The Curse!

"Well then, here I go..." I placed my hand above Reena and open my palm.

A faint green-golden light surrounded her body. Her weak body started to turn normal as it was clear by seeing that, that skinny body of her is now as of a healthy a girl. Those dark circles under her eyes were now nowhere to see and the thin cheeks were filled and she looked perfectly fine.

𝘏𝘮𝘮, 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘴𝘦𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘳, 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯... 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘳, 𝘣𝘦𝘢𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭...

I used my healing technique to heal Reena. By lending some of my own energy, she would be able to at least talk and have strength to stay awake.

The process of lifting the curse is very crucial though, it would be easy if I lift the curse will she is conscious as it's gonna be painful at the same time. If try to cure her while she is half-dead like this it would be dangerous if she unable to endure the pain, and I don't want to risk her life.

If she is in her senses during the process of purification, she would be able to endure pain and fight back to live, and it will increase the chances of success.

As the green light fade away, she slowly opened her eyes.

"R... Re... Reena! Oh God, you're finally awake... How are you?! Are you feeling better?!" Duke grabbed Reena's hand as he said. Her wife follow the same suit as she held her other hand.

"F... Father...?"

"Don't worry, you are safe now. It would be fine..."

Duke and his wife were both moved to tears as they looked over their healthy daughter.

"Ahem, sorry for disturbing your lovely moment, but the curse hasn't lifted yet." I said as I stopped the train of their joy.

"Wh-What do you mean?"

"I mean what I exactly said. The hasn't lifted, I just helped her to recover her health but she isn't freed from curse yet."

"S-So, what's next?"

"Hmm... Well I'm not a mage or a wizard so there is no way I can lift the curse like this with with magic,"

"...But, I can lift it and save her by doing some rituals."

"... By rituals, what do you mean?..." This time, Lucia was the one to ask.

As said that, Lucia take a back as she of scared that I am going to use someone for ritual.

King, Duke and others also made some distance as if they were sacred that I am going to choose one of them... And, what the?!

He was about to cry as tears were just holding themselves somehow from falling and... Maybe, Leon, you should be careful or else you would regret it later. Red hairs' using your clothes to clean his runny nose without you realising it.

"W-Wait, no! Geez, how can someone so stupid?"

I sighed as I explained them.

"I was just giving an example, what I meant to say was... mmh...aah...what do they say it again? Ah yeah, black magic. Black magic, yes... I am going to use something like black magic to lift Reena's curse, understand?"

"Yeah. Most of the black magic does includes them? I mean, black magic?"

Well, it's normal for them to imagine it that way. Since God of Magic love spicy food he created black magic, different from regular mortal magic, which consist different types of rituals or pooja mostly perform with spice powers and lemon and all... That guy really is an 𝗜𝗱𝗶𝗼𝘁. 𝘚𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦...

I sighed as I remember those stupid things, then I turned to Duke and others and said,

"Now then, I'll ask you to leave."

"Wha-What? Why?..." Confused, Duke asked.

"Well, I am going to perform those rituals and all so I don't want to be disturbed above that, I can't focus in front of this many people." As I said, I sent a to Lucia.

"But–"

"Uncle, I think it better if we leave this to Allan. Please believe him, he will definitely save Reena." Though she was anxious, she quickly react on the given situation.

Lucia is a kind girl but at the same time she is very sharp. She takes decisions wisely and act on them as soon as possible. I can feel her anxiety, she would be thinking whether she was right about leaving Reena up to me, alone.

Since they have putted so much faith in me, I will not disappoint them.

"Ah, hmm... If you say so, Lucia..." With that, Duke looked over his daughter one last time and begin to leave. King and others also did the same.

Just before leaving, Lucia crossed me and whispered in my ear, "Please Allan, save Reena. I have faith in you so please, don't..."

I nodded in respond.

I lied to everyone that I was going to perform ritual. In actual, I know how to lift the curse, I've learned that spell a long time ago.

I just don't want anyone to know that I can even lift the curse which is even difficult for the greatest mages or sages of this world... It would be chaotic if words spread out that someone cured a girl with ease who not even the great physicians and mages weren't able to.

That's why I used the black magic as an excuse.

Since it was black magic, they'd have believed that it would be troublesome if ritual broke.

As they left, I drew near Reena.

"Alright, everyone is gone now. You can open your eyes, I know you're awake..."

After brief moment of silence, "...You know?" Reena responded, but her voice was weak.

"Of course, the moment I casted healing on you, I knew that you'd gain consciousness."
