An Invitation

The black car had left the main lobby of the building, along with Jacob and Emily were in it.

Jacob looked more towards the side of the road while Emily sat in front beside the driver. She was observing Jacob's schedule, a tablet in her hand, but another thought was bothering her.

"Can I ask something?" Emily asked, looking at Jacob through the rearview mirror.

"Is there anything that can stop you from asking, even though I'm your boss," Jacob answered, still looking at the side of the road.

Emily's sigh sounded annoyed. She was already used to Jacob's indifferent attitude. Thirty-three years old man, it's hard to predict.

Moreover, Jacob's thoughts are complicated, sometimes making it difficult for Emily to understand what her boss is. Even though it had been almost three years, she had become his assistant.

"Why did you give that woman a chance? The strange woman who made us late," Emily quipped, remembering the figure of Jane.
