Revelations 3:8

X sat down in the cell, waiting for the bot to take him to his so-called last meal. He went over his plan in his head one more time.

"Mainframe, ... protocol," X whispered. He thought of his brother, he had to see him again to know that he was safe.

"Time for your last meal," the robot arrived. It took out a keycard, swiping it over the pad, deactivating the plasma beams.

"Come on." The robot cuffed X and walked him down the corridor. He looked at the inmates in the other cells. Many of them were skinny as bones, laying on the floor, hugging their stomachs that he figured would never be filled. The bot sat X down at a table in a room that was pure white, it hurt X's eyes.

"Alright. What will it be?"

"Beef pie, my dad used to make those for me. But, let me go into the kitchen. I want to make sure it tastes exactly like my dad's."

"No."

"I insist." X waited for the bot's leg to tick. Then, he could talk his way into freedom. Come on, the mainframe has to glitch right now. X thought desperately. Finally, the bot's leg spasmed.

"I insist. Right now. Let me into the kitchen." X saw the bot's eyes got dark for a moment.

"Into the kitchen." The bot tightened X's cuffs and walked him down the corridor, leg still spasming, eyes dim. The plan was in action.

The kitchen smelled of smoke and raw meat. X walked over to the stove and bent down for a pot. He checked for guards. None, just like he hoped. He tightened his grip on the bot, stood back up and hit the robot in its mainframe. It fell to the ground.

"Now, listen careful-" X demanded but was interrupted by the robot. The plate covering its mainframe fell off and a piece flickered and glowed, projecting a video onto the wall.

"For those of you who have committed a crime. You will be executed. Why? Because of the Rebellion that happened years ago. A daring and sinful freedom fighter named J also known as Jackal....." the film flickered and shut down. X couldn't believe his ears, Jackal, J. that was his dad. His dad fought against the government? The video flickered back on again showing footage of his dad fighting bots inside the citadel.

The citadel! X couldn't believe it. That was the government headquarters! The footage fast-forwarded to his dad on his knees in a dark room. A government agent armoured in black, his armour was sleek with a black helmet with a visor. ---X felt goosebumps rise on his skin. The agent looked like a featureless creature, with no expression showing.--- held an axe above his dad's head.

"Do it," a cold voice said. The agent brought the axe down on J's head. The video shut down and the robot's mainframe flickered. X felt his body go limp, his heart hollow. So that was how his dad died?

X sobbed.

His heart felt cracked.

He stood up and grabbed the robot by its neck.

"Alright, Listen Up."
