An Unexpected Threat

POV: Allan

"This place really is good..."

"Isn't it? I never get bored form this place, instead I come here when I got bored..."

I was at the flower garden owned by Royal Family of Kingdom Renhard. I come here with Lucia cause she asked me to accompany her. Obviously few knights also come with us.

I have already visited this quite a few times, illegally though.

We were looking at beautiful scenery full of flowers in front of us.

"Whenever I visit this place, I also feel like never return home just stay here, always. But I'm always pretty busy so I can't do that."

"But you still come here everyday didn't you."

"T-That... Well it's just, this place is so beautiful..."

"Yeah, even I wish to visit this place everyday. I don't know why but this place give me peace of mind."

I really don't know it myself... Maybe... It's just because this place is full flowers... She loved flowers, specially, the white ones...

"Allan?"

"Ah my bad, I lost in thoughts. You want to say something?"

"Y-You see, since you really like this, you can visit this place whenever you want."

She said while looking down. Her checks were slightly red and she was trying to avoid eye-contact.

"Really, thank you. I'm really glad that I can visit this place again."

"N-No, no. It's not such a big deal, really. Even I would be happy if I got a chance to visit this place again... with you."

"Thank you." I smiled.

"A-Ah, It's alright. S-See, look these butterflies are also beautiful."

She turned her face away looking in different direction, trying her best to not show her red face.

'Hey! Don't tell that she...' I sighed.

"Well whatever."

We spend few time there chatting about this and that, but whole time her face was slightly red.

"Lucia, are you feeling well? You're face is a bit red."

I touched her forehead with my hand, measuring her body temperature.

"Well it doesn't seems like you have fever."

"I-I'm f-f-fine! Really!"

She stepped back flustered. Her face become more brighter then before.

'Yeah, she really is...' I thought.

"W-Well forgot about me, I-I am fine. What about you? What do you do?"

"Well, I'm just a traveler. Wherever the way leads I also go there. I don't particularly have any place to live. I hunt and sell for living and train myself in the free time..."

"I-I see. So, don't you have any aims or goals in your life."

"Do you have any?"

"W-Well now you have said it, I never particularly thought about it. I born as a princess, I got everything I wish I have. All I want is to live a happy life and do something for my nation... Yeah but there is one goal I must achieve."

"What is it?"

"... To defeat the Demon Lord."

"Is that so. Well I think that if it's you guys then it's possible."

"T-Thanks."

Yeah, I already understand this much that the reason all these people obtain divine protection was to defeat this Demon Lord...From what I have seen until now is that this Demon Lord is not a good guy who would like to live I peace. Demons who were planing to ambush other day in forest is one example of the acts of Demon Lord...

Wait Demon Lord!? What will be a Demon Lord doing on a planet? If it's a Demon Lord then I don't think that the divine protection and power these guys have now can protect them. Hell! They can't even lay a finger on a Demon Lord...

Maybe I should do some research about this so called 𝘿𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣 𝙇𝙤𝙧𝙙...

"...You didn't tell about yours. What is you goal."

"Well, I'm sorry that but I can't tell you about what my goal is. But I do have a important goal that I have to achieve, no, I must achieve. And I am on my journey to move towards my goal."

Slowly, steadily, I am walking towards my aim. It will take a long time to reach to the end of my journey, but everything has an ending. I hope that it end well for me...

"And when it ends, I believe that I can stand tall and feel proud of myself..."

Lucia thought.

"So, are going to leave?"

"Yeah, it's not like I am going to spend my whole life in this Kingdom."

"... When?"

"Well tomo-?"

"Princess!"

Before Allan could finish, a knight came running called out Lucia.

"What happened? Is there something you need?"

"P-Princess, His Majesty has ordered that you should immediately return to the castle. There is a huge army of demons outside the Royal Capital."

"What!? Demon army!"

"Yes! There are more than 5000 in number!"

"That's a huge problem."

"We should had to the castle for now. Your life would be in danger if they found out that you are here." Allan said.

"Ok."

With that, Allan and Lucia returned to castle...

"Lucia, you have returned."

King, Laren, and Leon approached Lucia.

"Brother, what is this? How come demon army appeared outside capital without anyone getting noticed."

"...That's what I am thinking." Laren said.

"They may have used some sort of magic artifact that enables invisibility." Allan said.

"But a magic to make the whole army invisible, is that even possible!?" Leon asked.

"That's what I am thinking. An ordinary artifact cannot trigger such a huge scale magic. This must be the work of that Demon Lord."

At Allan's words, everyone's face become stiff.

"Mr.Allan, please lend us your strength. I beg you, I will do anything to repay your debt. So please lend us your power." King said.

Everyone turned to Allan, looking at him as if saying the same thing.

"Sir Allan please help us else this Kingdom will not survive. If you lend us your strength, we can protect the Kingdom and all it's people... Sir the life of those innocents is in your hand, so please." Leon urged to Allan.

Allan sighed, "Alright, alright. I will handle it, so it leave it to me."

King grabbed Allan's both hand.

"Oh thank goodness that you agreed, Mr. Allan. Well then, Leon prepare-?"

"I said I will handle it myself, didn't I?"

Before king could finish, Allan spoke up.

"...Huh? What do you mean?"

"I mean what I said. I will handle this Demon army myself. There is no need for you to do any preparations, I will go alone."

"What are you saying, you are going alone!"

King said.

"Are you saying that you can do this all by yourself, handling whole demon army!" Leon asked.

"Yes. That's what I mean."

"No way! They are more 5000, how will handle them. You're gonna die!" Laren replied.

"Yes, brother is right Allan. It's too dangerous! You should attack with full force." Lucia said.

"Don't worry. Now that you have asked me to help you, I'm not gonna fail you." Allan said with a confident smile as he started to walk.

"Wait! Allan!"

"I told you, it's fine."

Allan looked back at Lucia over his shoulder and smiled as he left.

"...Is he going to be alright?"

"Leon, prepare our knights. The moment Mr. Allan fails, we will strike demon army with full force."

"Yes! Your Majesty."
