breathing heavily. Huff, huff, huff.
The room was quiet once again. The tome was closed and no strange energy was in the room. Ren came out of the ring. "Zekith, that man was unbelievably powerful. Who was that?" She was clearly startled by being forced back into the ring.
"That was my ancestor. For now that is the extent of what I can tell you." He wasn't lying. Something was preventing him from telling her about the experience. Then it donned on him. "Every family member that has come after Aunt Pol has seen this tome. Yet, not a single one has ever discussed meeting the ancestor. There must be a seal of some sort placed on the members of the Ra clan preventing us from saying anything." He spoke with confidence. Ren could only nod in acknowledgement. She could feel the power of the person. So there was no reason to doubt the boys words.
"Well did you learn anything that will be helpful as we train to increase you power within this next month?" She shock off he fear and focused on the matter at hand. Suddenly, as if answering her question the ring on his finger began to shine brightly. It was so bright that Zekith had to close his eyes and look away. This light encircled itself around him. Encasing his whole body in light. Ren watched in wonder as this intense light cocooned the boy. She could tell that it wasn't harmful. But, she also had no idea what was going on. But, her connection with Zekith wasn't severed. So she relayed what she saw to him through this connection. Clearly the Ouroboros ring had mysteries that even Ren, a soul living in the ring itself, didn't know about or understand. A few minutes passed like this and it was still way to bright to open his eyes. He could only wait. Because Ren was telling him that the light encasing him was getting smaller. At least its getting smaller. He thought. Zzzt! Without warning his mind began filling with information. "Ah!" He cried out in surprise.
"What's wrong?" Ren quickly asked in alarm.
"Oh, sorry. It's nothing don't worry. I was just surprised. I have learned or more accurately I am learning something. There is information coming to my mind. It seems to be a set of poses. It looks like there are ten all together. They lined up into two groups of five." As he explained this. The cocoon of light was completely absorbed. "There also seems to be a message. It says don't even try to learn the second and third set until I have mastered the first! But, where is the first set?" Zekith pondered.
"I have a feeling that someone here already has the first set, and set two and three are something exclusive to you. This might be a gift from the ancestor to you." Ren reasoned.
When he thought about it again. He shock his head in agreement. "There is no use dwelling on it for now anyway. Just like there are many rooms within the ring that I cannot currently go into. Wait?" With a thought he closed his eyes and his consciousness entered the ring. "Something is different." He immediately said. Ren stood next to him. She was curious as well. He waved his hand and two areas became visible. In one room all ten of the poses stood there. They all looked like Zekith. Ten full statues. This room was called combat training. And another empty room. But this room excited him greatly. Because this room was simple labeled storage. He immediately understood that his Ouroboros ring was capable of storing items within it. The significands of this was great because storage devices were very rare. He had heard of them before. Usually from a traveler or elder. But he had never seen one. Yet, now he was in possession of the famed storage device.
Opening his eyes. He finally set up from the laying position. The room was dark due to night falling. He looked out the window and the moon light gave everything a soft blue hue. Across the yard he noticed a small golden flash dart across the floor and enter the side gate leading to the back area. "What in the world was that? Shouldn't this area be void of all monsters, beast and animals?" With his curiosity peeked. Zekith opened the glass pane and hopped out the window. Heading to the side gate to investigate. Arriving at the gate moments later. Opening it and letting himself in. What he entered was a side garden that spanned the side of the long house. There were hundreds of flowers and some even gave off a glow at night. Clearly they were elemental flowers. The sight stunned him for a moment. Suddenly, his eyes once again caught sight of a small golden creature. It was walking through the flower beds eating certain plants. As he observed, he noticed that it was a turtle. This little guy was very tiny. But, its moment speed was lightening fast. When it walked it you could clearly see it. But, when it ran all you could see was a golden after image and a gold streak leading in the direction the turtle went. "This speed!" Ren gasped.
"How do you suppose it got here?" Zekith questioned.
"I'm just as clueless as you in this regard." She retorted.
"I'm going to catch it!" His eyes brightened.
"You don't have the speed necessary." Ren was serious.
"I don't need speed. Just watch and see." He seemed to have already known Ren was going to answer like that.
"Oh! You seem to have a plan. The I'll wait to see you results." Her sarcasm was unmistakable.
This didn't bother Zekith. He turned and left the garden. A few minutes later he can back with a sack. From his observations earlier he noticed that the baby turtle only ate the flowers that housed the earth element. So he made sure that his flower buds, fruits and vegetables all had earth element. Placing the sack on the floor and vroosh fruits, vegetables and flower buds came out of his Ouroboros ring. It was carefully arranging in a beautiful offering. He stepped back and sat down. Five minutes pass. Ten minutes pass. Twenty minutes pass. A whole hour passes.
"Zekith are you sure we shouldn't try this on another day? It's getting kinda..." Ren stopped talking as a tiny baby turtle slowly approached the boy and the sack of food.
"Told you Ren. I don't need speed." Zekith smirked as he spoke.
The little turtle made its way over to the flower buds arranged on the sack. He could now clearly see the baby turtle. It had the face of a snapper and was green and a mixture of brown. On each of its 13 crowned shell was a golden tattoo. Each sparkled in the moonlight. As the baby turtle consumed the buds. One could tell that it was enjoying itself. Zekith could clearly see a smile of bliss on the little creatures mouth. Not wanting to disturb the baby turtles' meal he slowly got up and left. Doing this left Ren confused.
"Weren't you going to catch it?" She questioned.
"In due time." His response was as if he already knew the outcome. Returning to his room and went straight to bed. The next morning was going to be busy. He had to meet Aunt Pol early.
