"Has anyone seen my charger?! Ivy where is my charger?!"

"Mom! Iris is going through my things!"

"I need my charger!"

"What's going on?" a new voice appeared.

"Dad, I need my charger."

"Hazel! Find the charger!"

"They can find it on their own!"

at the corner of the small living, she sat, with headphones in her ears, she tried to read the subtitles on the TV but couldn't as her father came in view, she titled her head in hope to see but her view was blocked completely as a long figure stood in front of her. she paused her music but his words were unclear as to the arguing behind. ivy blinked to make it seem like she understood what her father was saying, nodding. When he finally turned around, she took her chance and went to her room- and it's also her sister's room- closing everything except the fan. she laid on the bed, staring at the ceiling, the sound of a door closing echoed as if it was smashed. the door to the room and her little sister entered, ivy could see from behind her mom with a red face and tears felling from her older sister's eyes.

ivy turned around so she wouldn't see anything, and maybe, even fall asleep. she was starting to get a headache, feeling uneasy on her pillow, she tried different positions, but the pain in her neck increased, she gave up sleeping. she grabbed her phone, setting an alarm at five a.m. her eyes viewed the clock, finding it six minutes past one a.m.

she sighed, wishing that the day would pass without any hardships.

is it that hard to have a peaceful day?

five a.m. came faster than she thought, her back felt stuck to the bed, unable to move, wanting to stay more but the pile of homework wouldn't finish itself, and it had to be finished before the lovely family wakes up. she got up, doubting if she should have set the alarm sooner. as all she could do was wash her face, put on her glasses and drown in the mathematics.

It seems like a good time to start crying, isn't it?

she got her main book and paperwork sheets and started falling into what could have happened if she focused in class for once. the memory of the last test she had in the subject flashed, and she flinched. "Well, that's such a pleasant memory."

I should start controlling my tears.

The homework finished sooner than she had thought, two hours for glaring at Xs and Ys, she hummed to herself as she sank into the chair of the counter if that was possible. sitting in a position that ruined her back and worsen the pain of her neck. "Oh to be a human."

she was taken back by what she was saying, maybe a three-hour sleep isn't enough for twenty-one hour of sounds of her family, talk of her teacher or lovely comments of generous people who couldn't keep it for themselves. she went back to her room in the hope to somehow sleep twenty hours while still going to school. her sweet dream didn't last as the sudden struck of light hit her eyes.

here is the plan, wear what you wore yesterday, grab a biscuit...or more, get your bag then leave.

that's a great plan.

as following the steps in the plan, everything went smooth, until she saw the paper on the dresser, grabbing it quickly.

holy shit, that was close.

she got out before her family would gather, bringing extra money for a quick breakfast... from somewhere... if any shops were even opened. she reached school with no breakfast, she ran- regretting it of course- to gym's room slash salon something, hoping to find him before he would start his morning training-she didn't get how he could have power in such an early hour- she reached her destination, panting...dramatically, she drank half of her water, opening the entrance to the gym. a couple of people were on the floor, apparently that was warming up.

from a good distance, he laid. a smile made its way to her face, only to vanished the next second as the presence of a redhead came to view, she was saying something, Ezra seemed focused on what she was saying, grinning, he bit his lower lips then chuckled. Ivy felt like a third wheel in her relationship.

"Well, well, well, is it Ivy that I'm seeing here, must be my eyes deceiving me."

She turned her attention to the person talking. "Co-ach, how are you?"

"I'm great, thank you. Now I don't want to seem rude, but what are you doing here? It's the first time I see you enter the gym... I don't know...in  two years." The coach crossed her arms in front of her.

words were stuck in Ivy's mouth... if she had any words to say. "Um... you know, I wanted to... take the long way to the bathroom?"

what she said didn't seem to like a reasonable answer but the teacher-somehow- let it slip.

"How is your mom?"

Ivy was caught off guard by that question, completely forgetting that the coach is her mother's friend. "Mom!? Mom is great. Mom is," he glanced back at Ezra for a second to find him looking her way, she quickly put her attention back to the coach," Mom is fine, she is doing great." she put her hand of the entrance of the gym in hope to escape.

"Well, tell her I say hi."

"That's," Ivy took three steps back, "will do so."

"Also stay healthy."

"I'm healthy," Ivy said as she took steps backwards until she was out of the room," I definitely am not healthy."

she could see the coach through the windows of the entrance shaking her head then walked away. that scene screamed disappointed but not surprised.

Ivy sighed, scratching her head. she decided to go to class early even if it meant dealing with the delightful people from there, and her journey across the school began.

with the long walk, her thoughts were eating her.

what was so inserting that he was so focused? Why doesn't he smile around me like that? am I not that funny? Am I boring? did he lose interest? am I even that fun?

"I can't believe it! You are early!?"

all that Ivy could do is walk closer and hug her friend, Claire was caught by surprise by her friend's action but needless she hugged her back. " Hey, what happened?" when she didn't get an answer, she glanced at the letter. When Ivy pulled back Claire frowned. Ivy noticed.

"I don't like that face."

"I don't like that certain face of yours and surprisingly you seem to carry it a lot these days."

"Life is just being tough." Ivy kept her head lowered to not seem a giant next to her friend.

She put her arm around Ivy's shoulder."Life has always been tough, you are the one that changed, or is it that something happened to you?" she took Ivy's hand and walked out of the way.

"You know what happened."

"Ugh! When will be able to get rid of this life and travel to England."

"Actually I want to go to the Netherlands."

"Doesn't matter! they all are countries, just to be hundreds of thousands of kilometres away from our parents is-"

she was cut off by the bell which made Ivy laugh, they waved at each other and went their separate ways.

Way to the hell called chemistry class. as she entered the class, the teacher was already there helping a student with something. she sat at her assigned seat, throwing her bag next to her, putting her arm on the desk and resting her head on it, in the hope to get some rest, she already had been struggling with some things in the subject, she would ask him later, chatter started from every side, even when the teacher started talking it didn't stop, she didn't bother to raise her head as she could hear him clearly. the class went smoothly without any PLEASE FOCUS IN CLASS or NO SLEEPING IN MY CLASS. as soon as the students got out she followed, luckily the teacher didn't call her.

in the hallway, crowded by teenagers and some middle-aged people, her eyes fell on a certain golden boy and she did the unthinkable... or that was in her opinion. when William and Ezra saw her, they waved. Ezra was caught by surprise Ivy throwing herself into his arm. William smiled, shaking his head, looking in another direction from his definition of cuteness. Ezra was still caught in what just had happened but he wrapped his head around it, hugging her back, kissing the top of her head. butterflies erupted from her stomach, her heartbeat was speeding that if she was wearing one of those watches, it would think that she was running.

"Ugh, what's going? And why are you being clingy?"

"He is my boyfriend, I'm allowed to be clingy." What the fuck did I just say?! And why did I say it loudly?!

Ezra chuckled at what Ivy said, his smile grew wider at the mention of My Boyfriend, Emma scolded, looking at Ezra to see him not paying attention, she turned on her heels.

"I can't tell if that was jealousy or internalized misogyny?" William lifted the question, but none of the couples answered.

Ivy closed her eyes with one thought in her head. Holy shit I hugged him in public.
