The Covenant

The inhabitant who once stood up for them came to the deep Forest Land in Boho and met with the Elf on the first feast of the Bakunawa after the full moon.

"I have waited for you to come. It seems like you never changed at all."

The Elf Guardian approached the inhabitant. She held its face that's hiding inside a black robe with her two hands. She then touched its forehead with hers and closed her eyes. An immaculate light sea green shone brightly between them. It is usually a ceremony of blessing a denizen but sometimes a high level of greeting between Most Highs. Not all receive this kind of welcoming gesture since it's too cordial for formality. The customary act has two foreheads only touch each other and no other physical contact. The colors of the light that shine upon touching the forehead rely on the power of the receiver of the blessing: white, indigo, silver, crimson red, azure blue.

The elf's gesture of welcoming denizens symbolizes respect and trust.

"I guess I need more traveling before changes can be evident enough."

The inhabitant exchanged the elf's greeting by touching her left palm to the latter's right hand and her right palm on her chest, where the heartbeat can be felt. This act symbolizes sincerity and humility.

"I'm still deeply enticed with your doe-eyes, tho. You look so innocent yet so mysterious."

She gifted the inhabitant with a gentle and genuine smile. As the elf closes her eyes, her long, lime-colored lashes accentuate her compassionate, forest green, almond eyes that glisten like the dews on the leaves.

"Even though I have met you several times in my life, I still can't get used to your voice—it makes me want to retire to bed now."

The inhabitant revealed to the elf while showing a playful and winsome smile. The Elf Guardian's voice sounds so calming in the ears like a lullaby in the night.

"I will take that as a compliment."

The elf smiled dazzlingly. If there are spectators in their meeting, they could probably be floating now and feeling euphoric.

The Elf Guardian called for a retainer to serve them tea. The inhabitant scurried on a tree chair as it misses sitting comfortably.

Almost 3 minutes after serving the refreshments…

"Aaahhh… I missed the elven tea and sweets. They are divinely out of this world. Wherever I go, I couldn't find these things but here. I wish I could just live here my entire life."

The inhabitant leaned back on the tree-shaped wooden chair softened with green leaves while caressing and tapping its bulging tummy.

"You are most welcomed here."

The Elf Guardian smiled as she lifts her cup to drink her tea.

"You're just the same as the Elder Dwarf."

The inhabitant wasn't able to help it but flicker a wistful smile.

"It's sometimes disappointing that I travel a lot and can't live like you."

Silence wrapped the room for a moment.

"Nevertheless, you'll still choose to advance until you meet your goal; that is also why you decided to appear here in this Bakunawa's feast cycle. Am I right?"

"…"

"We will support you until you are ready. And once that happens, you will be calling my name instead of the Elder Dwarf's."

For a second, the inhabitant thought that the Elf Guardian showed a wicked smile, and her eyes were gleaming mischievously. It shook its head fervently and catch its breath.

"I thought I saw the darkness once again, Guardian."

The elf just twitched its left eye and sipped onto her tea again.

"About why I am here."

"…"

"I need you to intervene in the plight between the kataws and the inhabitants of Irca, particularly this region of Boho. Create a covenant."

"Covenant?"

"I know it would take years, decades, even centuries. But please make it happen. I know you can make it happen."

The elf was quite stunned but didn't forget to stay calm and collected.

"It is quite… a request."

"Will you…"

The inhabitant looked at the elf with guileless and riveting eyes.

"…do it?"

"Sigh… how can I refuse those enchanting eyes."

The elf smiled compassionately.

After a bunch of more talks and story-telling, the inhabitant bid goodbye to its elf friend.

"This inhabitant shall bid you farewell before the end of the Bakunawa's feast."

"I shall await for your return."

Both of them bowed at each other.

"It's always a good time."

"I shall now…"

The elf raised her hand pointing her index finger straight upward and emitted a projectile of bright forest green light which is intended to be seen and felt only by the Elder Dwarf and the oracles.

"…notify the others about your departure."

Before the inhabitant could protest, the signal was sent all over Sibu and certainly, others have seen it. It sluggishly lifted its feet to walk while hearing the wicked laugh of the Elf Guardian, or at least in its mind. Seeing her smile like a sweet spirit sent by the gods; it could only protest in its mind.

"Everyone would try to communicate and scold me all night. Aaaahhhh! That elf! I intentionally met with her discreetly."

Two nights after the meeting, the Elf Guardian finally decided to put her mind into creating the covenant between the denizens and the kataws. And so, the following day, she orchestrated dream telepathy to meet with the Most High Kataw and Most High Denizen.

Kataws are creatures created by the gods and are protected and blessed by the spirits. Same privileges that the denizens are getting. Nevertheless, kataws lived peacefully and silently in the deepest parts of the seas. They didn't inflict harm to anyone despite the denizens' abuse of the seas. However, the denizens go beyond the law of nature. Albeit the temple doesn't acknowledge the protectors of the seas, it doesn't trample the rights of the kataws. I am challenging the denizens to a covenant between the kataws.

I shall bring forth the covenant when the Estrella Castor left the sky to scout the earth which will happen next month, on the night when Pollux will shine brightly to guide his sibling. Most High Kataw and Most High Denizen, I shall expect you in the deep Forest Land.
