Chapter 10

King Pixei paid no attention to the runaway boy and focused his instincts solely on the two teenagers standing in front of him. His gaze ascertained the strength of both of them and only by doing so did he deduce that the youngsters were mere insects easy to shoot down.

"I really hope this ice can take the heat." - Alex as he prepared for the fight.

"I hope so too..." - Takeru.

"Are you sure you won't try to run?" - Alex.

"It wouldn't do much good to try to run or skate in the middle of this extremely dense forest to get away from a beast that size. Besides, I'm not good with running..." - Takeru squeezing his fat.

"I got it..." - Alex.

"But thinking on the bright side, should we survive our chances increase!" - Takeru.

Hearing this, a small smile formed at the corner of the boy's lips with the frozen arm.

"We will survive." - Alex stared at the beast eye to eye.

The beast finally decided to strike first and crush them in one go. The beast opened its mouth huge enough to swallow 3 Takerus whole without even filling it up much, and a water sphere began to take shape. The sphere began a clockwise rotation, and with each second its spin became stronger and stronger, until it began to slow down.

"That's no good! Takeru, run and set up a barrier now!!!" - Alex.

Both boys began to run away while Takeru formed a thick barrier of ice on their backs. At the same time, the ball shrank to the point where it was the size of a fully open hand. That's when it happened, the orb turned into a huge beam of pressurized water aimed exclusively at the two fleeing teenagers.

The deadly blow hit the shield formed by the fat boy, and for a few seconds the water laser constantly hit the ice wall, but what happened took young Alex, most of the supervisors and even Takeru himself by surprise.

'My suspicions have finally been confirmed...' - Black-White stared at the scene intently while sipping his tea.

The wall, formed by the Asian-faced boy, had withstood the full impact and still showed no signs that it would disappear, but it had surface cracks in and around the hit spot. Even the monster was taken by surprise by this event.

"*assobio* I don't doubt the harshness of it anymore..." - Alex.

"How?" - Takeru completely surprised and confused.

"The time to be surprised has passed, it's time to counter-attack." Alex with his usual calm voice.

The student decided to act first. He focused the cloak of shadows on his legs and jumped on the monster that was still a bit stunned by his failed attack and poor judgment.

Still in the air, the boy gave a somersault as two large black blades formed on the soles of his feet, and in this way a strong vertical blow was delivered to the aquatic beast's face and two large cuts were made near its eye and large nose.

Landing on the ground, Alex deactivated the blades on the soles and quickly tried to deliver another blow before the pussycat could begin to react. A third blade appeared on his left forearm and small spines appeared in his closed fist.

And so began a frantic combo. Alex directed punches with his one functional arm and strong kicks with his two legs covered with the cloak of shadows. Direct punches and cross kicks were overlapping because of the absurd speed with which they were delivered.

To finish his sequence, Alex focused the cloak on his right leg and put all his strength into a direct cross kick to the side of the ferocious beast's head. When he came to, the beast was already flying towards the trees around the lake.

Everyone was surprised at the course of events that took place.

"Who are these little monsters?!" - Supervisor.

"How did they fight a pixei king even though they were only civilians?!" - Overseer.

"Aren't they the ones who passed Mr. Black-White's exam?" - Supervisor.

'He has potential, but he's not done yet...' - Black-White

Back on the battlefield...

"I knew you were strong, but this has exceeded my expectations Alex-san!" - Takeru dumbfounded and excited at the same time.

"Don't get so optimistic, the real challenge starts now." - Alex with his voice a little more anxious as he felt the Naro energy change at the spot where the monster was thrown.

"Wha- " - Takeru being interrupted by the shrill sound.

*GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOW* 

The noise produced was so powerful that it generated a tiny earthquake throughout the forest, the small animals present there lost their hearing or simply became unconscious, almost all the people present on the ground fled in fear and the overseers immediately positioned themselves to act at any moment without wasting any time.

"Kekeke, now you two will serve as a stepping stone to my new life!!!" - Dwarf already out of the forest with his group.

The being that created such a scream emerged from the same place the pixei king was thrown. The monster present there was twice the size and its color changed entirely to a crimson red as a small blood-colored aura was expelled from its body. Its entirely black eyes looked directly at the duo that attacked it earlier.

"W-what-is-that?" - Takeru shuddered feeling the pressure the beast emitted.

'He's been reborn, huh?"- Alex.

"That's the real challenge for both of us now." - Alex Walker.

The reborn beast suddenly detached some of its pointed scales from its body and frantically spun them around until they became like sharp blades. The same deadly weapons were now heading towards the two boys, the black haired boy was quite calm and was able to dodge, but the young Asian boy was paralyzed and half shaking as the scales set off to hit him.

"Takeru! Fucking react!!!" - Alex throwing himself at Takeru to make them dodge the 'blades'.

"Are you crazy?! If you're going to stay here to die, you'd better get out of the way instead of getting in the way!!!" - Alex with a rather annoyed tone.

Takeru heard his partner's voice and quickly realized what he had just done. He had no idea why, but the moment the Pixei King appeared again, his brain went blank and a fear radiated from his heart making his whole body paralyze. However, after Alex's angry words, another sound was heard.

*TAP*

The young student with light green eyes turned his face to his companion and seeing his cheeks red and his hands close to his head, Takeru slapped his face hard.

"I'm sorry, Alex-san!!! I will fight by your side too!" - Takeru.

"It's okay, just don't be a hindrance." - Alex as he stretched.

The still rotating scales flew again towards the two young men now ready to hit head on, this time they both dodged, Takeru started skittering around the now empty lake and Alex tried his best to avoid them as he steadily approached.

The fat man produced 2 large ice spears and threw them at the monster while continuing to dodge. The two blows hit the beast hard, but were only able to cause superficial injuries to its skin, as some scales still remained there to protect it from such attacks.

"Tsk" - Takeru still skiing on the empty lake.

"Takeru, can you control ice at will without it being yours?" - Alex shouted from a distance.

"Maybe, Alex-san" - Takeru.

"Then come to me, quick!" - Alex still dodging the scales.

"Why?" - Takeru.

"Just come!" - Alex.

The fat boy quickly glided across the ice toward his teammate. As soon as he reached him, he set up a small ice cocoon and the two of them took shelter inside.

"I'm going to be short and thick because I'm pretty sure that won't hold for long."  - Alex as he looked at the small cracks being formed in the ice.

After a few seconds of telling his plan...

"So? Is it possible?"  - Alex.

"Maybe, but I'll need at least about 10 minutes to do that..."  - Takeru.

"I'll hold it, so just do it!" - Alex.

Immediately after saying that, the ice cocoon broke completely and they were both exposed once again.

"Okay, good luck Alex-san!" - Takeru running back to a certain location with a serious expression on his face.

"I'll need it if I don't want damage to be done..." - Alex.

And so the plan begins.
