An Important Decision

The thing that made me wake up earlier in the day was the phone alarm. As I tried to slowly open my eyes, I grabbed the phone that was still vibrating next to my pillow. After turning off the alarm, I checked the time.

I went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast and as I opened the refrigerator door, the phone started ringing.

I walked over to the phone to check who was calling and after I picked it up and opened it, I saw that he was Hide.

"Hide, to what do I owe your call at this hour?" I asked in the most normal tone possible for someone who has just woken up.

"GOOD MORNING, KANEKI!" With a deafening shout, Hide called from the other end of the phone.

With Hide's shouting, I had to momentarily move the phone away from my ear.

"Do you realize you're going to be late for school, Kaneki?" Hide posed his question as he finally lowered his voice to a normal level.

That's right, since I'm not a 25-year-old adult anymore, I have to go back to school, right?

"I'll be leaving soon, I need to have breakfast first." I quickly responded to my answer to pass it off. But do I really have to go to school?

When I hear the word school, my face becomes completely sullen.

"Yoyoyoyoyo… Kaneki, you're leaving right away because I'm right in front of your house. Let's go to the cafe we went to yesterday. Can we go to school from there?" Hide had a stubbornness that really suited his personality.

Since he had come to my house, my breakfast plans were ruined. The noodles I ate yesterday were really good. I wanted to try them again.

The school garden was almost twice the size of the garden of a luxury castle. Everywhere was crowded with young children. While the girls were walking next to some students, some students were looking at them with envy.

This school was truly one of the greatest schools I have ever seen.
