Kiss

"You..?" The man said and trying to remember Jane's name.

"I'm Jane, and you?" Jane asked very hastily. She could faintly hear Henry's voice, who was very close to her. "Shit... I don't have any more time," said Jane.

Jane bravely grabbed the nape of the neck of the man - the neighbor. Her face was so close that she finally kissed him.

"Hug me, and cover me," Jane said.

The man obeyed and approached Jane's body tightly. Again, Jane gave a kiss to a man who she did not know his name. The two lips that touched and met each other, Jane pressed the man's lips slowly. And strangely, the man also seemed to enjoy the kiss on Jane's lips. Even his hands were cupping Jane's cheeks.

Jane's eyes opened slightly when she saw that Henry's figure with a woman had passed. Luckily the body of the man holding Jane was big, and Jane's blonde hair was in a bun, so it wasn't too conspicuous.

After sure that Henry and the woman were getting further away. Jane pushed the man's body quickly.

"What is it?" asked the confused man, seeing the rapid change in Jane's demeanor.

"Sorry... looks like I was drunk earlier," Jane said, making an absurd excuse.

"Are you drunk, so funny? But the taste of your lips is not like someone drunk. It tastes so sweet." The man was wiping his lips.

"The taste is sweet? Maybe it's my lip balm." Jane said, feeling embarrassed for her actions. She must have looked like a pervert just now.

"I'm Daniel. I've been your neighbor for two weeks." Daniel said and giving her a handshake.

"Ee... I'm Jane." Jane answered and returned the handshake from Daniel.

"I'm sorry about earlier. I didn't mean. It seems my mind is in a mess today." Jane explained and put on her guilty face.

"Who was that man?" Daniel asked, and his words made Jane widen her eyes quickly.

"Does he know?" Jane's mind tried to read Daniel's mind.

But before Jane could read Daniel's mind, the man had said that it broke Jane's concentration.

"I saw you glancing at the man who just passed. Is he your ex-lover? Wow..! Don't look so scary. I'm just guessing if you don't want to answer, it's okay," said Daniel and smirked.

"Hah... no... I'm just quite surprised that your guess was almost right." Jane replied, and again she gave a smile.

"Oh... shit! I'm so sorry about it. I didn't mean to kiss you suddenly. I hope you don't have to tell your lover." Said Jane, who still felt guilty.

"Hahaha... Don't worry, Jane. I don't have a girlfriend," said Daniel.

"New York is a busy city. Being able to sleep well has made me grateful. I can't have a lover for now." Daniel explained as he tidied up his backpack.

"You want to go home? Want to walk with me?" asked Daniel, and he doesn't seem awkward with the kiss on the lips that Jane just did.

"Why do you keep looking at me like that? Wait, do you think I'm a bad guy? Don't worry, Jane. I'm just asking you. If you don't feel comfortable walking with me, that's fine." Daniel continued as he stepped.

"No, I mean... of course. I just happened to want to go home. I just finished shopping for kitchen needs." Said Jane friendly, while showing her shopping.

Along the way, Jane finally finds out that Daniel is a student. He is younger than Jane. Daniel was only twenty-four years old, but he looked more mature than his years.

Daniel said that he was a student majoring in psychology, and this was his last year to continue his undergraduate program. He is currently doing an internship at a well-known hospital in New York City.

Daniel is a handsome, young, clever, and charismatic man.

"You should be more suited to be a model than a doctor," praise Jane when they just arrived on the second floor.

Daniel unlocked his apartment, but he didn't go inside and noticed Jane, who seemed to be struggling with her luggage.

"Let me hold your groceries first." Daniel offers his help, and Jane was delighted when Daniel offered to help.

"Thanks," Jane said as she managed to turn the lock on her apartment door.

"It's a bit stuck. I can fix it for you tomorrow. If you don't mind," said Daniel offering his help.

Jane looked into Daniel's eyes, and she didn't hear anything in Daniel's mind. The man was genuinely willing to help him.

"Of course, thank you, Daniel," Jane said with a friendly smile as she took her groceries back from Daniel's hands.

Daniel's cell phone rang loudly. He immediately picked it up.

"Yeah... what? Huh, okay. I'll be there. Wait for me," Daniel said and soon hung up the phone conversation.

"I was just about to take a break, but there was an assignment calling," Daniel said and closed the door again.

"Wow... prospective doctors have to learn to be busy, huh," said Jane and chuckling.

"As you can see, it looks like I'll be staying at the hospital tonight. I have to go again soon. But don't worry, I'll fix your room key tomorrow." Said Daniel excitedly.

"Yeah. Hurry, you have to go." Jane laughed again.

Daniel stepped forward quickly towards Jane. And suddenly, he kissed her lips again quickly, maybe only for a second.

"This time... we draw," Daniel spoke very close to Jane's face, making the woman startle into silence.

"Bye Jane... See you tomorrow." Danie left and had stolen a kiss from Jane.

"Hah... what a strange day. It's your fault, Jane. You kissed that guy first. Hhh... as if I was giving him hope," said Jane, laughing.

Jane entered her apartment, still shaking her head. It felt strange because she was kissing her neighbor? The man she had always looked at and never asked to talk.

Jane had just put her shopping down when there was a knock on the apartment door. She turned around and thought that it was Daniel.

"What's with the young man?" Jane thought and approached the entrance.

"I hope you won't try to..." Jane didn't continue when she just opened the bedroom door.

She saw the figure of a man she knew very well, already standing in front of her. The pair of black eyes stared at her. So deep that Jane felt the hairs on her neck stand on end.

"Hello, Jane? long time no see. But you still look beautiful." Said the man with a smirk.

"You...!" Jane tried to close the entrance to her apartment. But the man was able to hold it firmly. His strong hands had pushed back against the door with such force that Jane fell to her knees on the cold floor.

"Jane... I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push you. You held the door too hard. I just wanted to see you. I've been looking for you for the past two years." Henry continued to approach Jane, the woman who was still his wife.
