Chapter 10 : the box

After a period of time Hazel went back home , she came home and directly went to her room to take a rest and sleep, it wasn't so late but she needed to take a nape , but she saw the bow her mother gave her earlier that day, she took it and place it on her bed , when she was about to open it she got a message from Samuel .

Samuel" hey there Hazel I hope you're doing okay , well I still didn't give her the letter yet we didn't meet but whenever we do I'll give it to her, don't worry she's okay she just doesn't use the social media for now everything is okay for her I just hope you are okay , how is everything going for you?"

Hazel" Oh well tell her to answer because I thought something happened to her , and yes everything is okay"

Samuel" don't worry everything will be fine I'm here if you need to talk you know that"

Hazel" yes no worries I'm okay it will be hard at fist but I will get habituated to it"

Samuel" well take care little lady I have to go to work now"

Hazel" okay take care"

Hazel put her phone on her desk and get back to the box , she opened it and found many old stuff she owned a long time ago , her pictures with her grandfather, she was a kid yet a small baby he was holding her in his arms and looked so happy ; her grandpa who was her only friend she owned , she was his favorite between all his grand children , he was her confident place , her favorite person on earth , she was bullied at school and he was the one comforting her after hearing all those bad things other kids say about her , she remember him saying : " my brave little good girl those bad kids are all jealous of you , you are smart , beautiful , and everything good they can't be .... here take a candy * hands her some caramel candies *"

Hazel:"you always knew how to make me smile and forget my pain , you were my everything grandpa , you were like a father to me , I wonder if you are proud of me ? I do my best you know even after your son left us I kept being strong I'm sorry for not coming to you like before , I couldn't I'm sorry I will try to come whenever I can " .

*she took the candies he always gave her she took two *

Hazel:" this one was your favorite *she ate one* and this was mine *she ate another one* "

She then took other pictures and his things he left for her she found his watch , his glasses and some of his handkerchiefs , she teared up a bit .

Hazel:" I don't know what to do , will everything be good? I couldn't cry before but now I can't stop it grandpa I'm scared I wish you were here..... well news of the year we moved!! , everything will be different now , well I'm glad I found this box at least now I have something of you by my side , thanks grandpa for hearing my complaining well it was good talking to you I know you are somewhere in the stars now and we will hopefully meet one day I love you good night"

she went down the stairs to see her mother

Hazel:" hey mom "

Karren:" HAZEL you scare me don't come behind me and scare me like that "

Hazel:*laughing*" sorry mom I didn't mean to...look what I found in the box "

Karren:" a watch ... you bought a watch?"

Hazel:" no I found it on that box you gave me this morning "

Karren:" I don't remember you have a watch like this "

Hazel:" mom it was grandpa's watch "

Karren:" really? I totally forgot he had this watch , oh now that you told me I think he bought it the day you were born so this watch has the same age as you "

Hazel:" well well well I have a twin now cool"

Karren:" you're crazy"

Hazel: "I know .....what are we eating? I'm so hungry "

Karren:" like always..... I didn't cook yet you want some pizza I think I will order some food "

Hazel:" yes cool ".

* After getting the pizza they started eating and watching a movie*

Karren:" is that all what you found on the box that's from your grandpa?"

Hazel:" I still didn't see everything in it yet"

Karren:" you were his favorite"

Hazel:" I know ... he was also my favorite"

Karren:" he's okay wherever he is"

Hazel:" mom can we change the subject please?"

Karren:" okay okay ... how's Nathaniel and your friends ?"

Hazel:" he went with his family to a house somewhere they have no signal someone probably kidnapped him or maybe he fall on a cave under the ground and no one can hear him, and my friends are okay except for Lia who didn't answer yet habitually she calls me everyday and come to our house .... what if she went and didn't find me so now she's furious that dumb of Sam didn't give her the letter I wrote for her yet"

Karren:" okay sweetie calm down, and keep your imagination away from this Nathaniel is with his family so he is probably okay and for Lia just give her some time maybe she's sad or just went on holidays too who knows "

Hazel:" yeah whatever I hope she doesn't hate me "

Karren:" she won't Hazel stop overreacting it will kill you".

Hazel:" I'm full I will clean everything and go to sleep I'm tired tomorrow I will finish unpacking that box"

Karren:" okay sweetie good night I will go to sleep too"

Hazel cleaned everything and went to her room and throw herself directly in her bed to sleep until she got a phone call

Hazel;" uhhh who's disturbing me at this time?* hello Leo I swear if you woke me up I will eat you burger !!!"

*the other way of her phone*: Well I don't want to be at his place guess who's back??* nervous giggles*

Hazel:" Nathaniel is that you??

Nathaniel:" hey there Haze how you doing "

Hazel:" hey where did you disappear I was so worried it has been, a week A WHOLE WEEK , i want to know everything , are you okay? did someone kidnappe you? did you fall in a cave underground???? should I call th police???

Nathaniel: hey go slowly I'm okay no worries I just didn't have any signal we were at our family's farm for few days and no I didn't fall in any cave underground I'm totally fine I just came home and I really wanted to hear your voice I missed you a lot and I knew you'd be so worried sorry for calling this late"

Hazel:" it's okay I'm glad you're fine but next time don't let me be this worried okay?"

Nathaniel:" how are you? everything's fine for you?"

Hazel:" yes everything's okay I'm fine "

Nathaniel:" good then ugh I really miss you you know ?"

Hazel:" really ? I miss you too I'm glad you're back "

*they kept talking for few more minutes then they were about to sleep each on his side *

Hazel:" well it's getting late now we need to sleep I'm tired Nate I will call you tomorrow okay?"

Nathaniel:" I was about to tell you the same thing I'm also tired I will sleep now Hazy take care and sleep well"

Hazel:" Hazy that's new"

Nathaniel:" you like it?"

Hazel: " yes "

Nathaniel:" then I will be calling you that more often "

Hazel:" okay I don't mind that sleep well "

*they hang up*

Then Hazel went to sleep .
