Remember that thing about distractions? Yeah, I'm about to run into one as I sense 45 living beings and only one was human or elf. It dawned on me that this could be a half elf. I come into a scene of a woman in light armor with a longsword going up against 44 wolves. The alpha didn't notice me so I watched for a bit. The woman has experience so I was guessing an adventurer. She has light brown hair that is shoulder length. Her eyes were brown.. Slim but toned. She kills a few of the wolves but they have her surrounded. I summon the M 16 and started firing, killing wolves quickly. The alpha looks at me with killing intent so I release my killing intent and I see the alpha piss herself. Still, she lunged at me and I switched to the Sledgehammer and fired 3 shots. The alpha became a red mist.
"Come on you fucking mutts. You want to test the Mad Dog King today? BRING IT ON BITCHES!" I yelled with a stern face. The woman looked at me. I wasn't paying attention to her. I pissed off the wolves so I started firing at the them. It was over in a matter of seconds. I finally look over towards the woman as the Sledgehammer disappears. She put her sword away and started limping towards me.
"Are you ok?"
"Just a small bite on my calf of my right leg.."
"Let me see."
She let's me see and it's not good but not as bad as it could have been. I use "heal" and in a matter of seconds, she's walking fine.
"I over heard you saying that you're the Mad Dog King. Are you?"
"Yes, I'm heading to the border southwest from here to meet the BAA and my forces. The Iron Blood Imperial Army is heading to that spot."
"I see. are you alone?"
"Yes. I can protect myself from anything. And I can hide my presence if I want to be unnoticed. So I'm good. May I ask your name?"
"Sara Mayflower. Nice to meet you, Your Majesty."
"Please, don't be formal while we're out in the field like this. Just call me Michael."
"Ok. Michael it is. Thank you for healing me and saving my ass here."
Ah, she talks like me. This going to be an interesting conversation.
"How old are you if you don't mind me asking."
"20 years old. And before you ask me why I was here alone, I'll tell you it was because it for a quest but the number of wolves was off by a lot."
"That explains that, hahaha. Well Sara, where you off to next?"
"A small farm close to here to report back to the farmer and to get my reward."
"I'll go with you since it's on my way."
"Whatever floats your boat, Michael."
Yeah, she's easy going. We head to the farm and when the farmer saw me, he went to his knees. After I told him to relax, he gave the reward to Sara. Then her stomach growled as mine did too so the farmer invited us to have lunch. I would turn down food and Sara accepted too. The farmer cooked so damn good food. We ate and said our farewells to him as we left. I turned to Sara.
"Well, what's next for you?"
"Don't know."
"How about this, come with me. It not too bad to have some company to travel with."
"I see your point. As long as you're not too slow in that big frame of a body you have, hahaha."
"Hey, I'm not fat, I'm all muscle."
"Hahahaha."
"Oh, so you like to pick. We're going to get along very well."
"How fast are you, Michael?"
"It takes me half the time it would take a normal person to get from point A to point B."
"So as fast as me."
"Interesting, only two other people could keep up with me and their pregnant with my child."
"Michael, it's too soon."
"No shit Sherlock. I don't want you get the wrong idea after telling you about Lydia's and Mary's situation."
"Ok."
"You ready?"
"When you are, Michael."
"Let's roll!"
We take off. She is keeping up. We travel the rest of the day, making up for lost time. Nightfall comes and we stop to set up camp. She has a separate tent and sleeping bag. I start the fire and cook some food for the both of us. We start talking.
"She Sara, are you a half elf?"
"Yes. How did you know?"
"I'm married to 2 elves. You ears are shorter than Yuna's and Anita's ears."
"I forgot that you have 2 elves in your harem of wives. Still can't figure out how you met the princess of Evergreen."
I told her the story of when I met Yuna and my time at the Evergreen Kingdom. She was fascinated with the story.
"So tell me, who was the elf parent of you."
"My father was adventurer and met my mother when he teamed up with her team to explore some ruins on the southern continent. My father was an elf and my mother fell in love with him. They found a place in Fiji and settled down but my father died a few years after I was born during a trip to the eastern continent when he ran into a tribe of cyclops. My mother raised me and taught me some swordsmanship. She pasted away 3 years ago after she got sick with the flu. I miss her but I barely know my father."
"My condolences."
"Thank you Michael. You're not a bad guy."
"I know I'm not a bad guy. I may be brutal but only to my enemies. To someone who I just met, I'm a gentleman. That's what my dad taught me."
"What a nice man."
"He was a great man."
The food is done cooking, chow time. We eat and she looks like she's enjoying her meal. I may not cook all the time or even most of the time, but I know how to cook. I finish up my meal and get ready to head to my tent. I lay down and just about to fall asleep when I feel someone enter my tent. I look around and see Sara shivering,
"You cold?"
"Yes."
"Come here and cuddle."
"Ok." she said with a smile. Women, they may not appear to be at the head of a nation or kingdom but they can still rule behind the scenes.
"Michael, you're warm."
"I know."
"Good night Michael."
"Good night Sara."
I feel her kiss my cheek and nod off to sleep.
