The police came to the scene and dragged the suspects inside the car with cuffs on their hands. When I went back to Kylo, she was already with Treyton. He hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead. Unfortunately, he wasn’t under my supervision.
“Treyton? What took you so long? I can’t believe you left your girlfriend on this dangerous path,” I said in dismay.
He bowed down his head with a faint smile.
“I’m sorry, Professor,” he said.
“It wasn’t his fault. It’s my idea to lure them.”
I averted my gaze to Kylo.
“What? What made you think of that, Ms. Morris? Something bad would have happened to you if I did not arrive on time. Aren’t you scared?”
She looked at me in the eye, and I felt odd.
“No, because I know you’ll be on time.”
I was about to respond when someone hugged me from the back.
“Honey, you’re coming home with me now, whether you like it or you like it a lot.”
I held her hand and turned around to look at her.
“I am indeed the luckiest man alive.”
